We had a great meal and experience at Fish nor Fowl. The calabrese pesto was delicious with the focaccia. Our waiter recommended it. We enjoyed the seafood linguine and NY Strip. Both met our expectations. We really enjoyed our meal here and plan to come back. Our waiter was very friendly and gave great recommendations.

I rarely post reviews of restaurants, but our recent experience at Fish nor Fowl was very poor. My wife and I had reservations before a show. We allotted ourselves approximately 95 minutes for dinner, which in our experience is more than sufficient time to dine (and post-COVID, many restaurants even impose an 90 minute limit for a table). We received cocktails, bread, and our appetizer fairly promptly. After that I'm not sure what happened. It took at least fifteen minutes to receive a second cocktail at which point our waitress apologized for the delay in our food, stating that, "it's just that time of night when everyone is trying to eat at the same time." I mean, isn't that pretty much expected at a restaurant, especially one that takes reservations? At that point we received no food, water, drinks for the next 40 minutes and no staff member even checked in on us. After we'd finished our second cocktail we had no food or drinks (even water) for almost a half hour. Nearing the time we needed to leave for the show our waitress never even returned so we could cancel our outstanding food orders. Our food finally arrived less than five minutes before we needed to leave for the show, allowing us to try a bite before having it boxed up. I prefer a slower paced dining experience, but a huge gap, most of which we didn't even have so much as water in our glasses, is really disappointing. And nearly $200 for essentially takeout destined to sit in the car for the next couple hours because of some obvious breakdown in the kitchen workflow is even more disappointing as well as how our table was basically abandoned by staff once there was a lengthy delay in our meal.

The food and cocktails were amazing!! I got the Tonica as my cocktail which was sooo good and the appetizer with burrata, prosciutto, and fig was amazing and the gnocchi was perfect. The only set back was it did take a long time to get our food and drinks but understandable since it was pretty busy.

Dominic was our waiter, and was outstanding. A sommelier by training, he was so knowledgeable about everything. Food was again outstanding. And, we loved being on the beautiful covered patio; dining alfresco is always our preference. And thanks to Alexander for his mixology skills.

Service was stretched due to mainly only one person covering the patio. Hence, additional drinks were not offered when needed. Our main courses took a very long time to emerge. Moreover, one of the pasta dishes was obviously thrown together too quickly: pasta wasn’t evenly cooked and guanciale wasn’t cooked in at all. The staff acknowledged and had the dish remade. To their credit, they removed it from the bill and comped a dessert. That said, the dish and service should have been better at the outset to avoid dissonance and need to compensate. Hopefully this was not the norm.

Overall everything was delicious! I do think the cocktail program needs a little bit of work as the drinks are watered down with a lot of ice (rather than a large cube) and the bread could be warm, but the flavors are fantastic and everything is so fresh.
