To be fair the food might be fine, but we didn't find out because we left before ordering. Made our reservation based on my husband's family's previous great experience here several years ago, and the menu looked fantastic. When we showed up, there was no hostess, just a big sign saying to pick any open seat inside or out, and to place your order at the bar. So, immediately it was not the dining experience we were hoping for on our 5th anniversary. But, we found a seat outside by thd water (the patio is huge and gorgeous. I wish we could have stayed to enjoy it.) The menu on the table was just the small menu from the adjoining clam bar, which consists of 90% deep fried food and sandwiches. My husband went inside to ask if we could have menus for the main restaurant, and was told that they were only serving the clam bar menu. While we both enjoy fried apps and sandwiches, that's not what we'd come for and definitely not what we wanted for our anniversary dinner.
I made a reservation with open table for 16th anniversary dinner and was greeted by no table service walk up window food plastic silverware and plates and self-service I feel that this should’ve been relayed to me prior to arrival Fishermans catch maître d’Told me they let open table know three weeks prior they were not excepting reservations I am very disappointed
Don’t bother going until this Pandemic has passed. There are no waiters; food is ordered at the bar off of a pamphlet with a very downsized menu and then a busboy comes out with food and doesn’t know which table to bring it to even with a numerical designation at each table. When we got our crab cakes (which tasted and looked more like a veggie burger at $16 each!) I had to wait in line at the bar to get flimsy plastic utensils wrapped in plastic with a tiny napkin exactly like the ones you’d pick up in a KFC fast food restaurant and request Tartar sauce for our crab cakes. The busboy came minutes later with ONE tiny plastic side of Tartar sauce for our three crab cakes. I had to ask if they could have their own Tartar sauce. Our entrees came in a round tin you’d use for a doggy bag. It was cafeteria style eating at fine dining prices. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I understand restaurants are having a hard time now but we’ve been out to several restaurants in Long Beach to support them during this unprecedented time and ate out of REAL DISHES with REAL SILVERWARE. I’m afraid if this doesn’t change at Fisherman’s Catch, their days will be numbered and that would be sad since they’ve been a Point Lookout Staple for several years :(
The only thing that kept us from walking out was the fabulous view.
Waited 45 minutes for food. It was salmon and stuffed filet, not something fancy! Tasted ok, seafood not as fresh off the boat as suggested!
Had a great time at this location. Food and view was great !
Dirty b & b plate
Dirty wine glass replaced by a 2nd dirty wine glass
Beautiful setting right in the water with Sunset
Stacey our waitress was welcoming and made it a nice experience
Food was very good! We all enjoyed!
Food was very good. Celebrated Anniversary with friends.
Everything was perfect but they ran out of pork chops.
Our waitress was busy but tried her best. Even with a limited menu several items were not available. The tuna was overcooked but the scallops were delicious
Love sitting on the water. The food is good! We come here once a year. Would love to see a more diverse menu - there were a lot of pasta dishes!
Excellent ... loved the short ribs
My mango jalapeño martini delicious
Waiter and bartender very nice
Terrific outdoors dining despite having to wait 45 minutes!
The food was good, place was beautiful. We wanted to sit outside and it seemed like the hostess was saving tables outside for someone else, even though we had a reservation. We sat inside by the window.
The ambiance of the restaurant was outstanding. The view is to die for.
unfortunately, the lack of a drink menu and the mediocre food wont make me return.
Such delicious food and amazing staff. They made an intimate 30th birthday dinner very special.
We ate outside on pier which was created to address Covid rules. It was very nice, created a very Long Island summer experience. Food is always very good, not as hot as I like it when it arrived to the table. All cooked well, tasty and service was professional and lovely. Maybe a bit more than we wanted to spend, but the overall experience made it all worthwhile.
Great table on the water but the food was not good... Especially for the price.
Great service jerry was fantastic
Covid compliant the best silverware wrapped
First time worth wait fir outdoors
Lovely setting; excellent menu, enjoyed the evening!
Great food. Great view. I would just suggest letting people know at the beginning of the table limits. That would have been my deciding factor of whether or not to order another drink.
Perfect night on the bay in Point Lookout, fresh ceviche and Tuna Poke and the staff was great ;) Like a mini vacation....
Beautiful night out with my boyfriend! Love this place
Went here for my mom’s b-day. Tables were socially distant, which was good. Service was just ok. After ordering drinks when we first sat down , took about 15 minutes before we received them. It took so long that another waitress came over to ask if we were being helped. Restaurant was not crowded. Found the wine pours to be a little light and couldn’t taste any alcohol in my my mixed drink. My mom ordered the Fisherman’s Catch entree which the menu said was scallops, shrimp, mussels , fish and half lobster tail. When the entree came to the table there was No Lobster at all. For $45 I made my mom return it. Another one came out with the lobster but by then the rest of us were halfway finished with our dinner. No offer of a drink on the house for the mistake. Will not go back, very disappointed.
The problem was we had to wait over a hour for a outside table. Very few guests were wearing masks. The restaurant did nothing to encourage wearing masks. I think the place was full of horrible Trump supporters who don’t even believe Covid19 exists. For our own safety we will not return
Everything was great. The food, service, view, very clean, prices were very fair. They made every effort to make it a very good experience. I have been there many times and always had a very good time, will continue go there. They always allow my small dog.
Overpriced, especially $11 for a tiny soup portion, but food was nicely prepared.
Excellent food and service!
Got there 1/2 hour early. Seated immediately. Waitress was wonderful. Ordered Fisherman Catch, which on the menu stated that it came with a 1/2 of a lobster tail. Some how they confused the claws with the tail. We were told that they ran out of tail. Then all of a sudden they had a lobster tail. Felt that it was way over priced. Manager never even came over to say a word!
Food and drinks were atrocious
This restaurant used to be a good place. But the other night was terrible. The staff is completely miss managed. On a positive note our waitress was very nice, but seemed very confused and unable to do there jobs. The food quality was very poor. It seemed as if no one had ever run or worked in a restaurant before. With all that they even raised there prices if you can believe it. I will not be returning anytime soon.
We booked an outdoor table for 8:15PM. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that outdoor seating would be an additional 45 minutes. This is the 2nd time this happened at the restaurant. I ordered Pellegrino Sparkling water and it was flat. I returned it and requested a 2nd bottle. It was flat as well. I switched to club soda thereafter and it was ok.
The food was just ok. The service was just ok.
The hostess seemed disinterested with accommodating our request for outdoor dining. I probably will not go back to this restaurant. Overall it was a disappointing experience.
The booking was overbooked so didn't get to sit outside.
Had outdoor reservation and would have to wait an hour for a table. Had to eat indoor.
Clam chowder was barely warm. food was barely adequate. Not a good dining experience. Parking is horrible and had to wait over 20 minutes to get into their lot waiting for somebody to leave.
Open table let us put in reservations for outside dining
When we got there they said they don’t do reservations for outdoor dining. It is first come first serve
You need to fix your site to show that.
We were not the only ones they had this issue.
The bartender was great the fish fresh the views great and the manager welcoming what more can you ask for
Enjoyed the Scallops Newburg very much! Our server, Pam, was friendly and provided great service.
We have been there several times before for lunch when the weather was nice and sat outside. Always have enjoyed this restaurant. This was the first time we went for Sunday Brunch and sat inside. There was a good selection of foods. I thought the price was reasonable. The restaurant was crowded with several large parties taking place. It was a fun vibe.
very nice restaurant, great food, great service, beautiful views of the bay. nice atmosphere.
