Five Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We understand that it was busy due to the Valentine's Day Holiday but our meal was disappointing. We usually love our dinners at Five. The Tuscan nachos were much smaller than normal, the capellini/angel hair pasta dish was over cooked (the pasta was mushy) and the sea bass was average. We will be back but our dinner overall was disappointing.
A Birthday treat that left everyone with a night to remember. 'You get what you pay for' and we got the best. Steaks were cooked to perfection (I'm not kidding). Our selection of the '5' left our guests with a sense of discovery at dining there. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the spirit of the establishment and themselves.
Chicken rollatini was excellent. Salmon was amazing and my chicken apple spinach salad was so yummy with the vanilla poppyseed dressing. They brought us a special tiramisu to celebrate our anniversary. Brother in law ordered the Bananas foster and said it was the best. If I was to complain about anything it would be the noise level, but it was just a-lot happy people enjoying their food and company!
As a Fresno native who has been living in the SF Bay area for 20 years, I have dined at some highly rated five star restaurants. FIVE demonstrated that they can compete with some of the best restaurants. The food was prepared flawlessly, seasoned perfectly and plated artfully. It is foodie approved. However, the great food was upstaged by nearly 30 minute delay between courses. Admittedly, we dined at prime time 7:00pm or so on a Friday night and the place was near capacity. The servers apologized frequently, but we never saw the manager on duty. We were not offered a complementary beverage or appetizer to help pass the time. We will return for the food!
We came here for our 35 th anniversary and our First time here
Pat the owner was awesome food and service were exceptional
For desert We had a bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and chocolate swirl was just to die for
we will most definitely be regulars
From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a warm welcome as if we were in their home. From The cocktails, appetizer, salad, pasta, main course and dessert, everything was fabulous. Incredible customer service. Pat and Marina do it top notch. Perfect place to celebrate a special evening.
Disappointed as entree ordered “ medium” came to table as “ well done” and had to wait quite awhile to receive the replacement. Restaurant did comp the entree so handled it well given the circumstances. Greater Attention to food prep quality details is recommended
Five has a great menu, wonderful food, very nice design and architecture, and the service is very good, but the noise levels were off the charts the night we were there, which was mid-week. The noise, and large crowd diminished the overall experience; it could have been much more relaxing.
This is my second time here, my first time being about 6 weeks ago. Our waiter, Jason, remembered my wife and I from before. Maybe he has a gifted memory, but regardless that blew my mind knowing all the people he waits on and is top notch customer service! His service is what has me excited to go back and take my wife out to dinner here more often! Btw... both times we have had the specials that were presented to us and they are exquisite!
Was a bit disappointed with this place. My girlfriend liked her lobster and shrimp ravioli, but the chicken I got was tough and seemed over cooked. For the quality of the meals the pricing definitely was high. Service was decent enough. Probably won’t be coming back though.
Both food and service were about as good as could be desired. Decor and general ambiance was very pleasing. If forced to cite something to complain about, I would say that the noise level was slightly excessive. Even taking the noise level into consideration, the overall dining experience was very pleasurable. I would recommend The Five to anyone for any occasion.
We had a very nice dinner. I enjoyed the swordfish with butternut squash risotto. Everyone in our group of 4 commented on how good the food. Ryan was an excellent waiter, friendly and efficient , always seems to be there when we needed him. The atmosphere is fun and lively.
