The waiter forgot to bring bread when we asked for it after waiting 45 minutes for food He was nice but obviously not trained The food was not hot when it FINALLY came The red snapper was like rubber it was cooked so over done. The shrimp was tough and over cooked and cold. They took off the red snapper and we still paid 100 for the meal They should have comped the whole thing.
An outstanding seafood restaurant. You have the option to eat inside or on the deck outside overlooking the gulf. The fish and chips are the best I ever had. The shrimp cocktail was amazing. Great and friendly staff. You will not leave hungry.
We enjoy FishTales and eat there every time we visit Galveston
We've been coming here for years for special occasions. Usually it's a decent experience, but never a 5-star experience. Yesterday we took my husband there for his birthday and received terrible service. Our waiter was very inattentive and we languished for long periods of time with no service. During the lunch, we told FOUR different people, including a manger, that we were there for my husband's birthday. Nobody even acknowledged what we said, much less did anything. The table behind us told their waiter once that they had a birthday and they got dessert with singing, the whole package. We got ignored. We have always eaten here for special occasions when we're in Galveston, but I think yesterday ended it for us.
Great location but very disappointed with the food. Everything was overcooked and the crawfish etouffee was terrible. Hoping it was just a bad night in the kitchen.
We enjoyed the excellent food and friendly service, also we had a nice view of the pleasure per and the beach. The ice cream bar was a delightful bonus!
Very friendly staff, the tea tasted very carbonated and soured, the bourbon street pasta i had tasted like fish juices. i was really disappointed with the way everything tasted.
The best part of my experience at Fish Tales was making the reservation using the OpenTable feature. I doubt I'll return to FishTales but I will use OpenTable again in the future.
We make it a point to visit FishTales when we come to Galveston. The food is great, sitting on the balcony overlooking the Seawall is fun, and using Open Table to reserve our seats is convenient and reliable. Our daughter loves the clam chowder! We love fresh seafood and consistent service, which we always receive at FishTales!
Such an amazing location. Prices are reasonable for such an amazing atmosphere. Service was great. Some other guests were feeding seagulls (which you should never do). Other than that, perfect.
Having reservations is helpful and truly love it during the off season. Have something off the healthier part of the menu because they can cook those cuts well. They do have straws that aren't paper, so you can ask for one. The timing between ordering and receipt of food was quick, so that was nice when it was during summer season. We used to go more often, but I haven't been in years due to location and crowds now. It was nice to go back and I plan to in the off season again.
Quick seating, friendly staff. Ariel, our server was Great. Sat upstairs, not fancy but very comfortable. Food was good and reasonably priced.
We both had the red snapper and both dishes were disappointing. My wife's fish was rubber in texture and the toppings looked like they had sitting out a while. My dish was blackened and had no flavor. Will not eat at this restaurant for the price we paid. Grotto is a much better place to eat for the money.
I had my whole family there for our annual vacation. It was a great experience- food was great , service was outstanding. We will be back next year again. Thx again
Normally have a great experience here. The gumbo however did not please and only a few bites were had. Another guest in our party ordered the fried shrimp and complained that it had absolutely NO flavor to them - very bland and just tasted like batter.
Also for a reservation 30 minutes after opening - the French fries didn’t taste fresh and were soggy.
Hostess seemed too distracted and didn’t really pay attention, almost a little rude. Got there and confirmed the reservation, table wasn’t ready. Waited a few minutes and then were told the table was ready and the hostess then walked off to seat another party before she sat us.
We enjoyed our dinner at Fish Tales. The food was great and so was the service.
We had a 7:00 reservation on a Thursday, ordered right away and did not get food until after 8:00. The server missed one order so it came out even later.it was very loud, our server was too busy to refill drinks, or check on us. Food was okay, not worth the 20.00 a plate we paid. We ate ate shrimp and stuff the day before for half the price and much better food. We didn't get out of the restaurant until after 9. Will not ever go back.
Our waiter was awesome, food was great, atmosphere wonderful! Could not have asked for a better last vacation day dinner!
We have been dining at fish tales for years and have never gotten a bad meal or service. I have a service dog, and u r very accommodating to him. Thanks for the any years of wonderful food. Will keep coming.
Our server Calvin was the best. We arrived early and the hostesses took care of us anyway and found us a place to sit. Great place to take large party.
My food was great. I had the shrimp scampi. My son’s fish was good. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips. The other order of chicken tenders was mediocre at best. The chicken was already battered and not fresh.
Our waitress was not her knowledge about the menu and gluten or fair free options. The high chairs were broken and filthy. Could use some major upgrades.
It’s was great food was great
My wife and I chose Fish Tales for our 49th anniversary dinner and were not disappointed , the meal was great.
Food was very good and service was excellent. Our server was Vanessa and she was fantastic!! We have been here many times and it never disappoints. Food, service, portion size and price are always good!! We will be back.
The only negative thing I have to say is only being seated next to screaming kids! I know it’s not the restaurants fault but other than that, Fish Tales was amazing ❤️
We were on vacation in Galveston and celebrating a birthday. Fish Tales was in a fun location, and the menu had something for everyone. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. Our daughters loved that they could have ICEES with dinner!
I love the food and the ability to sit on the balcony and look across at the pier and water. The service was great as well.
Yearly tradition on our annual trip to the beach. Always a great evening with food and drinks. Service was superb, food was delicious, and drinks were refreshing.
The food here was great but the mixed drinks are pretty much all juice. If you want to drink I suggest you get beer or wine.
We really enjoy Fish Tales. The prices are a little much for the quality of some food. But the atmosphere by the beach and pier are really great. Our server was really excellent.
Food was delicious, But we made a reservation for 30 people a week ago and we had ONE server. It took some people an hour to get their beverage alone.
My server was AMAZING!!! He was very friendly took the time to help with menu choices and suggestions. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and just a nice person who made me feel VERY welcome!!!
Waiter was great. Food was delicious. I would absolutely recommend it.
I purchased a 10oz steak and baked potato meal and my baked potato was good but my steak looked like about 5 oz and I paid $25.00 for this meal and I do not think it was worth it.
4th of July dinner upstairs
The food was excellent! The service very good, our waitress was courteous and checked on us from time to time. She just missed a little smile. We definitely would recommend Fish Tales to our friends and we will go back in our next visit.
We had wonderful service from Fish tales employees! The food was good too, but a little overpriced for what you get! It is a more casual brand of the Landry’s chain, so that might be the reason.
Service and food quality has gone down consistently over the last couple of years. This time my drink from the bar was horrible and not presented in a pleasing fashion, salad and main course arrived at the same time and the fried oysters were way under cooked.
We made reservations hours before and were forced to wait 30 minutes to be seated after our reserved time. Waiter was great but waiting around made my whole group mad.
Food was not good service was very slow
