Dining out shouldn't be one of them.
Great food and ambiance. Very friendly staff. The shrimp & grits were sent from the heavens
Jazz brunch is wonderful! I love the music by Rebecca Barry. Chicken and waffles are fabulous!
Excellent food and service.
1st time guest. Great food and wine
Overall very good. Could’ve had more selection in salads. Just a basic salad...Overall very good though! Great atmosphere!
From the time you walk in the hostess greets you with a smile and takes you to the table . I didn’t have to wait . Our table was ready . The waiter was amazing . Not only did he suggest things on the menu but he was very attentive. The place is beautiful and the food and drink are excellent. I recommend 5 to anyone who is looking for this kind of food and service .
The limited menu for brunch is well priced but doesn’t have much for the non-meat eater. There’s music but it has to be so amplified to compete with the diners that it’s harsh and distorted. There isn’t a bit of sound insulation—hard surfaces everywhere bounce sound around until we just had to leave. Some egg crate foam under the tables and chair seats would help. Maybe curtains too. Last complaint is how dimly lighted the tables are if you’re in the back half of the restaurants. No accommodation could be made for one friend who has impaired vision—the lights couldn’t be adjusted and there are no lamps on the tables. So reserve a table by the window or at least in the front half of the room. I don’t think I will be back and I’m sorry because Rebecca Barry is a favorite musician.
Great family event at Five. Lexie was a great server.
The food and service was amazing. The music was a little loud.
amazing service and food!
Mother’s Day dinner was awesome! We had a great time. Happy hour and food was amazing!!
Very good food. Great waiter (Lou). Music was a little too loud. Pitchers of mimosas were overpriced. Already plan to return for Fathers' Day.
I have only one complaint. The waiter hardly checked on us. It took 10 min to get a drink from the bar and there was only 15 people max in the hole place. And just 1 patron sitting at the bar. Paying 100. For dinner doesn’t bother me, except when I have to wait. He would have got 20-25% tip instead he only got 15%.
Porkchop dish was excellent! I'm from Atlanta and definitely visit 5 again on my next trip.
Post graduation dinner! Great service, great food!
Everything was nice. Good food and service. My only comment is that a $30 seafood platter had only 3 shrimp, 3 oysters and about a 3 oz piece of fish. All tasty, but not a great value.
Enjoyed the experience. Food was good. Service not quite as good as last time but, not bad. We will go back.
Another good meal at five. Have been here several times. Food is always good. I like the relaxed atmosphere. Simple menu but everything is cooked very well.
This was a terrible experience. The seafood was actually rancid. We had to send back food. They were understaffed and service was horrible. I have never written a negative comment about a restaurant. Needless to say, we will never return.
Very nice place to eat and nice atmosphere, food etc
FIVE couldn't have been more accommodating. Our huge family always struggles to find restaurants that can host parties of 20+ and FIVE was a delight to work with. Great food. Great fun. Thanks, all.
Food was excellent! The restaurant went out of their way to make special dietary changes for me. Thank you!
Average quality meal, overpriced for what you get, service was good.
The food was really good. Our server could have been a little more perceptive of our needs, such as tea refills, but he was good overall. We went the night before St. Patrick's Day, and the noise level was not pleasant. We had to shout across the table to hear our friends. We loved the food enough to return, but I hope it isn't as loud. The chandeliers were a nice touch.
Overall our experience was good, just be aware that the menu and what shows up on Google and Yelp don’t always align. We saw several dishes on both apps that didn’t show up on the menu. The food was good and tasted great. I had the seafood platter and for $28, three shrimp, 3 oysters and a skinny filet of snapper was a little disappointing. However, my wife had the NY Strip and it was a nice portion.
Great service and delicious food! I would definitely recommend coming here for the brunch!
Dinner before concert
No. Just no. Worst experience ever.
The Pineapple Jalepeno Margarita is the best I have EVER had!!!
The music was great but the volume level was extremely loud. I am a musician and it was almost too much for me to bear. It was very difficult to even have a conversation at the table. Thx
Always enjoys dining at Five! It was just before a Mardi Gras parade...the place was packed, so louder than usual, but the vibe was great, waitstaff awesome and food as good as always.
I have been to 5 numerous times in both Mobile and Tuscaloosa. All previous visits were excellent. This was a Saturday, the first week of Mardi Gras. The restaurant was understaffed and there was no manager. We had one waiter for 16. He will be unsuccessful in this profession. It took 30 minutes to get drinks. It took 1.5 hours to get food. All beers were warm. No one made any attempt at letting us know if there was some problem until I asked the bartender for a cold beer. She said there was an issue with the cooler. Perhaps the waiter should have informed us. The hot dishes were cold when finally brought. Although, the food, as usual was very good. Our waiter cleared the table 2 plates at a time and had difficulty in splitting the bill 3 ways. I will go again because I have had so many previous positive experiences, but this can’t happen again. Someone needs to be in charge and work the room, especially when there are what I assume is a very inexperienced waiter. It can’t take 30 minutes to get a drink and 1.5 hours to get food. If problems are that bad, let patrons know in advance
Our server, Lewis P, was great. I was disappointed in my food. I ordered the chicken and waffles. They brought dark meat and was told there wasn’t a white meat option. I did not enjoy my meal. Fish and grits was another entree at our table. Why do restaurants keep ruining grits with goat cheese? Especially in the south? The fish part was good. The spinach bowl was ok. The drinks were nothing special either. The entire experience was lacking but I would give it one more try.
The food and the service were excellent! We will be back!
Food was excellent. Loved the fact that local seafood was on the menu. Service was the best I have experienced in a long time.
It was my daughter’s 14th birthday. The waitress was great with all of the girls and made them feel special. They all loved it and the food was great, as usual.
I really liked the restaurant. My only complaint was the food came out a little too fast and the Pork Chop had a raw center
Super great brunch. Highly recommended
Paneed chicken is always a good choice. Hubby had the pork chop which he enjoyed. Noise level was off the charts but it was the weekend. I also wish they would change up the menu more frequent.
