Fish nor Fowl
The food was fantastic. Highly suggest the lamb neck and fusilli pasta dish

Wonderful evening. The food is fantastic and the pasta can’t be beat. The service was very good and we felt very well taken care of. We would definitely go again!

Awesome service and recommendations from our server. The menu is a combination of more adventurous fare and some more traditional pastas/entrees that are executed with perfection. I normally go for more unique dishes at restaurants like this, but my eyes were drawn to the Chicken Parmesan and it was *exactly* what I wanted it to be.

Couldn’t have been better!
The dining experience was excellent. As we happen to enjoy fine Italian dining we were fortunate that they chose Italian fare for their offeringsAt this time. Overall, the experience was superlative. Grazie

Food & drinks were good, but pricey. The apps were the highlight - the maitake mushrooms & charred broccoli set the bar high. We tried a couple of the special entrees which were also good, but not necessarily a standout like the apps were. Atmosphere was nice, although seating couples along a long table close to each other isn't very private. Dessert was OK - the tiramisu was lacking in coffee flavor and very heavy on the creamy custard which didn't have much flavor.

Everything was so decadent, from start to finish. The drinks, small plates, pastas and entrees exceeded our expectations. Huge shout out to our server, David! He did a fantastic job of helping us pick the most perfect dishes.

Great meal! Very creative menu.
I was there with my young sons and it was great. Food was delicious and the vibe was nice.
Wonderful food, staff and ambience! Our server was outstanding, he made our experience fantastic
Great food. Recently switched to more pastas.
A wonderful night out for the four of us.
Everything was sooooo perfect! I can almost say that this was the best dining experience so far I have had in Pittsburgh (I’ve lived here for 4 years and I constantly go out and try new restaurants). We ordered foie gras, veal tartare and heirloom tomatoes as our starters and the foie gras and tartare are absolutely beautiful. And strongly recommend the grilled bronzino (for two), it reminds me of the bronzino I had in Italy! And the dessert—zabaglione is wonderful, too!
We are not ready to recommend yet--we had mixed feelings--some dishes were quite nice but one dish was too salty; there is a heavy reliance on ricotta in many dishes; all the food was rich; some of the pasta was hard because not properly cooked. And some of the dishes are very expensive as in $16 for a small bowl of plain pasta. We will wait a while before returning.
The entire dinner was indicative of what we have come to expect from the RDRG. From the service to the thoughtfulness of ingredients that went in to everything, we were impressed at every stage. We’d definitely recommend Fish nor Fowl to anybody who is looking for a great dining experience!
Amazing food complimented by awesome service!
This was my husband's birthday dinner. The food and service were both outstanding. We will definitely come back.
The food was fantastic, my wife and I enjoyed the grilled Branzino, fried potatoes (crispy on the pit and soft on the inside) and the mushroom risotto. All three dishes were excellent and cocktails were very good too. Would recommend to anyone wanted a good meal, nice cocktails an upscale ambiance.
Really fabulous food, but even better service! The upstairs bartender made us great Manhattans and gave us nice info on the other cocktails. Our table server was professional, knowledgeable, and super-nice! Great experience! And again, the food was fab!
Great new menu. Great service. Smart casual. Great date night or special
Occasion. Pricey but it’s worth it. 2 apps, 2 drinks, 2 pastas = $100
The more focused menu is a welcomed change, pasta dishes were fantastic hitting all the right notes. If this place allows for a not-rushed dining experience, it should be expressed prior to dining: meal took two hours, very unnecessary.
Truly, everything I ate from all categories exceeded my exceptions. And, the variety of offerings are so unique. The service was impeccable, so, so kind and efficient.
If you try this restaurant, you will be writing a 5 star review too.
Loved it all. Gorgeous food. Gorgeous ambiance. Fabulous staff! Wonderful all around!
Best hidden gem in Pittsburgh right now.
Food and service was excellent. The music was a bit too loud. I never can understand why higher end restaurants feel the need to blast music as if it’s a bar rather than a restaurant. It’s not a relaxing dinner when we have to raise our voices in order to have a conversation. That said, we will be back.
The hostess and the waitress looked very “mad”. The waitress sounded very judgmental when taking our order. Attitudes are a huge part in the hospitality industry and our experience here was extremely low.
We sat on the second floor and it was relatively quiet but the environment on the first floor was more open and lively. The ceiling on the second floor was also lower than normal and it gives you a depressing feeling.
The food in general was alright. Was disappointed with the foie gras and steak. I highly recommend their caviar and halibut collar. Otherwise there wasn’t anything that really amazed us.
The interior decorations had a theme but lowkey inconsistent. It feels like the designer couldn’t decide what he or she wants or there was a lot of conflicts and arguments between the designer and owner so they reached a suboptimal choice lol. The pillows are actually spikey, so it hurts your skin on the back.
Had high expectations but was really disappointed.
Outstanding meal with a spectacular service team.
Food & service is terrific.
Fois gois was absolutely delicious fresh and tasty. Linguini with truffles was wonderful.
Our waitstaff, Crystal was outstanding.
This restaurant is excellent every time. Have never had a bad experience.
Waiter was friendly, knowlegable, courteous and attentive. Food was very good and reasonably priced except for the duck which seemed a little high. The brussel sprouts were excellent as was the lobster/caviar appetizer. The skate was also very good. Wine list was adequate and reasonably priced. Would recommend the restaurant and will likely return.
Went there for one of my best friend’s birthdays and couldn’t have asked for a better meal, service & overall experience!
Lovely decor and delicious food - flawless felt like I was in Brooklyn or NYC
Absolutely amazing, finished everything! Service was wonderful as well!! Will definitely be back.
Food is extravaganza and service is very attentive. Like the design so much where abundant plants and the stylish furniture together bring tranquility.
Portion is gigantic, be cautious when ordering. Large means a lot and desert is meant to be shared.
Unique menu, nice delivery and everything we ordered was delicious. Great service too.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Will request upstairs seating on my next visit.
We thought it was a great experience in dining. The food was creative and delicious. Drink menu was the same. Our server was friendly, helpful, and a delight. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone one, especially foodies.
We went here for date night this past Sunday. Not only is this restaurant beautiful inside and out, the food was outstanding. We enjoyed three appetizers before our meals (yes we enjoy eating) and we couldn't decide what part we loved more. They have a delicious drink menu and the wine list was great as well. The service was prompt, kind and fun! Cannot wait to go back!
Outstanding meal, our server who was also the bar tender was so knowledgeable and made the best suggestions as far as the menu. Highly recommend!
We dined here based on reviews. However, food ingredient combinations were too experimental for me. Wine prices were extreme. This is Pittsburgh after all and not a 5-star restaurant. Waiter too pushy regarding ordering more food. Ambiance is very nice but located in an iffy neighborhood.
We have not been here since they changed the menu format. In many ways it was an improvement because the other times we had were here we could certainly see that the average person would not want all these fancy dishes with innumerable ingredients. It was fine for me, but many other people were not happy. We would say the food was decent, but in every case it was one step below being actually great. There are certain refinements that are clearly not being perfected. It is almost as though “good enough “ Is good enough. I have to say that all of the DeShantz restaurants are suffering from perhaps a lack of management and an executive chef with overall vision. I don’t like to generalize but I would say that overall they are perhaps opening too many restaurants too quickly and the focus is not on making each one excellent, but rather making An interesting vision and quantity. It’s actually very sad for us because we have loved all of the restaurants when they first opened.
