Fireproof Restaurant & Lounge
Nice change of pace for Columbus. Craft cocktails take a minute but well worth the wait. Service was very friendly and conversational.
Food was awesome and decor was great! Brian was our server and gave us great recommendations. Will definitely be back to try more menu items.
From being greeted at the door to sitting at the bar to then. Wing seated to our table we had great service. I will say it is very loud in here and it’s not for a romantic evening. I had the margarita which was delicious but for $16 that is a bit pricey. I found the desserts to be overpriced as well. I mean the place is cool inside and beautifully decorated and our food was very good. I would definitely come back maybe try happy hour.
Best tapas in Columbus! Our table of four got 8 tapas and split them. From the spinach salad to the dumplings to the chicken thighs and bronzino, everything was delicious and unique. Our only complaint was it was too loud. All hard surfaces and no fabric or noise cancelling decor. There was a DJ and music was great, but he forgot this is a restaurant and lounge. Need to find a way to cancel some noise.
A new favorite! Fabulous cocktails—try the g&t! Beautifully presented, delicious tapas. The elote...yum. Friendly staff and the atmosphere is just lovely. We’ll be back!
Everything was great! Would recommend!
The food was amazing and good priced, the drinks were very over priced. I ordered a vodka martini and it only was not made to the way I ordered it, it was also $17.
Blown away by how delicious the food was! Service was great, menu has so many options, food was out quickly and also the cocktails were amazing. Overall can't wait to go back! Prices are a bit high though, especially for shareables. Around 9pm the ambiance/vibe/patrons changes to a nighttime/club spot so next time I'll be there a little bit earlier to be gone before 9.
Nice ambiance. Quality of food was not quite worth the price. None of the dishes were particularly memorable.
It’s a very unique concept to Columbus. So glad there’s a fun, energetic place to dress up and go out! You have to try the crispy Drummettes and potatoes.
Love the tapas style menu. Impressed how lively the late night crowd was.
The service was great, no wait we got right in to our table. Food and wine were delicious
I have never been anywhere where the staff was so engaged and energetic. They took care of everything and catered to our every need. The decor and energy of the restaurant was unlike anything I’ve seen in Columbus and it’s exciting to see Columbus elevating its nightlife and cuisine.
The filet was cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is very lively and we enjoyed the upbeat environment.
The food was great! Service was pretty rough. We checked in and told in would be “one second”. 10 minutes later nobody had helped us and when we inquired about our table the management was confused that we were waiting. They sat us and the table was dirty. Table got cleaned and then we had a waiter come over but then we had no service for 5 minutes. New waiter comes over and takes our order. We had food attempt to be delivered three different times that was not ours. Overall good was amazing but service was subpar.
Chef Mike is a genius! Octopus is worth the trip in itself, and service was impeccable. Noise level is fairly high, but creates such hip atmosphere that you don’t mind speaking up a little. Best restaurant in Columbus, hands down.
Bar is great with very good service and drinks. Some of the many hostesses are good, not sure why they need 5 of them, but others seem uninterested. Menu is very large and has many options. Waitress was very inexperienced with the menu but said everything was good. We ordered salads/1st course with 2nd and 3rd courses. All came out random, my beet salad last. Chicken was >$30 and almost tasteless. Pork shank was dry and not flavorful. Asked for the som for wine to help decide between two we did not know. His recommendation was “they both are delicious”. All and all a great bar experience with good bar food and just another overpriced mediocre Columbus restaurant. Hope they can get their game together.
Our first time here. Fireproof is another step forward in the Columbus food scene. Fun night. Great food.
Everything was great! We ordered a bunch of small plates and shared them. The scallops were amazing!
Terrible service. The hostesses had no idea what they were doing and even though we made a reservation, we still had to wait 45 minutes and they had us move tables 3 times. Drinks took way too long. Would not recommend.
Great food, friendly ambiance and professional service. Highly recommended for business or pleasure.
