This place is a gem.... the food is exquisite, the service superb and the venue is beautifully authentic! So happy to have found it to celebrate a big anniversary and parents' weekend with our daughter. ❤️
Very good experience. Menu with nice variety of meats, fish and great flavors. The restaurant was quaint on inside, might try outside seating next time.
Alec was a pure joy ... made the whole evening flow so well. Superb on all levels . ( ... glad the Rosemary Gimlet has appeared again )
My wife and I recently splurged at Five and Ten to celebrate our full vaccinations. We hadn't been there for a few years, and it surpassed our expectations and recollections. It truly deserves its national reputations. Every aspect of the meal was exquisite, and the service is unbeatable.
It was amazing, the food was spectacular and the service was great! Would most definitely recommend it
AMAZING food, service, and ambience. While on the higher end of price ranges, it was completely worth every dollar.
Loving the Spring menu! Once again, 5&10 knocking it out of the park. It’s our favorite restaurant in Athens. Always consistent and fun.
The food was as wonderful as it always is. The monsoon rains tried to give us a no extra charge shower, but everyone dashed around to move our table a bit further from the rainy edge, to lower the blind and fasten it so it would not blow as much, to bring new menus and an extra towel, and to turn on the heat above our table for a few minute.
Patrick was phenomenal with his service, as he has been in the past.
The only suggestion I’d have would be to do something, if possible, to have the individual leaves on the baked artichoke snacks come off more easily.
The sea bass I had was delicate, moist and large enough to have a couple of bites available for lunch the next day. The six oysters I had were good sized and made me wish that I had ordered 6 more. Maybe the Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce will even forgive the person who helped us with that order (not Patrick- he was busy helping another wet guest who’d just arrived soaking wet) who told us the oysters were from Maine.
First timers , very friendly service ( Addison) - he was professional yet approachable, knowledgeable about the menu but honest about the wine menu- which was extensive with European wines.
We had the Caesar salad, burrata starter , 2 servings of the halibut - crisp and delicious along with one scallop entree. Added to the entrees was the cornbread , could have been a little warmer . Really nice ambiance , think eating in someone’s home ,.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
A spectacular dining experience on the porch on a perfect spring evening.
We ate on the porch-lovely setting, great weather, great service, delicious food!
There were 4 of us and not one of us left a crumb! Such a treat as always!
One of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Our server was kind, friendly, and helpful. Made wonderful suggestions. They made celebrating our anniversary so delightful with champagne and dessert on the house. The food was delicious! Absolutely life changing. Would highly recommend!
Excellent food, wine, cocktails, and ambiance. Sat outside on the porch, very lovely.
We had a wonderful first visit to this iconic warhorse Athens staple.
The cornbread and honey butter and the pimento cheese and bacon marmalade starters did not disappoint.
The generous portion of Scallops were prepared perfectly and served over a gargantuan portion of roughly mashed peas. A few scallops had some sand/grit and the chef needed more seasoning on most entrees and their accompaniments. Overall, this place was terrific and matches the hype.
Fantastic dinner in a great setting! Great way to kick off my daughter's acceptance to UGA
5&10 is our favorite restaurant in the state of Georgia. We've been enjoying 5&10 for almost 20 years and we are always amazed at how good the food is (every time). The entire staff is welcoming and kind, and the service is always excellent - ask for Etienne or Bob, they'll make your meal extra special.
Perfect spot for our anniversary dinner. Distancing was well done with only 2 -3 tables seated in each little room of this refurbished old home. Wonderful ambiance and superior service.
It ain’t cheap. $150 for dinner and appetizer for two. But hey, it’s our anniversary!
Food and service was wonderful!
This was our 2nd time eating at 5 and 10 and it was as good as we remembered. This time we took our son who is a UGA student and he also loved it. Very cool vibe and the staff’s attention to detail and knowledge of the menu is on point. The cocktail menu has so many delicious choices and the beer selection is excellent. The food is as good as it gets and the chefs passion for cooking is apparent in every bite. Can’t recommend highly enough😁
My boyfriend and I were unfamiliar with the area and were in town to watch an NCAA golf tournament. It was nice to be able to find a decent restaurant in historic District. It came highly recommended in the atmosphere but inside and out were wonderful. Love that it was built in our old historic house and we were surrounded by the college community and all the fraternity and sorority homes. It was a great quiet and peaceful atmosphere and the food was absolutely wonderful and I cannot express enough how great the staff was.
Everything was delicious except for the turnips with the fish dinner. The waiter was good but not excellent as we’ve experienced at Five & Ten in the past. The restaurant knew we were celebrating and very thoughtfully gave us each a glass of champagne. This was our first time back since Covid struck and now that we’re fully vaccinated, we will go back often!
Ballard and the Five and Ten provided an outstanding dinner and drink in honor of my Grand daughter's 17th. Such a creative and delicious menu offered a prosciutto like ham with mango and jalapeño, cornmeal fried catfish, mussels, halibut, a tender delicious pork chop with a fabulous redcabbage, filet with a green salsa etc.........I am sorry I can't describe the fabulous sides that we enjoyed as well as the desserts, but we were able to eat outside on the beautiful front porch, well away from other diners and enjoy a warm March evening.
fantastic food and service. a definite go-to
Delicious food, attentive friendly staff and gorgeous historic home location.
I definitely recommend!
The meal was great, the portions were adequate, the House is lovely, however! The smell of the curtain partitions was awful and there was a cold draft. Still! I would try it again, because of the food and the folks.
Perfect night dining on the porch ! Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect birthday dinner !
Restaurant was out or very limited of several items on menu. Had to wait a while to order, and for check. What was ordered was delicious though, but just wasn’t first choice selection. Nice atmosphere on porch. Would still go back.
What a delicious meal! We started with the PEI mussels as an appetizer and they were very good. I enjoyed the steelhead trout entree and my companion ordered the halibut. Both were excellent. We ended our meal with the flourless chocolate cake and the orange tart. The tart was simply amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful and did a great job describing the dishes to us.
The service was impeccable. They were out of the trout which is what I wanted so I went with the meatloaf sandwich which was good but not great. On the other hand, dessert was fantastic. I went with two friends and they both enjoyed their entrees and desserts. This is a great “special occasion” restaurant for Athenians. Get the charcuterie board for an appetizer!
We had a fabulous dinner at 5 and 10. We will return again and again.
The chefs and wait staff all car so much about their food and creating a positive dining experience. Wonderful experience - our favorite.
Wonderful evening having dinner and drinks on the porch (post vaccine)! A real treat!
Delicious food and loved the ambiance, felt save during covid, will definitely be back!
We were visiting our son at UGA from Los Angeles, and had a magnificent dining experience at Five and Ten. The ambiance, service and quality of food were incredible. The hosts, manager and staff all displayed excellent Southern Hospitality at its finest! We will be back!
The food was superb and service was just right. We dined indoors and the atmosphere was stark, to say the least.
I suppose due to covid, but it had the feel of a school lunchroom. No flowers, no candle. We brought a candle over from the window sill. Nonetheless, we will go back.
Always a perfect dinner!
Great experience with outdoor dining. Heaters kept us warm enough to take off our coats.
Wonderful restaurant with delicious food. We ate on the porch and the staff ensured we were warm with blankets and heat lamps - making the dinner cozy and fun. The portions were reasonable with wonderful flavors and everything came out perfect. This is a great place to dine for a celebration or special occasion.
