   It’s been years since we’ve dined at this, one our favorite Central Coast restaurants. Correction …used to be favs. We took our family for lunch today while vacationing from Fresno. Having previous great dining there I had high expectations but was sadly disappointed. Only one gluten free option offered on the menu. Two of the three main entrees were not available because the ‘fish had not been delivered from Monterrey yet’. The server brought my entree and it was not as ordered. Said ‘ the chef couldn’t make it gluten free’ and didn’t offer another option. My sea bass was dry, white rice and sautéed spinach lacked flavor. I was going to send it back but the server didn’t return for a long time. Our over priced lunch for 4 adults and 2 small kids was over $350! We won’t return.

   Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. A wide variety of foods. Seafood was great.

   Welcoming, smiling folks offering great service and tremendous food. Espanada and Ahi bowls particularly good.

   We went to Fishwife for dinner based on decent reviews. But the dining experience was very disappointing. The food: Nothing special and the price was above average for similar type of food. In fact, their famous fish and chips was not that good. Small pieces of fish wrapped in thick cornmeal batter. And the fish was dry and tasteless. The service: Not attentive. The restaurant: Looked run down and the restroom was filthy. Beware of no splitting the bill and extra charge for credit card payment.

   Eating at Fishwife is a joyous experience. We are treating as part of a warm and loving family in addition to enjoying a fabulous meal!

   We always eat at The Fishwife when visiting Pacific Grove. It is a gem of a restaurant! The food is delicious, and the servers are very friendly and attentive. This visit was on my wife’s birthday, and they brought her a yummy piece of key lime pie with a candle!

   Everything was fantastic. The restaurant was busy but is managed by a wonderful person that didn't think twice about jumping in the help the staff. Great experience. Also- they have a dessert menu that can please everyone.

   The decor may be slightly dated but it makes me feel at home. The food is great and the service wonderful. Loved the crab Tostito’s on app menu. Served cold, great flavors and if you like spicy, try the habanero sauce! We will definitely be back

   We chose two entrees from the specials. Swordfish and Dabs over lobster ravioli. Both were excellent! Each entre came with a side vegetable. We had the Asian salad and drinks and then a wonderful finish of Key Lime Pie and coffee. We had an attentive and friendly waiter. It was off the beaten path and not touristy, definitely will return!

    This is a great place, for what it is. Very casual, great service, good food, fun drinks. Eat here often, and plan to bring the entire fam here for dinner next week.