Fireproof is a great new Short North tapas restaurant...a unique blend of Spanish and Asian menu choices. We sat in the front bar area which was fairly noisy (I thought that there were not any two-tops in the more quiet area, but when I went to the restroom, discovered there were indeed plenty of booths for 4 where 2 people were seated). Food quality was excellent and presentation was excellent as well. The restaurant appropriately spaced out our tapas which we appreciated. I would not describe most dishes as "small plates" though...the salad was definitely for 2 or 3 people; we got a very healthy serving of mussels, prepared perfectly, but not a small plate; the ahi tuna appetizer was wonderfully prepared. We had 2 glasses of wine and 1 mixed drink plus 5 plates and the bill was over $120 with tip...that seemed a bit steep.
Our server was new just out of training, and she did adequately.
We still recommend it highly; just beware of the cost.
What a lovely beautiful experience. Food unique and flavor packed. Ambience and service first class.
Beautiful and elegant interior, personable staff. Friendly and inviting establishment. Server was attentive and professional. Food was delicious, well seasoned. And came out promptly. Definitely will return.
We had a blast
Love the fact we could eat a bunch of different items
Drinks where fun and tasty
Server helped us pick a great wine and she was attentive and made the experience second to none
I went on a date here and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere is upscale with a romantic lighting. The staff were all extremely professional and everyone really seemed to function as a team. The menu is more than a list of items and prices; the menu is a reflection of the restaurant’s tapa-style concept, holding amazing quality that delivers! I definitely recommend Fireproof as an amazing new restaurant that really sets a great tone, adding to the hustle and bustle of the busy Short North. Go try it out!
The food if executed properly and well seasoned could’ve been amazing!
If you are 22 and like a restaurant as loud as a bar, where you can't hear the people at your table over the music or all the 'kids' screaming and laughing, and you like very overpriced average food, you prefer your server to forget the drinks you ordered - this place is for you. One bright spot - the Somm really knows his wine and was very helpful.
The food was served in small portions. Understand that this is a small plate establishment, but the price was too high fior what was served.
We waited 25min over our reservation time. The noise level was so high that I was screaming to my boyfriend in order to have a conversation with him across the small table. The food portions are very small and service seemed like it needed to work out its kinks.
We were so excited to try Fireproof after seeing the other reviews. This past Friday we had an 8:30pm reservation, we arrived at 8:25 & the atmosphere was great. Disappointingly we waited for almost 30 mins to finally be sat at a table. Then waited for our server to come by to say hello & take our drink order, he never came....after 15 more minutes we just decided to leave. The staff was erratic & stressed you could tell it was a tense/unorganized operation breaking down. I felt bad for them & I felt bad for us considering we don’t often get a chance to go out downtown, get a babysitter, etc. So disappointing.
Bar service was great. We decided to sit at the bar and wait for our table. We had a 7:30 reservation for my boyfriends 30th birthday and they did not have a table ready for us. We kept asking if it was ready because we saw numerous people come in and get seated before us. We found out that they ended up seating us in the bar area, not that actual restaurant. Which was disappointing as it seemed like out server could not keep up. Besides that- it was a good first experience.
Service was terrible. Food took at least 45 min to receive and drinks around 20 to 25 min. Server made excuses rather than taking accountability
Marcella was my server at Fireproof and she did a great job laying out all of the food step by step as well as the wine list for first time guests. Everything is small plates but big enough to sample with another person. We ordered wagyu dumplings, wagyu skirt steak, shrimp, and stuffed crab. Everything was delicious !!! Dessert, we had pistachio ice cream, mochi, and custard. Meomi Pinot Noir is best if you like reds since it’s nice and light and compliments every flavor. Ambience is also great for conversation and energy. Totally recommend and will be going back!!
It was very good. We let the waiter Brian pick our meal. We had 3 people that are good hearty eaters. We were not hungry after we ate.
I booked this place for my birthday. The atmosphere was great the drinks were strong and the service was incredible. We enjoyed it so much I really like how all the portions are shareable
Heard good things from others and it didn’t disappoint. We loved every dish, the cocktails were excellent and we really liked our server. We’ll be back.
The food is delicious. Great atmosphere
Had our 20th Wedding Anniversary there recently. Amazing. Everything was perfect!
We had outstanding service. The place is beautiful. We celebrated two birthdays and our server treated us to 3 yummy desserts. I would definitely go back. Wonderful cuisine.
