Five & Dime Ale House
Sweet chili sauce, green onion
6oz patty, american cheese, french fries
Mac & Cheese
Cavatappi pasta, bechemel cheese sauce
Good, not necessarily fast. Covid related service changes
Food was great, service was great. Will certainly be back.
Great service. Solid food. Was there on a rainy New Year’s Day so it wasn’t packed.
Very different t atmosphere good vibes
Good service, but the vegetarian brunch options leave a lot to be desired. Food was bland and underwhelming.
Great food. 1/2 price bottles of wine on Fridays is the best deal around. Great vibe and reasonable prices.
Extensive and highly creative menu, exceptional service and one of the best craft beer, wine and spirits lists in Baltimore. Cannot recommend this place strongly enough.
Not sure what’s going on here but the food and service was dreadful. Three of us had the spicy chicken sandwich but were wondering where the chicken was. The sandwich was all breading and was fried too long. The desserts were tasteless so with the combo of poor food, rap music that was playing way too loud at 7:00, a mediocre server not sure we will be back.
This was our first visit, and we will definitely be back! The great selection of beers, fun Oktoberfest specials, terrific service and casual vibe all made for a fun night out with friends.
We enjoyed our dinner with waiter Sachin ! Great apps and drink deals.
Great drinks! Great food!
We had a great meal. All of the entrees were delicious. Great draft beer list too. The Bmore Hot Chicken sandwich I ordered was perfect. Highly recommend. The cook on my daughter's steak wasn't right (order medium rare and got medium to medium well) but it was still delicious. And the side Brussels sprouts with bacon, cranberries, and onions were tasty.
Great brunch menu and excerpt service.
We took my daughters college friends for dinner. I would say it’s upscale pub fare. The nachos were yummy and so are the fried pickles and deviled eggs! The steaks were cooked perfectly and were really tasty! We will be back! Trivia night was very fun too! A great spot overall!!
Good drinks, great service, not so good food.
Frequented this place many, many times pre-covid. Always somewhat NOISY (sound abatement, anyone??) but food was good and service was acceptable----great, if you sat at the bar.
This time, terrible food, fair service, but not great. Maybe our wait staff could have noticed that my daughter in law did not touch her Avocado toast, because is was so unappetizing and soggy (guac, not slices of avocado) but he did not. Sound was ridiculously loud between adjoining booths with boisterous group of 4 next door. Why can't they install some sound abatement? We strained to hear each other speak. It is not rocket science!
All in all, a major disappointment. We will not be going back.
It was just ok. Server was attentive at the start then was MIA. Food was ok. Not bad, not great
The food is okay, the fries were really good, but overall not something you'd go out of your way for. The service is terrible. Pet peeve, please use an ice scoop. So gross to see the servers and bar scooping ice with the cups.
We went to the Five and Dime Ale House Saturday night with another couple and loved it. The menu had so many great choices and the prices were so reasonable. We all enjoyed our food and our server was so personable and helpful. Our drinks were also great. We will definitely be back.
We loved the ambiance and location. Great food and drink. Service was great too. Overall it was great and we will definitely return.
Service was slow and inattentive. My food was mediocre at best. I had the Bmore hot chicken sandwich and the cheese on the sandwich was advertised as cheddar. When the sandwich came, the cheese was not melted and had the consistency of Velveeta. One guest in my party has a dairy allergy and asked for her broccoli to be prepared without butter. They served us raw broccoli. When asked if they could replace it with steamed broccoli, they agreed but we never received it. Yes, they took the meal off the bill, but the overall experience was not a good one. First and last time.
My family was visiting for Father’s Day, and this was the perfect spot to celebrate. Amazing food and wide selection of drafts, plus a very friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back to try their brunch specials!
out of almost everything we ordered....hot upstairs....too loud
Our server was excellent; the food was very good; I hope business picks up because they deserve it.
We met another couple for snacks and drinks. The beer/drink menu was huge, as was the food selection. Everything we had to eat was excellent, and the server was attentive and helpful. I took a point off because the noise/music level made it a little difficult to converse, but otherwise we had a great experience and would go back.
Our server was great! So friendly! And attentive! The Thai shrimp app was delicious!
The service was outstanding! We love the outdoor seating. The food is exquisite and drinks are well priced. Would recommend this place over and over again.
