Five Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Five has a great menu, wonderful food, very nice design and architecture, and the service is very good, but the noise levels were off the charts the night we were there, which was mid-week. The noise, and large crowd diminished the overall experience; it could have been much more relaxing.
This is my second time here, my first time being about 6 weeks ago. Our waiter, Jason, remembered my wife and I from before. Maybe he has a gifted memory, but regardless that blew my mind knowing all the people he waits on and is top notch customer service! His service is what has me excited to go back and take my wife out to dinner here more often! Btw... both times we have had the specials that were presented to us and they are exquisite!
Was a bit disappointed with this place. My girlfriend liked her lobster and shrimp ravioli, but the chicken I got was tough and seemed over cooked. For the quality of the meals the pricing definitely was high. Service was decent enough. Probably won’t be coming back though.
Both food and service were about as good as could be desired. Decor and general ambiance was very pleasing. If forced to cite something to complain about, I would say that the noise level was slightly excessive. Even taking the noise level into consideration, the overall dining experience was very pleasurable. I would recommend The Five to anyone for any occasion.
We had a very nice dinner. I enjoyed the swordfish with butternut squash risotto. Everyone in our group of 4 commented on how good the food. Ryan was an excellent waiter, friendly and efficient , always seems to be there when we needed him. The atmosphere is fun and lively.
Made the reservation on open table and when we got to the restaurant the hostess checked us in and then tried to not honor our reservation and then was going to seat us outside instead of indoors. There were a lot of empty tables so all her excuses made no sense. Then she finally said she worked a miracle and got us a table inside.. so it started off rocky and ruined my mood. The waiter was very nice. We ordered the steak special, very tough steak..The pasta was delicious and our salad was delicious. The atmosphere is very nice, just to bad it started Rocky and the steak was too tough to chew!
We were there for the first time, it was our 3 year anniversary, and I made a reservation. They sat us in a room toward the back where it seemed like they had set up for a large group of people to soon be attending. My wife and I were so caught up in the nice restaurant and new foods to try we didn’t pay much more attention to it. We ordered all the specials for the night and everything was great except I would say the filet mignon was very bland and a tad over cooked for medium rare. Service, salads, swordfish, wine, and desert were all on point! Kudos to Jason who was amazing. The only main gripe I had was that the group of 24 (12 adults + 12 children) all came in toward desert time of the evening and ruined the whole vibe! Kids running back and forth like a chucky cheese it was a nightmare! I do plan to go back again everything else was that great, but maybe the restaurant could better seat a nicely dressed couple where you can obviously tell they are on a date with other seats for 2-4 people instead of the party room area!
Nothing about Five is a 5, unless you're scoring out of 10. It's very loud (which I appreciated to drown out my screaming 2yr old) with the bar noise, the food is meh, and the wait staff is barely average. We started with the fried calamari app (too salty). Entrees: lasagne (not much flavor) and pork chop special (the only decent part of the meal). For the price, there's no value.
Had a wonderful date night on a Sunday. Sat on the patio to enjoy the terrific weather.
Ordered a nice bottle of J Lohr Cabernet. We each had a pasta dish so we could share. Very tasty. We also shared the 5 salad and a cup of clam chowder. Both spot on. Took pasta home for lunch.
Stuart was a great server.
Great meal and experience. The only downside is it was fairly noisy inside and out.
This was a special occasion, my wife and I were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary with our immediate, local family. Reservations were made through Open Table at 5:30 for 7 people. We were given a semi-circular booth in which the seven of us could barely fit. Fortunately, two of our group were younger children, 11 and 8 years old, which enabled us crowd together. All of us have eaten at Five in the past, multiple times, and had looked forward to this visit and were extremely disappointed in the over-all experience. The noise level was incredibly loud, the Tuscan Nachos were an anemic reproduction of past experiences. Bruscetta was very good. A special was beef short-ribs....If this is your best effort, I would recommend that you ask my wife for her recipe and technique. My wife ordered a steak which was over-seasoned with a side of potatoes which were over-cooked. Desserts were ordered by several of our group and were enthusiastically enjoyed by everyone...Best part of the meal. One bad experience does not eliminate a restaurant from our list, however, we hope that this is not a indication of future performance.
Food was very good. Service outstanding. It was a a bit loud in the room we were in until a large party left, then it was much better. We enjoyed the evening and will definitely return. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and service.
First time disappointed in seating with reservation. Main dining room had booth and table open, but put us in small room wth large noisy parties. Told main dining tables we asked to move to were reserved, only offered seats on the wall in main dining room. Booth and table we asked to move to were still open when we left. This was a Thursday evening. Must need to call ahead and reserve exactly where you would like to be seated. Waiter was great, food was good.
