Staff was excellent. Mac and cheese just ok. Smothered chicken gravy was spicy. Catfish excellent.

Food was so good. Service was immaculate. Parking a little difficult and the music was extremely loud but the old fashion and fried chicken made it all worth it.

Great food and service in a fresh music-filled atmosphere. Sitting inside or out is great. A lot of choices on the menu and with unexpected upgradess: the sweet and peppery butter for the corn bread to the strawberry butter on the waffles. The smothered pork chops were juicy and gravy spot on. This is place delicious. It's a definite go to.

My experience at Fixens was just okay went on Father’s Day, made reservations once we were seated it was almost 45 minutes before our server came to the table to take our drink order. Once the drinks came it was probably another 30 minutes before the server came back around to take our food order. It was obvious that they were short handed the restaurant was packed, by it being Father’s Day I would think management would have had more servers available. The food was brought out at separate times, there was someone in the party that came a little late. I had to ask the server three times to take their order, I feel the servers were overwhelmed. But then again there were some servers that was just standing around talking to each other. By it being my first time at Fixens my experience was not a good one. And also the macaroni and cheese tasted like Kraft I sent it back and the $12.00 banana pudding I got to go, was not made from scratch it was pudding. Take the time to made a custard you guy’s are a soul food restaurant. Over all I expected better from the service to the food !!!!!

Great Ambience, Music , Vibes, Culture and can’t forget the drinks coming from their wonderful Bar. It was a Lovely Day @ Fixins !!!!

The food came out in in a timely manner. The food was fresh and very nicely seasoned. I really enjoyed my oxtail, black eyed peas, and macaroni and cheese. Even though it was busy the waitress was attentive. This is my second time going and I definitely would go again when I visit L.A.

Food was amazing! Out table ordered a variety of items from the menu and they did not disappoint. I was surprised that there was no meat in the black eyed peas but everything else was absolutely delicious!

The food is good very flavorful, I asked for a substitution on the oxtails cheddar cheese grits instead of rice Oh my goodness, you have to try it! Only one of us was offered a bread option or any bread at all (the fish plate) The decor was also nice, and inviting, I love the sayings posted on the walls, set the mood for family and the expectation of good food . The service wasn’t that great. Although the staff is friendly we had a hard time getting the condiments we need and the attention to detail was lacking from our server who seemed very attentive to other tables by physically coming by their tables to check on see how things were going multiple times while looking down or away when near our table. Although the food came quickly once we finally were able to order our food got cold because we were trying to get her attention to ask for the basic cream and sugar for coffee and tartar sauce it really negatively impacted my daughters birthday celebration. It is sad to say that it wasn’t just our personal server, we attempted to flag down other staff bringing food to tables near us even managed to get the need across to them and still no one brought the tartar sauce until about 45 minutes later and at that point we were done. Our reservation was at 715 and we got the tartar sauce around 824 we asked for boxes soon after and left at 846 because we were waiting for the check. The value- the favor and understanding the current economy $130 for 3 people I get but the service for $130 was lacking.

I always have a pleasant experience when I dine here. The service is always hospitable and the food is delicious. I am from Southern Maryland so it makes me feel like I went home for dinner.