I was so excited to see Five & Dime was open again! My drink and my burger were both delicious and I can't wait to come back. Service was wonderful. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly. We sat outside, but the inside is beautiful. Can't wait to go back and keep trying different burgers.
My wife and myself are frequent visitors to this restaurant and this may have been a 1st were our food experience wasn’t the best. Regardless, our host and the manager were extremely nice and courteous to the situation and made everything right before leaving. Again, this is a great establishment and we will not fault them on this one not so good experience.
The only recommendation that we are hoping they bring back, even if it’s on a special nights are their crab pretzels. It’s no longer on the menu, which we hate to see it leave. If management is reading this... please bring it back.....even if it’s for a one or two night special on the appetizer menu lol.
Peter was kind. The food was underwhelming. The deviled eggs came to the table without bacon (specified in menu) and flavor. The mashed potatoes were old and oily.
Good food, friendly service, COVID-safe. And great spot for people-watching!
We had atleast 3 people from the kitchen attempt to give us food that was not ours. Overall, the food was good. Beer selection was good. Need a little more organization in the kitchen.
They are operating under difficult conditions, but everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The staff were super nice.
It was their second day of being reopened so the service was not as fantastic as the previous times I have been here. Waiter was not attentive and the food was barely edible. I want to give them another chance but this experience really overshadowed all my other great experiences here.
Great place to grab a burger and support the neighborhood!
Overall, our experience was pretty good. The only issue we had was the wait time for our food. It seemed like we was waiting forever for the food to come out after ordering our appetizer and main course together. It wasn’t super busy, so I can’t believe the wait time was for that. Besides that, everything else was great.
Moral of this post, if you are really hungry, make sure you have a lite snack before going here. The food is great, but the wait time for the food is not.
I would never dine here again. We had the worst service and the food quality was poor. Our experience started out with 2 drinks and an order of the brussel sprouts. We then ordered entries (a burger and caprese chicken sandwhich).
The burger came out correctly, although the presentation was poor - a mcdonald’s cheese burger would have looked better. The caprese chicken sandwich came out as a caprese chicken platter? After waiting 10 minutes for our waitress to come back around, I was able to ask her for what I ordered, the chicken sandwich. She said she would fix it & 15 minutes later was still chatting with the booth in front of us. After her conversation, she came back and asked if my meal has been fixed (clearly not as I did not have a sandwich and the platter was on the corner of the table). she finally took the platter away and we waited for another 15 minutes before I brought 1 of the cold chicken pieces that were on the platter on a cold hard bun. fine - well played. We then asked for the check and saw that we were charged for the caprse chicken platter & not the chicken sandwich. We informed the waitress and she went to fix it. She brought back the corrected bill, we put our card in, and she took it. She brought the receipt book back & and we thought finally we can leave. Then she COMES BACK and takes the credit card book again and starts to charge us A SECOND TIME. We run up to her and say - we’ve already paid - why are you charging us again? She was “confused” and walked away to get her manager. After waiting some time, she just dropped of the receipt book and walked away. She then started watching our table and pacing. We tipped and left. I cannot believe that we received such horrible service. At no point in this entire disaster dinner did a manger come around to ask how things were, nothing was offered while I had to wait 20+ minutes for the meal I ordered after I received the wrong meal, and no manager came to address the payment issue. Stay away!!!!!
The service was terrible. The bar didn’t get our drinks out at the same time. Food order was incomplete. We’ve been here before and never had a bad experience like this. We don’t recommend the place and won’t return any time soon.
I’ve been here many times, it’s one of my favorite places in hampden. Our server, Caleb, was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint was that my salad was missing two main ingredients that was listed on the menu because the kitchen was out. It would have been nice to know this when ordering. Our server did his best to correct the issue. Great beer selection, but sold out of quite a few things on the night we visited.
If you are coming here for a drink and a snack, this place is great. It has a huge selection of great beer and fun mixed drinks, and a very extensive menu. If you are coming for dinner or are looking for food variety during your visit, you may be disappointed by the fact that a lot of the food tastes exactly the same. We got 5 different appetizers and two main dishes and they used the exact same sauce on four of the items. Their dessert menu is very impoverished. Many of their mixed drinks are seriously overpriced -- one prosecco drink was only about 4 ounces and cost $13; I can buy a whole bottle of the same prosecco for $19 or less.
