Fireside on Regent
Great place. Try it!
The food and service have always been good, every time I have eaten at Fireside, which has been several times. I was disappointed they were out of a menu item we wanted, as well as several of the beers listed on the menu, and the ice cream machine was out of order. However, I liked the beer our server suggested. I was surprised Fireside wasn't busier on a Saturday night, but understand busiest nights are when there are performances at Eccles, and suspect lower patronage is directly related to Eccles performances. I like Fireside a lot, and hope Fireside can find a way to be profitable enough to be able to have menu items, maintain variety and keep the soft cream machine operating. Good luck!
The pizza was great, we only got the Superior, which is just pepperoni, but it was delicious. The only negative comment I have is I ordered the margarita, and it was terrible. It definitely did not taste like a margarita.
SALT, SALT, and more SALT. Don’t get me wrong, I am a salt lover and do not hesitate to use it, however; this amount of salt made the food inedible. Seriously, how do you ruin a pizza with salt...they managed to. There were 4 of us at the table and everyone agreed. My husband, who has never been a picky eater, ordered the pork belly and could not even choke it down due to the curry like substance that was not described as spicy hot yet was so hot that he even said, he couldn’t distinguish which was worse, the salt flavor, the overall flavor, or the overwhelming spice. That being said, we paid and didn’t complain but knew this place deserved a review to warn others to proceed with caution.
Excellent food and service
Absolute worst service anywhere, anytime. Hostess seated us quickly and it was downhill from there. It was as if we were at the invisible table. We were one of three tables and as others arrived we were ignored. Never even got a glass of water or a "hello" to acknowledge our presence. Other tables got water and their orders taken. We waited about 15 minutes and finally the waiter said something like, I'll be back. He was obviously irritated by our mere presence. Another few minutes and the hostess came over and asked if we had been helped. We said no and she went behind the wall we assumed to say something to the irritated waiter. We waited about another 30 seconds and left. I will never go back there and I know it won't matter because they seem to always be busy but it was a terrible experience for no reason.
Now that Fireside on Regent takes a reservation, it is an excellent place to eat before a show at the Eccles Theater. Both of our meals were excellent- creative, delicious, good portions and excellent combination of flavors. I had duck breast with kale, polenta and blueberries- cooked to perfection and my husband had pork shoulder with potato dumplings and we shared a salad. Excellent service.
We had salads and pizza. Service was spot on. Salads were amazing. Pizza was soggy. Please use lest ingredients to keep crusts crispy.
This is a great little place with a friendly, helpful staff and an excellent chef.
First time was wonderful..
Went back a second time and they lost the ticket for our service and I couldn’t get served for 45 minutes. They tried to make it better by not charging us which was fine.
This was the third time we went back set down was not served for 20 minutes, took 25 minutes to get our glass of wine, as everybody else was served we were never served. They explained the ticket was lost after one hour. How does that happen two times in a row?
Will never go back and will let anybody else know that it’s not worth it! We have had several friends that have had the same experience thus don’t waste your time!
Our waiter was the best! The food was delicious. I love this place. the menu is interesting each time I make an appearance at the Fireside. But the waiter made the experience.
So nice to be able to meet with friends for dinner before our theatre shows. Now that I have conquered how to make reservations on line---life is much easier. Thanks for being there.
Fireside is our regular spot for dinner before the shows at Eccles because we love the atmosphere, food, and convenience. Their chicken and potato dish is the best ever!
So many good items on the menu, and ever one we got was excellent. Will need to return to try more.
I have started buying more tickets to the Eccles theater just to have an excuse to dine at Fireside. We always start with Caesar salad. The anchovy stuffed olives could be an appetizer in their own right. We have never been disappointed with anything on the menu but the Chicken Paillard and the Short ribs have been some of our favorites. It is always fun to try something new on their cocktail list and I have been happy with each wine I have been able to try.
Great mix of fresh food and pizzas
Really good food. Our table was right by the door which wasn’t ideal. The mozzarella was so good BUT TINY. Would have been better served with bread or chips. Really good food though.
