Came back for the first time since my graduation dinner 30 years ago. And the experience is even better. Updated decor is beautiful but it’s the food and service that make this place what it is. And the view is still stunning. Got to show my kids and husband what the Flagstaff House is all about and they were impressed! It’s still such a memorable experience that you’ll want to share with friends and family.
I have entertained at Flagstaff House off and on for many years. I have yet to be disappointed in any aspect of the food and service offered. The best for me is the quiet atmosphere so one can converse without shouting. The attention to service is only outpaced by the dining experience itself. The food is always amazing. The night views are always memorable.
Everything was amazing! I can’t wait to go back!!
Beautiful view with simply amazing service from the moment you arrive until you leave. The food was amazing, well prepared, imaginative and delicious.
It’s been over 30 years, and the experience, food, service and ambiance was impeccable. Highly recommended for your special occasions.
Very good! All the mini dishes leading up to the main meal were fantastic, but I didn’t enjoy my New York Strip as much as I thought I would. A bit over priced for the food, but the location view and atmosphere made it more doable. Still a bit over priced, especially when the main dish (New York strip) tasted pretty average. Service was great though!
Great food, outstanding service in a wonderful location overlooking Boulder. The rabbit loin was exceptional and my wife’s lamb did not disappoint. Super spot for any occasion
Flagstaff House is an EXPERIENCE as much as it is a restaurant. The venue/views are spectacular, the service is wonderful, the food was nice, and the wine list wowed. We had a very early celebration "for the holidays" with some members of our family and it was an evening that we will not soon forget. Thank you Flagstaff House!
Great service, very enjoyable experience overall. The only negative I would say was that since we dont drink, we were surprised that we were charged $3.50 for every refill of soda.
So many great choices for food in Boulder that I think I would pass next time on this restaurant. The food was just not that good. My fish was dry, hard and tasteless. My salad was anything but special. They need to bring the quality of the food up to meet some of their competitors. The location and service were absolutely top notch but for the price, the food needs to be better.
Great experience for the four of us. The service was impressive and the food was great. My only complaint was that my wife got stuck in the ladies bathroom because the lock on her stall door broke off in her hand and it couldn't be unlocked. Luckily here sister was with her and was able to go get some help. It took several minutes for them to get a screwdriver and even then they couldn't remove the lock from the outside so they handed my wife the screwdriver and she had to remove the entire assembly from the inside. Free at last. The disappointment came when none of the people that helped get her out let the manager know that one of their guests had an unusual and embarrassing event happen to them. I would have expected the manager to come over and apologize to my wife and offer the table something on the house....but that didn't happen. You can do better than this Flagstaff House.
I am a Colorado Native and have always heard how amazing Flagstaff House was but it far exceeded my expectation. Service and value was excellent. Amazing fine dining experience in a setting that even a Coloradan can’t overlook. View was amazing and experience was even better. Food was outstanding!
Very disappointing. Maybe it was an off night, it was a Wed. But the food very average, bland, and the first course (crispy Wagyu dumpling) actually too crispy--as in burnt, and things did not improve throughout the night. For a restaurant of this status, very sub-par. The wine list was exceptional, sommelier very helpful with an excellent wine choice, which turned out to be the only redeeming part of the meal. There were tables with exceptional views, we didn't have one, but that's understandable as they were all taken when we arrived. I could see giving it another try, as I'm mildly curious as to how the food could be so off at such a wonderful location, but at this point, I would not be able to recommend this place to a friend or colleague.
Much improved over last time, albeit always a delightful venture.
Flagstaff is a unique location, and the food and service match the location.
They almost always have a fixed 3 course menu and/or tasting menu on weekdays. Add to that all the nice touches and the quality shines through. Be forward thought you pay for what you are getting.
We've been going to the Flagstaff house for years. Unfortunately we were not approached by anyone for 30 minutes after being seated. I considered leaving but didn't want to ruin my daughter's 21st birthday dinner. Drinks and water took another 20 minutes. We had been there an hour before they took our order. Service continued to be subpar for a five star restaurant. The food and ambiance were excellent. I'm disappointed in the service for a meal at this price point.
Elegant dining with fantastic views. From the valet to the coat service to the bread service to the wine steward to the three-course meals with frequent mini bite samplers to cleanse the pallet complements of the chef, the dining at the Flagstaff House is a uniquely exquisite experience that will delay your pallet.
Excellent service and staff. Food was amazing and was definitely an “experience meal.” Highly recommended for special occasions!!
The Flagstaff House is a wonderful restaurant for celebrating a special occasion. The service is exceptional. They have an impressive wine list and the food, delicious. And, you can’t beat the view of Boulder down below.
It was absolutely wonderful and amazing! We were celebrating my mother’s 90th birthday and it was so perfect and incredibly delicious. Thank you so much!
got there early and it was quiet and great views - as it filled up it got noisy. The courses were small and pricy but service was very good and non-invasive. good attention to detail. Hard to get out without $150 per person.
This is one of the finer restaurants we have ever dined in. I would highly recommend it for special occasions or just a special night out. In addition to the excellent food and outstanding service, the mountain ambiance is over the top. Thank you for a great night out!
Service was extraordinary. Many exciting and unusual twists on all dishes. Highly recommend the 3 course deal for $88 per person.
Birthday dinner for 5. Seated at window with beautiful view of Boulder at night. Had the three course menu with small chef tastings before first course, between 2nd and 3rd course and at the end of our meal. Food was beautifully presented, portion size was appropriate for 3 courses, and flavors were exceptional. Best meal I've had in a long time. Most importantly, we were able to enjoy a conversation in this quiet diningroom.
Best fine dining in Boulder. Of course, it comes with its price
Beautiful restaurant with an unforgettable view. Staff was absolutely amazing and very attentive.
What’s truly amazing about The Flagstaff House besides the obvious amazing views and incredible food, is the service. The whole staff was so warm and inviting that is felt homey and comfortable even though it’s such an upscale place. It’s a dining experience completely in its own league. Amazing!
Pretentious, expensive and only ok food. Great view.
Wonderful meal. Great service. Incredible views.
Great spot for a special occasion! Excellent food and service.
Food, service, and atmosphere were amazing. Always more than enough food and amazing quality.
Outstanding experience as usual. Just the place to bring special guests
Special occasion- liked the new 3 course menu; focused on service
It was astounding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lovely table out on the terrace did not
compensate for uneven food (excellent filet mignon but bland, tasteless halibut) and startlingly amateurish service. For $627 for four you’d expect the food to be exceptional and the server to be knowledgeable and polished. Ours vacillated between overfamiliarity and a sort of stagy formality that made him seem ill at ease all evening. He couldn’t have been much more than 25, and his greenness showed. Sort of Bill and Ted do Downton Abbey. Funny at times, but mostly just annoying.
As but one example, since I was driving I had a single glass of wine and asked him to bring it with the entree. He forgot, then took forever to get the wine once I asked again. I was halfway through the maim course before the wine arrived. Mistakes happen, but again, for $627 that one simply shouldn’t.
Like a number of people we know, our conclusion driving home was that we would never waste our money there again. Flagstaff is a lovely space, but doesn’t justify the stiff prices.
This is a magical place. We were celebrating an anniversary and the restaurant could not have been more supportive. I don't know how an evening could have been more perfect.
Nice drive up a mountain overlooking Boulder, Colorado. Beautiful restaurant experience highlighted by an attentive staff, excellent wine list and delicious menu. Can’t wait to dine there again when in Boulder.
Amazing experience...Highly recommend!!!
UC Family Weekend
The ambiance and service were stellar. Food was ok. I would return simply for the ambiance.
