The Lewiston Maine location is one of my favorite resturants to go to! Absolutley amazing food. Despite what people believe it is priced fairly and well worth the night out!

We have dined here twice, but a number of years apart. Both times we were very pleased with the location, ambience, service and food. We will come back.

Very neat atmosphere and great menu. Disappointed in pork chop toppings not being freshly made appeared to be canned peaches. Appetizers of mussels and calamari were both outstanding.

For a Sunday night the service was a bit slow. We were sitting for about 15 minutes before our waiter came by ! The food was good ! And value was also good.

With parents weekend at Bates College it took us three tries to get a reservation to this restaurant but the wait was worth it. Friendly staff and a lovely setting in a restored Lewiston mill, the food is outstanding. Whenever we're back in Lewiston this will be the place we'll want to go.

Always worth the drive; cool setting and interior in an old mill building; warm, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Service was stellar -- some of the best I've ever seen; kudos to Stacie! Food is always good, but I wish Fish Bones still had the superb grilled fish on their menu that gave them their name... and maybe a few more seafood dishes, too (although the Damariscotta oysters were lovely). Menu has been reduced in size and now includes more meat dishes, but prices are a little lower, too.

The food is always very good, though the portions could be a tad smaller. The ambiance is nice, with one exception: there was a noisy group that made conversation difficult at times. The cure is simple: a few good and well-placed acoustic ceiling panels. This is a complaint I have about many (otherwise good) restaurants these days: too often the ceilings are bare and highly reflective, making the noise level unnecessarily a major distraction (to put it mildly). This isn't very hard to fix, but owners don't seem to be interested in that aspect.

We were 3 couples together for a pre- theatre dinner seated in a smaller room off the bar area. As our meal went on, a party of at least 12, a party of 3 and a party of 2 were also seated in this room. The party of 12 were celebrating a birthday, I believe, and became outrageously loud. We could not hear our own conversations, so a gentleman in our party went over and politely asked if they could keep it down. He was followed by the gentleman in the party of 3 asking the the same thing. The large party was a bit snarky in their reply, but did keep it down a bit, although it was still too loud. We do not blame the large party - they have a right to celebrate loudly and we have a right to have a quieter dining experience. The restaurant should have seated us (and the other smaller parties) elsewhere and allowed the large party to have the room. I know for a fact that the 2 couples with us will never return to Fishbones, nor will they recommend it to their friends because of this incident. It was the first time at the restaurant for both and both eat out very frequently. Four of us had the Duck Confit which was good, however, a bit too smokey without balancing that flavor. The Lobster with Pea Ravioli was better. On a positive note, the Salmon was fabulous as was the bread basket mixture, the oysters and the salads (although, the burrata and tomato salad should have been served at room temperature - not cold!). Our waitress was terrific!
