As usual, counter sat in front of the poor dudes shucking all the oysters. Justin, the barkeep, took care of us mighty fine as we splurged on the Queen Mary shellfish platter, gem salad, squash rolls, fish&chips, bigeye tuna tartar, and a Thai-curry sweet potatoes dish. All washed down with Tito’s Vodka. At $95, the Queen Mary is still a great deal and perfect for two. Everything including the Key Lime pie and Banana Pudding were fantastic and I claim this cramped, noisy joint “Das Best Beach Scene Seafood Boot!”

We really liked this place and enjoyed everything about our early reservation. We seated on time and enjoyed a great sunset view. Our service was spectacular and really added a lot to our experience. The food didn’t disappoint either. We had oysters (a must); a crab cake (my hubs said it was the best he ever had); the sweet potato dish (that was dynamic and the highlight of the meal for me): grilled prawns (which were cut in half and served in the shell); the mixed greens (this dish was a perfect pallet cleanser); and the finale was thE key lime pie (wowowowow)! I would highly recommend this for a great date night on the town!

Amazing customer service. I don’t write reviews often, but this establishment more than deserves it. They took care of all of my dietary restrictions but made they didn’t draw unnecessary attention to me in front of the party I was with. The food was spectacular - the food setting was impeccable and the food quality was excellent. All made to perfection and tasted all fresh.

Superb, superb. Clearly one of the more surprising dining experiences I’ve had in LA in some time. This is a very small seafood house, resembling many favorites from Back East, but full-on Manhattan Beach. Fresh uni lobes from Santa Barbara served on ice, extraordinary scallops on the half shell, Hama Hama oysters with 3 different accents (though none were needed). Fun, beachy place, great staff. Yum yum.

The food at this place is for sure amazing. Everything was really well cooked and tasted delicious. What you should be aware of is that its more a tapas style of eating so you would order several dishes and share them. I found it extremely overpriced since one tapas was between 25-50 dollar. At least if you want to eat seafood. Its a great place with great food but the prices are really too high.

The food was amazing, everything we ordered was interesting and delicious! The service was just as great, they really took care of us without being overwhelming.
The atmosphere is of a small neighborhood eatery, not pretentious, just great good, great service and a quant atmosphere.

Fun restaurant with great food and excellent, friendly service. Chose from Restaurant Week menu. Appetizers and dessert were very good and my husband’s clam chowder was delicious. Didn’t care for albacore entree as much but overall everything was fine.

First time we tried Dine LA option. Totally worth it. Po Boi was superb and so was albacore tuna. Clam Chowder the best, as usual. One of the best restaurants in California.

We were visiting from Boston and heard great reviews of this restaurant and had to check it out. Everything we had was amazing - oysters, little necks, Peruvian scallops, John Dory Fish, and both key lime and banana pudding deserts. Excellent wine and beer too. Staff was so helpful and great service.

First time for brunch at our favorite place in Southern California - we usually go there for oysters and clam chowder, the best in the world. It never disappoints and this time was no different. Or server Natalie was exceedingly friendly and professional. Cocktails level : expert. Crab Benedict and Shrimp Grits, South Carolina style, were exquisite. Will come back often.

I had written an elaborate 5 star review for them in the past. Used to be one of my favorite spots. I was there with my husband for my birthday. This experience was a bit different. I don't know if their service was lacking because of dine LA. The tables are all very close to each other because the space is small. But they allowed a party of four to stand at the bar right behind my husband. He had no room to move and they bumped into him a few times. It was a bit annoying and very loud. We ordered one set of dine LA items and five other items from the regular menu. The octopus and hamachi were both way better before. They should bring back the tomato based sauce for the octopus. We weren't told that the dine LA menu's Key Lime Pie dessert is not their normal pie but a smaller disproportioned version of it. When I saw our neighboring table get their pie and how weird it was, I asked our waitress to charge us a bit more but upgrade to the regular pie. She said she could add a regular pie but would have to bring both. Really? For a restaurant that normally brought the pie complimentary for a birthday celebration, not even upgrading (and I asked for an upgrade with an added charge, not a free upgrade) was a bit rude and annoying. She said it's exactly the same thing, just a bit smaller, but the portions were off and didn't taste nearly as good. Overall, still some solid food and might one day try them again because their service had been so great in the past, but it didn't give me the warm cozy special feeling as the past 6-7 times I'd been there. Again, hopefully quality and service was lacking because of their dine LA mayhem.

Fishing with Dynamite is a small restaurant with a big punch. We went for LA Dining Week and got the prix fixe menu. The hamachi was outstanding, and the steamed clams were very good. The crab cakes were disappointing as I was expecting lump crab meat in a seafood-focused restaurant such as this. Although small--around 25 seats--it was incredibly noisy as there are no soft services to absorb the sounds from the open kitchen and clients. The wine list was small but quite good. I would recommend going earlier in the evening to avoid the noise and to find parking.
