FitzGerald’s has been a place for gathering since it was built in the early 1900’s. Up to 1925, the frame building at 6615 W. Roosevelt was a roadhouse used as a hunting lodge and sporting team headquarters. As more buildings rose along Roosevelt Road, the property was home to several nightclubs, the best-known being The Hunt Club, which flourished through the 1950’s and early 60’s–acts included Turk Murphy, Bob Scobey and Lil Armstrong. After the Hunt Club closed, the space became the Deer Lodge, complete with pool tables and a fortune teller.

The FitzGerald family bought the building in 1980, and since that time FitzGerald’s has gained a national reputation for excellent live music in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. Along the way, the family purchased the buildings on either side of the club; the corner building now houses FITZGERALDS Sidebar, a neighborhood cocktail lounge as well as a private event space.

This was an amazing Dia de Los Muertos show that included live Mexican music, a performance with some of the most beautiful and spectacular costumes I have ever seen, and delicious home-style Mexican food. It was an unforgettable evening.

Everything was excellent except the rude group close to the door shouting at each other. If they want to chat with each other there are hundreds of bars around where they would not interfere with the awesome music. This was our first time visiting Fitzgearld's and we will be back.

Love this place great vibe I just wish they would have told us that Tuesday concert with JoJo Murray was located on the outside. That way we would have worn winter jackets. Because it was very chilly outside. And they only had one fire pit. Also I've been to Fitzgerald 4 times within the last 2 months and Tuesday night was the worst waiter I had .He was friendly he acted like he didn't no anything and had to ask people for our little simple request

We came for an outdoor band performance on the porch. Was a fantastic show by Alewife. Seating was very comfortable on some Adirondack chairs near the stage. The ambiance is a cool, relaxed, mixed vibe with multiple types of seating, individual smaller tables, picnic tables, a line of Adirondacks in front, there’s also a fire pit and chiminea with the Babygold BBQ in the back for food. A really put together destination spot for music, drink and food. We’ll done FitzGerald’s in keeping music alive in this changing environment we’ve been living in, thank you for being there and being innovative through it all.

We came specifically to hear Radio Free Honduras. We live an hour away so we visit Fitzgerald’s to follow the musical artists that Fitzgerald’s present. Last night, the evening couldn’t have been more enjoyable. The staff and food always satisfies us.

The seats were great, though a bit close to the stage meant that the sound was a bit high. The Sons of the Blues is a great band and they excelled. What is best is that this show is simulcast on WDCB which means it starts on time and the musicians play energetically for an hour without break. Service is great from the time that you are greeted at the door to the waiter making sure your drinks and food are to your liking. We go here every month and it would nice to have something other than barbecue for options, but the food is good.

I had never been to FitzGerald's, altho I've heard of it forever...Met a friend there for the monthly Big Band group. We decided to order dinner, to enjoy while listening to the music. Everything was great! Music was awesome! Food was delicious! Service was prompt and attentive! We will return....

The brisket is just not good. I had a burger the last time I was there and it was mediocre. The waffle fries and mac are good though. Not great, but good. Eat before you go or stick to the sides.

We had decent service from our waiter Curtis and the live entertainment was very good! Major error with entrée being brought out before the appetizers! Overall we enjoyed the experience for a Tuesday evening, i.e., weeknight.

I continue to be amazed at my good luck to live in the same community with Fitzgeralds and to actively participate in this journey under new ownership. We stopped in on a Wednesday night to listen to live jazz from the Adirondack chairs and treat ourselves to BABYGOLD BBQ. The smoked turkey is so good ... And the waffle fries - ? - incomparable. But, that's just me. Y'all will have to come see for yourselves.

This was our first time at Fitzgerald's with the new owners. Went for the music. Patio was FANTASTIC. The staff went way above and beyond to accommodate our special needs. SO wonderful - Jack at the front was phenomenal.! THANK YOU......THANK YOU......THANK YOU! We will be back!!!

The patio is very nice. Their menu lacks smaller portion meals and healthy options. They offer a veggie burger, but it's huge. While I get that they are a BBQ place, simple side salad would be nice.

Service was great. Food was very good. The new owner is really giving this place new life and atmosphere. It was very quiet and pleasant when we first got there. When the band started it certainly filed the space but was a good band , and, after all, this is a blues bar. Overall this was a great place and great experience. We will go back soon.
