Yearly tradition on our annual trip to the beach. Always a great evening with food and drinks. Service was superb, food was delicious, and drinks were refreshing.
The food here was great but the mixed drinks are pretty much all juice. If you want to drink I suggest you get beer or wine.
We really enjoy Fish Tales. The prices are a little much for the quality of some food. But the atmosphere by the beach and pier are really great. Our server was really excellent.
Food was delicious, But we made a reservation for 30 people a week ago and we had ONE server. It took some people an hour to get their beverage alone.
My server was AMAZING!!! He was very friendly took the time to help with menu choices and suggestions. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and just a nice person who made me feel VERY welcome!!!
Waiter was great. Food was delicious. I would absolutely recommend it.
I purchased a 10oz steak and baked potato meal and my baked potato was good but my steak looked like about 5 oz and I paid $25.00 for this meal and I do not think it was worth it.
4th of July dinner upstairs
The food was excellent! The service very good, our waitress was courteous and checked on us from time to time. She just missed a little smile. We definitely would recommend Fish Tales to our friends and we will go back in our next visit.
We had wonderful service from Fish tales employees! The food was good too, but a little overpriced for what you get! It is a more casual brand of the Landry’s chain, so that might be the reason.
Service and food quality has gone down consistently over the last couple of years. This time my drink from the bar was horrible and not presented in a pleasing fashion, salad and main course arrived at the same time and the fried oysters were way under cooked.
We made reservations hours before and were forced to wait 30 minutes to be seated after our reserved time. Waiter was great but waiting around made my whole group mad.
Food was not good service was very slow
It was great as always. We always come to Fishtales to eat when we stay the night in Houston. Never had a bad meal and the view of the gulf is wonderful and relaxing. Keep up the good job.
I have to say that wasn't the best experience I've ever had at Fish Tales. We were thanked for being a Landry's frequent diner member. It was Sunday afternoon and I understand there were a lot of people, but our waiter wasn't the best. I ordered a Frozen Strawberry Margarita and waited close to 15 minutes for it. When it arrived, it was no longer frozen and I asked for a new one. Second one was okay but not completely frozen. I also ordered 1/2 grilled shrimp and 1/2 blacked shrimp (which was not on the menu but was told it would be no problem). I recieved 1/2 Fried Shrimp (Which I NEVER requested and the waiter argued with me). I don't understand. Everyone at my table heard me requested the 1/2 and 1/2 of which NONE were fried. The fried were presented first (not even hot, mind you). Then I received the the grilled shrimp which were burnt and tasteless. We spend our hard earned money for meals out...at least it could be correct. After this, not sure I'd return.
We had a lovely foreign exchange student as our waiter, and our service was great! We had a reservation and were seated pretty much as soon as we arrived. We were a large group and enjoyed sitting on the balcony. Drinks were great, food was ok but not terrible. We would return again.
We had a reservation for 8 but they argued it was set for 6 people. We wait 15 min for our drink order to be taken and another 20 min before we received the drinks. The appetizers were okay but our drinks sat empty many times. It took over an hour and a half before we received our food and was told it was because she had to run the food on her own instead of someone running it for her. Once we got our food it was cold, soggy, or just not good tasting at all! I did not receive my Landry’s rewards, she did not validate our parking tickets correctly and I had to ask 3 times for souvenir cup we were charged for and didn’t receive. We come to Galveston every year this was our first time to try fish tails and honestly hated it. When I mentioned I would like my souvenir cup so that we could leave stating we’ve been there for almost three hours at this point I was told at least it isn’t 12 hours. Not a good establishment, will not return or recommend.
For a busy day like father’s day one would think that you would have experienced servers work the larger tables. And it took asking twice for a hi chair before we got one. Our server was nice just didn’t have enough experience it seemed to handle a 7 top.
Im my personal opinion this place rocks. Easily the best seafood on the island. We'll definitely be back soon.
forgot to use my Landry card.
parking should be validated with the receipt.
My new husband and I went to Fish Tales on Saturday night for dinner. Due to medical issues, I cannot consume sugar, flour, carbohydrates. I clearly asked the waitress how the fish was prepared and she stated that it was pan seared. So I stated that I could not consume the items above and she said, ‘there was no flour or dredging done to the fish for cooking’. I also ordered all veggies instead of veggies and rice.
When the fish was brought, I was covered with crawfish sauce, which wasn’t on the menu... I had a bite or two and scraped off the sauce... there was a soggy, light brown coating on the fish... and we called her back and said it looked like it was coated in flour. She said she would take it back to the chef.
She returned saying the chef said it was the skin of the fish. Maui mahi is dark black and scaly... not light brown and soggy.
So we asked for a manager. He went back confirmed that they did dredge it in flour. They’re lucky I do not have an allergy! But they clearly lied or mislead me... I was sick in my room the rest of the night due to something they did to the fish and lied about though.
Of course they didn’t charge me for my meal, but my main concern was what if someone with a food allergy. Their waitstaff truly needs to know how things are prepared.
Terrible. Will never go back again. Our waitress upsold us on everything, we didn’t realize it till the bill came. The food was terrible, none of us enjoyed our meal.
Birds and flies all over patio and food. Very loud with race cars and motorcycles just over edge of balcony , no salt :pepper on any table, food overpriced but not bad
Fun, fabulous food, great atmosphere and got us seated quickly even with Memorial Day visitors. Reservations work!!
We eat out regularly and this was by far the worst we’ve had in a long time. Service was fine/friendly, but food and drinks were mostly TERRIBLE for the price. Calamari was decent and Pain Killer was ok (though weak), but the raw oysters tasted off (previously frozen???), big tuna salad was gross (again, previously frozen???), and wine tasted watered down and oxidized. Cut the prices in half and it might be worth the money.
Amazing food best of our entire lengthy trip. View was amazing, great ambiance. Everything top notch.
Gumbo was terrible. How can you be that close to the shoreline and not have fresh gumbo!! What a disappointment.
It’s average but just love the workers bc they’re so nice
We had a dinner after our wedding for 18 people. Andre was our server, he was phenomenal! Thanks Andre you made our night! Everyone was fantastic and so was the food! Thanks again For making our night special!
We drove to enjoy Mother's Day lunch, It was our very first time visiting this restaurant. Lyle was our server and he was awesome, very attentive. WE will definitely go back again.
Fish kisses first time tried them and would have everytime, avocado prawn dip was fresh and tasty. If this landry's standard will visit more while we travel through the South. Great experience-recommended but book first so no wait.
Very nice place. Food is great
Wonderful honeymoon dinner!
Nice table was ready soon as we arrived. Waitress was great and on point. Food was ok on the expensive side. 3 tabs and we all had a $20 tip
Servers were confused about who was supposed to serving us. Heard them arguing about it in their area.
It was a busy Saturday night, so with so many people needing to be served it was difficult to keep up with everyone's needs. They forgot silverware. Got first person's order wrong. Second person's order was very late. Tortilla chips were all broken and looked like they came from the bottom of the bag. Food was bland. They were friendly, but clearly overwhelmed and not properly trained.
Crawfish quality wasn’t all that great. Most of them very small, some nearly inedible.
Visiting Galveston and met up with some friends. Overall great place to be with others. The food is great and the view of the gulf is wonderful, whether your inside or outside. Actually went here two nights in a row to meet others.
We could not have had a better meal! Our server, Miss Wendy, was the best! All sorts of suggestions and modifications made for a perfect night!
