Great service during Friday after work! They are amazing :)
We can talk much better than the other restaurants that we need to speak up louder. Atmosphere is nice & server is attentive.
We visited with our two children (4 and 9 years old) on a recent vacation. The grilled vegetables and mac and cheese were 'grown-up' good (one of the best mac and cheese's I've had) but the kids loved them too. Salad was great. Waiter was polite. The one unfortunate experience for us was that the waiter indicated that our food would be out 'shortly' but we were still waiting for it 15-minutes later, which was almost 75 minutes since we entered the restaurant. The cod we ordered that eventually came out was clearly rushed, not fully cooked, and had to be sent back. The restaurant was not busy that night so we think it was a miscommunication with the kitchen. We'd eat there again because the food was overall pretty good. It was "San Francisco prices," meaning that the small piece of cod on a side was about $30.
The food which great as well as the service. The bar could not make the requested beverage as they ran out of Aperal.
Terrible service. We had a 7:30 reservation, waited for at least 3 minutes to get seated. Waited for over 5 minutes for a server to greet our table and take drink orders. We ordered app and a burger for the kiddo when we ordered drinks.
We ordered salads and entrees about 10 minutes later. The app (oysters) came out a minute before the entrees were delivered. The burger for the kiddo arrived after that- over 30 minutes after ordering.
We ordered a chocolate soufflé for dessert. There were no food runners because it was delivered with melted ice cream and when I said “oh great there is some softening ice cream” the server told mad it was whipped cream.

We waited 30 minutes to get a drink, 50 minutes before our food came, and it wasn’t even crowded. They were clearly having issues with the staff, which was completely undermanned. At least the food was good.
I wanted so bad for this to be a great evening for me and my daughter on Christmas night. And I hate hate hate giving bad reviews. But my daughter ended up being quite sick after dining at this restaurant with stomach cramps through the evening and into the next day. We were supposed to go shopping at Union Square but couldn't be more than a few feet from a restroom. I cannot recommend this restaurant and especially not the fried chicken.
Turned up at our reservation time, and the host was very rude and told us we would have to wait 20 minutes for our table.
When we got our table, the service was very slow and the staff were very impersonal. Disappointed.
Disaster on Christmas Night. They intentionally over booked the restaurant, and they did not have enough servers. We arrived at 1815 for our 1830 reservation. The host was a befuddled dunce of a man. There were many would be diners just standing about. There were two empty tables that stayed empty. I knew it would not end well. We sat at the bar where the bar maid and bar tender treated us with utter indifference. By 1845 we had walked out the door. We had a nice dinner at our Union Square Hotel instead. Just aggravation, stress , and wasted money on an Uber ride. Surely this place will go out of business soon; what a nightmare. This place is not worthy of San Francisco.

The service was great and the location is good for downtown diners but I would not recommend it for the food, which was average. I had the fish & chips but substituted salad for chips. The outer coating of the fish was nice and crispy but the fish inside was mushy and the salad was way overdressed. My friends had Ahi Tuna and risotto that they felt was okay but not great.
We were the only two people in the restaurant for over one hour period - yet our lunches came out lukewarm. It was freezing clod in that restaurant but they agreed to close the door. Our waiter was nice but that's the only positive point!
Good food, decent, earnest service but pacing of food terrible. Dinner took forever.
We needed a place for dinner before the theater (Jackson & Battery). Fish and Farm seemed to be the closest, and most reasonable. The restaurant is in conjunction with a hotel, and across the street of the Embarcaderos. It has lots of TV's above the bar, so I suppose it can be considered a sports bar. Because we were dining early (6:00 p.m.), there weren't many other patrons. All that being said, the good was great! The crab cakes were full of crab and large. There were three large pieces of fish on the Fish & Chips. The pork chop served to my friend was huge! Service was attentive to our needs without being either hovering or ignoring.
We will definitely dine there again.
It's a shame when one employee ruins the whole experience. We enjoyed the food, but the attitude of the hostess Lily was beyond rude. The restaurant was empty. She was filling peoples water glasses, expediting food, but when I asked her to refill my iced tea she refused. After 15 minutes when I was still dry I asked again. She was standing at the hostess stand doing nothing. There was 6 people in the restaurant. Again more attitude and no service. Finally after another 15 minutes I got up to find my waitress. I asked her for a refill. Then I asked her if Lily conveyed my desire for a refill. She had not. I expressed my displeasure. The waitress apologized. I thanked her and promptly received my refill. For the rest of our dinner Lily stared at us giving us dirty looks. We all agreed it was a horrible experience, but liked the food. We won't be back.
If you are going to represent a "farm to table" product, your servers should be educated on the food and options for changes (even if charged for). Server was average at best. Menu was limited. Fish (salmon) was over cooked.
Great food and service. It was a Sunday night so perhaps the lack of customers from the next door hotel added to the more intimate ombiance. Also maybe why the service was so great. No way to tell but we had a great time.
Mussels appetizers were on the tiny side (small), ahi salad nice, grilled chicken sand was okay.
Mid- day very empty. Priced right.

Went w/a group of friends in town for a few days. The consensus was best mussels and fried chicken!!!!! Will definitely recommend and book again next time in town.

If you just want a bar this is your place not a place to go for a nice dinner. We regretted making a reservation and wañking over a mile to have dinner here. We wanted to go to a nice restaurant and this was far from that. Service was ok but staff smelled really bad. Fod was not bad but way over priced for the size and the taste. Would not recommend this place.

Having read a few reviews we decided to visit this establishment on our last night in San Francisco. We booked in advance via Open Table. When we arrived there were many tables free but the unfriendly hostess told us to wait while they cleaned a table.
The noise level was extremely loud as the table was alongside the bar, despite there being an entire empty dining room adjacent, and we had to shout across the table at each other for the duration of our meal.
After about 10 minutes we were seated and some water was slopped in our glasses (and on our table) without so much as a word.
Eventually our server came around and took our drinks orders.
A long time elapsed before he re-appeared to take our food order, even though the place was not that busy in the seated section.
As we placed our orders, the server proceeded to mock our accents (we were visiting from another country) and the way we pronounced the house dish. It was mildly amusing the first few times, but very quickly wore thin.
The meal was average at best - a bit greasy and on par with some restaurant chains - and definitely not close to the best food we'd had in San Fran (especially considering the price point and the sales pitch about locally resourced, high-quality ingredients).
As the server cleared our table he told us that the chef was a friend of his and we were "privileged to eat his food". I've eaten as some of the world's best and most exclusive restaurants and not even they have the audacity to tell me I'm privileged to visit their establishment.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, unless you particularly enjoy mediocre food with a side of condescension.
Service is very friendly and the place is rarely crowded; food was good but nothing to justify a special trip. If you're in the area and looking for a decent meal it's a good choice.
If you're in the Embarcadero area it's a decent spot for an unpretentious lunch or brunch. At times they seem a bit disorganized but not to the point of losing any 'stars.'

Very easy for scheduling and service. Only hiccup arose when they capped credit cards to 7 when we had 9 individual diners.
Party of two waited for an hour and a half for our entrée we ended up not taking it they comped it we paid for our drinks and an appetizer and salad when we got home and the food wasn't good
Disappointed. The description on open table was very nice, but reality was the opposite. The place was empty on a Saturday night, the restrooms were dirty and there was staff sittings laying on benches. Food was mediocre, and the service was good, but they didn't have any knowledge on the food. I suggest that open table changes the description. SanFran has plenty of nice places. So sip this one on your next visit.