Food was very salty and they had already run out of a couple lunch menu items at 12:00?! Pizzas are of a size to split for two,. But that wasn't obvious from the menu and when we asked the waiter, he said they were personal sized. Meh, probably won't be back
Had reservations for 6:30 and even though a table was empty we were told we couldn’t be seated until 6:30. Walked around for 15 minutes arrived back. Table still empty still couldn’t be seated. Another couple arrived at 6:27 and was seated at the empty table. We were seated at about 6:35 when another table was cleared and serviced. When asked why were not given the empty table we were told “that’ just the way it is”. Even though food was good would never recommend it to anyone
The service and ambiance were excellent. The food was great, only giving it 4 stars and not five because it didn't blow me away or make me feel like I NEED to come back. But it's a great location and worth stopping in. Make sure you have a reservation!
Always a great experience! Food and service is outstanding.
Waiter nice but did not write our food order down just “in his mind”, so we did not get our appetizer and one of the meals was wrong. We were going to a play so we said we’d keep the wrong meal and he acted like it was our fault and it was too to remake it anyway. 😳
Everything we tried at Fireside was great! Pizza, sliders and chicken entree were all very good. Price was reasonable too! Much more casual vibe than I anticipated but we like casual. Menu on their website was different than the current menu which was sad bc there were several things on the website that we were excited to try that they didn’t have. Fun location with lots going on around there.
This is a great place to start an evening at Eccles theater. I wouldn't consider it a dining destination independently of an Eccles event but it is perfect for those occasions.
Theater I love that the menu is changed up with specials, cocktails are creative. Ambiance is welcoming. Location is perfect, staff is friendly. Couldn't ask for better.
Food was good and interesting on the palate but service was sketchy and inconsistent. This is my second time there and service has been underwhelming both times though was never busy. Not likely to go back due to service and prices are a little expensive
We were met by friendly staff and were seated immediately. (We had a reservation). Scott our server was friendly and explained the menu and specials. He even recommended adding a flat bread with our mozzarella appetizer to enjoy dipping in the sauce. Our food came out quickly and surpassed our expectations. I would recommend this wonderful little restaurant to anyone. But, it does help to have a reservation.
Delicious food and great service! The staff remembers you and the love comes through the yummy flavors! All good is made from scratch when you order and you can watch it being made. Fireside is the tops on taking care of me and making me have the best dining experience!
Overall, we had an excellent dinner at this downtown location. The food was excellent and the beignets were to die for. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Reasonably priced, outstanding food and great service.
Food was very salty. Wait staff was pretty good but kichen was extremely slow.
Small menu but everything they cook is of the highest caliber.
Fun little place. Great service and very good food.
Lame seats. Narrow. We sat by door and I tried to like it. I’d imagine if I had a party a four and sat in the middle I’d give it 5’s across the board.
We had the Brussel Sprouts which tasted quite good but were cool and not hot. We asked for them as an entree’ and not an appetizer since the dish we ordered was not available but it was still served early. Uncomfortable to eat and inappropriate when no one else at your table has food. We had to ask for water and silver service, plates. I was disappointed.
Fireside is a cute little restaurant right on Regent Street on the east side of the Eccles Theater. My friend and I decided to try it out before a show the other night and were very happy with our experience. The menu wasn't quite what I expected, but the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend a reservation as it is a small space, but I will definitely go back!
I live downtown and I cannot believe that I have not been here until now. Best pizza in SLC and the wings were great. Unique caesar salad but very good. The head chef, Jesus knows what he is doing.
Even though we made a reservation over a week in advance and there were plenty of open tables 4,6 or 8 we were given seats at the bar counter. Not very appetizing to watch prep chefs do their thing.
Delicious food great service and friendly people. Must make reservations fills up fast.
This is my 2nd time dining here. The 1st was so good, I decided to take my husband before we saw Wicked! Great night all around, starting with dinner. We both loved it. We will DEFINITELY dine at Fireside on Regent again. Delicious food. Convenient location to Eccles Theater and parking. Yum!!!
Our party enjoyed our time and the food very much. The service was excellent as well!
