My husband and I enjoyed our dinner. We ordered, Fried Oysters, Lobster Bisque, New England Clam Chowder, One Crab Cake, and the Scallop appetizer. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent and the ambience was nice. We would definitely return again.

The service was excellent - the problem is the food. It simple didn’t live up to the hype. We had the trout and the grilled lobster with a shared side of Brussels...nothing extraordinary about any of it. Our server was good and the sommelier was great. Doubtful we’d go back or recommend.

The restaurant was nice, food was tasty, and staff was pleasant - however, FISH does not match expectations for a Jose Andres property.

Aspects of the restaurant decor were garish (e.g. suspended fishnet over 6-top round) and detracted from the over-all ambiance (two 72in vertical wine reefers along the courtyard windows beside the service point-of-sale station).

Food was tasty - but food temperatures were off. Our seating was early - and the restaurant was not crowded even as we departed. The food sufficiently tepid that we knew it had been cooked - but - had obviously sat waiting for service personnel to pick up and deliver.

Host staff were pleasant in greeting - got checked in and seated efficiently. Service staff was sloppy in appearance, appeared unwilling to / incapable of making recommendations and did not contribute to a positive experience overall.

FISH appears to have lots of potential and poor managerial execution.

Delightful venue, but I was disappointed that the tasting menus leaned so hard on shrimp and mollusks, with so little actual fish. I would have liked to be offered a medley of braised, roasted, seared, fried FISH, rather than the shrimp-cocktail etc. crowd-pleaser fair.

We ended up ordering more specifically off the menu, which was great (very fresh! and not over cooked) but uneconomical—about $160 apiece, including light alcohol—which was more than I thought this delightful evening was worth.

Love the high ceiling and the fishing-industry decor; was pleased that, busy as the place was, the Muzak was low enough that conversation was still easy.

We dined at fish for Valentine’s Day. The entire experience was fantastic. The food was excellent and just the right portions; our waitress advised us correctly about the portion size. The drinks were excellent. The ambiance was extremely well done. The only downfall was that service was a little bit slow, but it was a busy Saturday night, so I give the benefit of the doubt. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Given the menu descriptions and the prices, my husband and I were expecting excellent food. Unfortunately, that’s not what we received. I’m a huge fan of butternut squash soup so I was excited to order it, what came out was a $14 carafe of watery, tasteless excuse for soup. If you want excellent butternut squash soup go to Seasons 52, you will not be disappointed. My husbands lobster bisque was similarly disappointing, save the two bites of actual lobster. Then we got the crab cakes. These may have been the most bland and disappointing crab cakes I’ve encountered in MD yet. Thankfully, we got the Brussels sprouts, those were quite good which is the only reason I gave two stars for the food. Overall the food was underwhelming and not worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Jose Andres is a visionary leader, transcedning the culinary realm and providing us a beacon in these trying times. I was very lucky that he was at Fish on the night I ate there, an experience. Fish is terrific: the food was sublime, the decor was exciting, the service was top-notch. We had a wonderful night. Highly recommended.

We went did the Jose way tasting meal with pairing. Three of the five pairings came out after the first tasting for each of the wave. There was very little information about the wines or tasting giving. This type of service is not what we are used to in a tasting menu. We went for a birthday celebration. It was listed in the opentable reservation and we told our waiter. He said he was going to do something. He did not do anything; however, surrounding table we given a small desert with a candle. The food was excellent but the service was not comparable. Definitely will not recommend your restaurant!!!

Very delicious! We visited during Restaurant Week, and got delicious food for a good value. The mussels were succulent, the hush puppies were sweet, and the trout was seasoned perfectly. I enjoyed the wine selection that accompanied the menu. I will definitely visit again. It is worth the drive around the Beltway.

Food. Beyond excellent
Restaurant design/decor. Excellent.
Service. After a problem w/ getting first round of drinks and cocktails, good.
Noise level. Very loud. Annoyingly so.
Value. Food-wise - excellent. But, found the wine list to be very expensive.

We had a table reserved prior to a show at the MGM theater. We have dined at other JA restaurants in various locations (DC and elsewhere) and always have had a great meal and experience. This one was not as great. The dining and bar spaces are beautifully designed. The oyster bar space and selection looked terrific. The sangria was delicious. But despite an early table, our choice of entree was sold out. We were not ordering from the Restaurant Week menu, and our first choice was not part of that menu so it was surprising. The cobia entree that we chose was so salty that it was close to unpleasant. Also, the view from the restaurant to the exterior focused on a wall where a series of slobbery dog videos was projected - it was kind of gross to have to watch that while eating dinner.

My table reauest was meet, very happy about that. The drinks and food were great. Only trouble with the food is it was warm and not hot. The taste was great! The service from the front door to our exit was excellent! Would recommend to others. I have allergies to seafood and was surprised at the non seafoid choices. Would have gotten 5 Stars if the food arrived to my table hot. Other than that a very strong 4 Star restaurant.

After so many esteemed recommendations, I was very disappointed. The food was horrible and it is completely overpriced for the portion size and taste of the food. Under the “what would you recommend this restaurant for?” question “nothing” is not an option; but it should be because I would recommend this restaurant for nothing.

Our meal was a dining gourmet experience. I had the Restaurant Week menu which gave me an opportunity to experience an appetizer (sauteed mussels), main (roasted rainbow trout) and dessert (mud pie). My wife ordered the braised lamb neck and fried oysters. Our server was helpful and candid. The sunset and MGM kiosk view was enjoyable.

But the service and presentation of his food was very poor executed. Would I go back again, maybe just if I happened to be there for some reason. But def would not go out of my way.

Fish exceeded expectations. Our waitress, Hailey (?), was attentive and friendly even though she had a large, rowdy table next to us. The food was amazing! Everything was fresh and delicious. My only complaint is that we had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation.

Went here during Restaurant Week 2019. My husband and I decided not to order from the RW menu but instead ordered from the regular menu.

My order: Grilled caesar salad with fried oyster - Tasty and loaded with shaved parmesean.
New England Clam Chowder - Not your traditional "thick" chowder but more of a cream colored broth. VERY TASTY but don't be alarmed that it is not loaded with potatoes or clams and isn't "hearty".

Huspuppies with honey butter - tasty and delicious.....slightly heavy salt dusting.
Cheddar biscuits - yummy and tasty.

Dessert was the Mud Pie- unexpected VERY small bite of chocolate, expresso and whipped cream. If you like big portions DO NOT ORDER THIS DESSERT LOL

My final critique is the placement of my table. My husbands back was in the aisle and I was bracing myself for a dropped tray as the wait staff avoided a collision. It was basically poor placement of the table.

Now let's talk about the service....Our waiter was knowledgeable and pleasant and I have no complaints about him but i do want to note that the chowder was brought out by another staff member without a spoon. When he put it down on the table i told him that i needed a spoon and he looked at me, left the table and never returned. We had to grab a passing waiter to ask for the spoon. Customer service needs improvement.

Wonderful experience at Fish. We were seated at a round table in the bar area for our party of 7. Upon using the restroom, we saw a round table for 7 in the formal dining room and politely asked to be reseated. The Hostesses we so kind and accommodating. Our server - Christian - was both informative and responsive. And Javiar - the GM - was kind enough to introduce himself and make sure we enjoyed our meal. A wonderful experience with food cooked to perfection.
