Seafood
Fish Bar is DMK Restaurants’ chef-driven fish shack celebrating the freshest sustainable fish and seafood available in Chicago, 736 miles from the sea. New England and New Orleans are the focus of 5-times James Beard nominated Chef Michael Kornick’s menu, including raw oysters (from east and west coasts), Satchmo Po’boys, Maine Lobster Rolls (as they should be), Gumbo, Seafood a la plancha (preserved lemon, caper, parsley, chili flake), and s’mores (yes, s’mores). Fish Bar serves craft beers and sea sippers in its nationally acclaimed space for interior design. During the Summer, enjoy Fish Bar’s outdoor patio for some of Lincoln Park and Lakeview’s best alfresco dining. Fish Bar was proudly featured on the Food Network’s Sandwich King for its legendary Crabby Patty and actively supports charities focused on clean water and sustainable fishing.

Used to live in the area and would regularly pass this place never thinking twice about trying, often thinking it was another version of the Hampton Social. Had a random desire to try the place years later and I’m kicking myself for not giving them a shot sooner. Great food awesome service and even better ambience. Looking forward to the next time we experience this gem

PS when the only reservation is for bar seating don’t sweat it. Most of it is and you’ll be fine

Simple, yet thoughtful and refined dishes in a casual but comfortable setting. Not great for groups given the layout, but perfect for catching up with a friend (or two). If you are looking to impress skeptical New England-ers, this is the place.

Decent food and ambiance but very small, overpriced portions and drinks.

We love Fish Bar. The quality of the food is great, the taste and seasoning make Fish Bar among one of the best casual seafood restaurants in Chicago.

To start, they had no knowledge of this reservation. When I checked in, she told me they didn’t have a reservation, and when I showed her the Open Table reservation her comment was, “I didn’t know we were even on Open Table”. We did get the next available table. After waiting 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, we placed drink orders. We then waited 30 minutes for our drinks. No acknowledgment of the wait or checking in. When we placed food we waited another 20 minutes for food and one order never showed. When I finally got the attention of our server after eating our meals, I told him of my disappointment with the overall experience by saying “the food was good, but the over all experience was less then ideal and my friend never got her dinner. Can I please have our check?” to which his reply was “I’ll get the manager.” I didn’t want the manager, nor was I looking for anything other than our check to settle up so we could leave. The manager never showed and the server offered a half hearted apology as he handed us the check. Overall, I will not return and not recommend.
