Welcoming staff, good food and plenty of it even during the pandemic

Service wasn’t great! Asked a few time to be served and staff would say they would come back but never did and when I finally got someone at 10 past 9 she told the bar was closed in a rude manner! No one came round to tell us when last ordered was!

I never normally moan as Ive worked in bars and restaurants myself and know what it can be like! But this time really wasn’t a great experience

Really quick service. In fact we had multiple staff come up to us to ask if we’d ordered when we had. Lovely venue, and food was great. Will be returning. COVID secure also with hand sanitiser at every table.

Service was great and staff friendly, the roast dinner is lovely, note to oneself not to eat breakfast lol!!

Never came back for food check £22 for steak was freezing cold and plonked in chips they were good enough to give us the food for free but was really disappointed

On this occasion unfortunately there were four very loud ladies having a drink who were shouting so loudly it was very difficult to hear my partner who was sitting right next to me...

Haven't been here in years, but the staff were friendly, food was great and service / Covid security etc was really good. We will definitely be back!

Sadly dinner was not what we ordered, service is a problem there to busy selling beer in the garden and not interested in people sitting inside, wouldn’t recommend it especially not with children.

Amazing food waitresses asking us how food drinks were . Quick service love the old feel of the pub . Didn't go in garden but sounded busy and was a lovely sunny day to enjoy it . First time here and will definitely return . Noticed the union jack flag on the wall very patriotic nice to see ..

Food was great, a bit noisy but it was the FA cup final so we didn’t mind.

Every time I have been there I have always had a great time, the table was set up perfectly for the Fa cup final which Arsenal won so made me happy. The bar staff were excellent, couldn’t fault any of them. Will 100% be going back.

The food was very tasty! The service was a little bit slow, but I think this was because they were very busy and maybe weren't expecting so many customers due to the uncertainties of post-lockdown. The ambience was nice, until later in the evening when three very drunk ladies came and sat next to us and proceeded to shout, swear and stumble around a lot; at this point, rather than having another drink or pudding, we decided to leave.

Our first post Covid outing for a meal was to the Pointed Five Star and we had a wonderful meal and attentive pleasant service in a great atmosphere thanks to the team at Five Pointed Star - well done

Excellent venue, we went on a Thursday evening, mixed ages. Good atmosphere. Really good service in terms of politeness. Unfortunately there were very long waits for drinks, as table service only, which I fully understand in the current times. It was great to see it open again.

Best Sunday roast in the area. Bar area can be a little noisy sometimes but not too bad

Slow awful service, staff were extremely rude. Over priced for what you get. Was sitting waiting an hour and a half just for 2 drinks. Understaffed. No social distancing measures were taken.

Pub was excellent and so good to have it open again! Well done everyone

Lovely food, friendly staff who could not do enough. We went for my dads 70th birthday. They bought out his cake and sang happy Birthday to him. All in all a great experience. Thank you five pointed star. X

Fab service as always, very attentive and the food was great. My friends first time here and they really enjoyed it, such a lovely little pub with a great vibe!

We went for a late Sunday lunch (4 people) and had a mixture of the roast chicken and the steak. It's a traditional pub with a cosy dining area (there are tables in the main part of the pub too) and it has a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends in the 'snug'. We had a concert to go to after our meal and despite being very busy they were able to accomodate our needs. The food was delicious and very generous.

They pulled out the stops for our anniversary and the food was great!

Fantastic service from start to finish, had the huge dish from the smokehouse menu and it was delicious, pulled pork, pork belly, mac and cheese, dirty fries, beans, it was the best comfort food I've had for a long time, will definitely be going back again
