Firenze Ratings and Reviews
I took my husband for his birthday. From the frosty martini to the veal chop pizziola made special for my husband, this was a fabulous dinner. The wine list was extensive, not cheap, but we had a delicious bottle to complement our meal. The waiter did not rush us, the atmosphere is cozy and romantic. We will definitely return to Firenze for another special occasion dinner. It's a keeper.
I went here for the first time and the food was excellent. It seemed really authentic. The service was even better. Our waiter look after us and even brought us extra deserts & wine on the house for us to try. It is a small quiet restaurant but has a very good atmosphere. I will be going back her on the regular.
We had a lovely lunch with friends. The waitperson was gracious as he answered questions before we ordered; he was attentive but not intrusive. Our Dover sole and Bronzini were delicious; they were filleted and boned expertly as we watched. The creme brule, and chocolate desserts equally delicious. We enjoyed the wine, and were given an after-dinner drink on the house. Look forward to returning.
The restaurant is very cute and romantic, with long candles and dim lighting. But the food was mediocre, and the service was not very attentive. The candle on our table burst into large flame, as it was too low, with matches stuck at the bottom, and we had to blow it out since no one was around to deal with it! Bread came with no oil, vinegar, or even butter, while the food was overpriced for what it was. Worth paying for the ambiance for a special dinner, but I don't intend to come back.
Went here for a last minute bday/date-night dinner. Bustling, small & comfortable family-style place with an authentic Florence vibe. Great wine selection, food was delicious. Desserts highly recommended! Lovely wait-staff who sang happy birthday to me. Overall great experience
Love the ambient and intimate atmosphere. Great friendly staffs. For appetizers, we had
Cozze in Guazzetto & Carpaccio Toscana; for entries, we had Pollo Scarpariello& Vitello Terra e Mare. We also ordered a side dish Garlic Mashed Potato, creme brulee and cappuccino for desserts. Everything (except for the veal being a little tough) were amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Friday night experience was fun. It was packed at 7:30pm. Every seat taken. Waiters scurrying to help the diners order and enjoy the drinks and food. Many food choices from seafood to steaks. Portions are fair. Service was attentive despite the crowd. Branzino was perfectly cooked. Chicken Florentine was full of flavor. We didn't sample dessert, but they looked really good, or really bad if you're on a diet.
This is our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. The Italian decor is charming. The waiters are very attentive and the food is very good. We are vegetarians and have found enough choices to satisfy us. It is a very small restaurant so it is probably not great for large groups (unless you can take it over in some way).
Second time in a row that we were served significantly overcooked fish .
The fish special consisted of dry salmon, a chewy scallop and rubberized squid. A member of our party sent it back after one taste, but wasn't served her replacement entree until the rest of us had finished.
Not the Firenze we had hoped to be bringing our friends to. This time I cannot promise to return. I can only say, "We'll see."
Not our favorite evening at this usually charming restaurant. Service was off--maybe because of the need for staff to serve al fresco diners as well as a full house within.
Toughened shellfish was served atop gummy black pasta. Who timed that food?
But we will be back. Firenze does have its charm!
There we were, on 2nd Ave. with the subway construction, and yet, we felt as though we were actually in Italy! The food, presentation, ambiance and sauces were amazing! The staff was pleasant, charming and helpful. They wanted to make sure you enjoyed yourself and that the meal met your expectations, which it did, and then some!! Thank you for a very delicious, enjoyable, pleasant and memorable evening!!
We arrived early for our reservation; we were seated promptly. However, it took 15 min to get a menu. We received our drinks rather quickly. When our waiter finally made it back to our table he explained the specials and then rather rudely advised us that we were required to order our entrees with our appetizers. So we went ahead and ordered our appetizers and entrees together as requested as we knew what we wanted. It then took approximately 20 min to receive our appetizers. Our entrees came out approximately 30-40 min after that. Needless to say we were less than impressed. My boyfriend ordered the squid ink pasta dish with lobster. It was NOT as described which was disappointing. We wouldn't return to this restaurant.
