Oh how I wish I lived closer to Athens!!! This restaurant is stellar in every way: the facility, a beautiful home; the staff, friendly, welcoming and so knowledgeable; the food and drinks, INCREDIBLE!!!! I may have to take a monthly trip from Alpharetta just so I can try everything on the menu. Don’t change a thing, Five and Ten…you’ve really got it going on!!
Nice ambience. Excellent but unobtrusive service. Good food, especially deserts: almond cake and pavlova
Overall amazing experience! Came for an anniversary dinner, and Five and Ten did not disappoint! The service, the food, everything was on point! All of the staff truly made the night a very special one, and grateful for all that they did for us. We will definitely be back!
Our experience last was excellent. From the friendly and attentive staff to the exemplary cuisine, we could not have enjoyed our dinner more. Thank you!!!
The food was divine and creative. The service was excellent.
Always the best. Can't leave Athens without eating here. Incredible service, incredible food -- a model dining experience.
Lived up to our lofty expectations in every way.
Excellent food, spirits, service & ambiance :)
Totally professional staff. They know not to overlap courses. The work as a team and have fluidity with bringing new plates as previous courses are being removed. They know the menu and can explain the preparation process. The food is absolutely exquisite. First time to Athens in 40 years. Outside of one of my favorite French restaurants in London and a now failed Jonathan Waxman restaurant in the west Village, this might have been my favorite meal. Oysters were divine. Bacon marmalade on the pimento cheese was a legitimate delicacy. The vittello tonnato could be the star of the entire menu. The mussels were cooked perfectly and the broth did not overpower them. Not many times I would order catfish at a fine dining establishment but, after some local persuasion, I did and it could not have been a better choice. Portions of every dish, small and large were perfect. Cornbread..... oh dear God. I was born in Athens and raised in the South. Best ever. The desserts were amazing... we tried the Creme Brûlée and the Pavlova. Lastly, someone should commend Mr. Acheson for carrying a white Burgundy by the glass on the menu. Fantastic. Be proud, Athens. You’ve got a gem.
Amazing staff. Great aura. Whenever i go back to Athens i am definitely eating there again
Amazing as always. The food and drinks were both extremely creative and tasty.
Incredible experience. Delicious dinner. Could not recommend enough.
Enjoyed a birthday dinner with my family. The drinks were very well crafted and a great start to the meal. We started with a few small plates before the entrees. The scallops were fantastic, the green salad was well dressed and had a nice balance. The beet salad was visually stunning. The duck breast special was flavorful and moist. The least favorite dish was the braised lamb as it was a bit tough and didn't seem like it had enough braising time. Overall a wonderful dining experience.
Great food and service, the porch tables are wonderful ambiance. Pricey, but worth it.
The food and service was outstanding. Everything we had was delicious. My friend who is gluten-free & vegan was very happy with her vegetable plate. Really enjoyed the Old Fashion during happy hour. We sat outside- although the noise from the street could get loud it didn’t deter from the wonderful meal we had.
Our visits to 5 & 10 over the last 20 years are always outstanding. Bob was our server, and service was exemplary as was the food. Highly recommended always.
We had such a lovely time and everything was delicious!
Definitely the best restaurant in Athens!!!! Always my first choice for a special celebration!
Food was excellent and staff was professional and knowledgeable. Setting was lovely.
Patrick was an excellent server! Food was 5 stars!
Thank you Ellie and Alma for making it such a great experience! Love being able to dine on the lawn.
Tremendous cuisine with excellent service served on a gorgeous veranda in a restored massive former home. This is one of the jewels in the crown of Chef Hugh Acheson!
Overpriced for the food received we dine out 3-5 times per week
my husband and I went here to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. we ate on the porch at 7:30 and it was beautiful, cool and breezy. we shared the pimiento cheese and oysters for appetizer. I had the scallops which were seared perfectly and my husband had the pork loin. we also shared a bottle of pinot Grigio and each had a cocktail. fantastic! our waiter Addison was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. would recommend to anyone.
Awesome place to eat
The food was delicious and the service was great! I would recommend Five and Ten for a special evening out.
Dinner was excellent, excellent proportion for not feeling stuffed but has become more expensive over time.
Oh 5&10 how I love thee! Definitely my favorite restaurant in Athens and it has become me and my daughters ‘date’ night spot.
As always, the food was on point. We had ensalata verde, hurrays app, chicken Kiev, roasted mushrooms and my all time favorite, the Halibut in the sashimi broth. You has previously had a similar dish with the flounder and it is phenomenal. Something I crave on the daily. I would love for it to be a staple on the menu. For dessert we enjoyed the crepe brûlée and the rhubarb tart, which was off the hook beautiful and delicious. 5 stars on the food!
Service. Hmmm. Where to even start. I do get it. I worked in the food industry for close to 15 years and I get that there are off nights. This was one of them.
First, we were seated and asked for our drink orders. I’ve been there in the past and the server/bartender is usually very happy to make a special mocktail for me. I am sober. The waitress was slightly frustrated by this request and pointed out the 4 non-alcoholic beverages on the back. I asked again and she just didn’t really seem to care or understand what I was asking. I could also feel her frustration. She did not ask if we wanted to start with any appetizers and as she was walking away I called here back to let her know what we wanted to start with. Again, frustration.
Not a great way to start. Then, we were kind of abandoned there for a bit. She eventually returned, still no drinks, with the appetizers in hand.
Another server returned with our drinks, a lemonade and what I realized was the hibiscus wine that was on the menu. Not what I had asked of her.
We were then left, for a good amount of time, empty dishes on the table and no one checking on us or returning to place our entree order. I had to flag down another server(our third at this point) to place the entree order. At some point, the original server returned and asked for our entree order and I had to inform her that we had already placed the order with someone else.
Had reservations for 2 as a birthday dinner. The hostesses first tried to seat us at the worst, most hidden table in the restaurant. They accommodated our request to move, but put us in the back near the loud prep counter. Cocktails were good but they took about 20 mins to make. Our server comped one but the next one we ordered never came at all. I appreciate the gesture, but would have preferred timely drinks. We were also a little disappointed in the quantity of the appetizers (one tiny piece of bread with the burrata). Our entrees were good in terms of creativity and flavor but were both a little cold. I see the potential here, and would give it one more chance, but this particular experience was too mediocre for the price.
Mary and Patrick were super helpful and pleasant! It was a great date night!
We went to Five and Ten to celebrate my graduation. The food and service was phenomenal (per usual). I highly recommend the ramps, mussels, cocktails, and other seasonal items!
We had a fabulous dinner before our daughter's graduation from UGA. We were all so impressed - the good was outstanding. Loved it all. Thanks for making our day so special.
Absolutely amazing! Service was impeccable and the food was delicious! I could not have asked for a better experience… Thank you!
We came for my daughters graduation celebration.
Everyone was so nice and the food was great. Our server Megan was amazing! Thank you for making it a great meal and celebration.
I’m so glad I went here to celebrate graduation with my family. The servers made it such a special experience and the food and drinks were amazing as always.
We came to celebrate our UGA grad and the experience couldn’t have been any better. Such a great staff and delicious food!
UGA Graduation dinner
Food was good. We had the lamb, scallops, and pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meal, but left still a bit hungry. Small portions with no filler like No bread. No salad. Just some peas or beans. Only reason for 4 instead of 5. Very expensive meal to leave hungry
New to Athens and this has quickly become one of our favorites! The chef has a way of introducing new and interesting varieties of plates.
