I love this place. I always have. It is a sure bet. Don't bring the little kids though. Adults need a neighborhood place like this which is "screaming kids free."
All in all my experience at Fierenze was a culinary delight.
The veal was a little tough
Crowded and noisy on a Saturday night (no surprise) but food and service were great.
Always a neighborhood standout. Food always excellent. The menu is different from the old place but just as good.
Firenze is a warm, friendly and comfortable setting. With it new creative chef house specials abound. My veal chop with portobello and radicchio was superb as was my starter - mussels and clams in a tomato basil emulsion.
My wife had a salad of spinach, walnuts and gorgonzola and a house special pasta.Oh,I forgot the Tartufo which always makes me feel like there occasionally are great beginnings and endings.
Food great and great service very friendly would go back again. Nice outside seating
Intimate, romantic vibe. Very efficient and friendly staff. Delicious food!
Our third visit to FIRENZE and, as before, it was just wonderful. You go out for great food, that what you get. You expect good service, at FIRENZE you get excellent service. You expect not to be rushed and at FIRENZE the table is yours for as long as you want, much like most European restaurants. On the East side but still a great place to eat before or after a mid-town event./ J. Farley
the food was very good. We had the Branzino it was juicy and flavorful. We also shared a pasta dish with mushrooms and asparagus which was also very good. Nice mix of vegetables and light sauce made it a very light dish. The Bread is very good and the wait staff experienced and friendly. It is a bit noisy so you will have to talk loudly to be heard during prime dinner hours.
I have mixed reviews about this place:
The food was absolutely delicious and worth every cent; however, the service not so much. We sat down and the server gave us the wine list. We ordered, but they didn't have the bottle we wanted so the manager ran out to get it, no issue, but between the time of ordering and receiving the bottle we were not given bread & olives like the other tables, nor were we given a food menu. The restaurant was not very crowded at this time, there were 5 tables in totaled seated. The servers, including the buss boys, paid very little attention to my table vs the other tables around us. Our water glasses were refilled a total of 3 times and he was very cold towards us. I would love to visit this restaurant again, but it is very clear my date and I weren't welcomed there.
Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences in Manhattan for both service and food in over 20 years. It's a small restaurant with two waiters who appear to be the owners, or at least act like it. After waiting almost an hour for our dinner, I thought I saw our food coming out, but it passes for the table behind us. I hear the woman at the table loudly exclaim "finally." The waiter continues ignoring us as he had the entire hour. As he walks by this time I ask if our food is coming and he says the most memorable line ever. He points to the table that just got the food, and says with a smug and unapologetic face, "you're next." I didn't realize we were eating at a deli counter. Meanwhile, the food doesn't come out for another 10 minutes, making it a good hour for two simple dishes. It takes 10 minutes to get the check, and another 10 minutes to get my credit card back after asking the waiter where it is to sign bill. No one even thought to apologize or offer any explanation for the delay. It was like that's how we serve here, and if you don't like it, don't come back. Oh, and just when I thought the experience was finally over, I felt suddenly very sick when I left the restaurant. It was the kind of sick when I eat in a suburban Italian restaurant that needs to drench their food in butter to give it taste. I have not left a zero tip in probably 10 years, but this was well earned. And even, the experience didn't end. At 1 am they cancelled my reservation to try and prevent me from giving a review. Be warned customers, plenty of great Italian restaurants in the city. Stay away from this one.
Have been going to Firenze for years, the food and service is excellent. The old location (lost in a fire) was much more cozy, but the new location is fine.
Food was average, service excellent , ambience homey, noise level quiet ,a good neighborhood restaurant
Unfortunately It was a holiday weekend so the restaurant was quite empty, although the few tables outside were filled. We both had white wine: savion blanc and pinot grigio - both finishes were a little off. The food and service was good as well as the prices. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant.
Great food and great service! I recommend this place to everyone.
It was great as usual...yummy food and good service
Waiter sucked. Asked for some extra olive oil and he basically refused. Waiter appeared as though he rather be playing cards with his friends than serve people.
An incredible place to enjoy a tranquil evening. The atmosphere makes you forget that you are in a restaurant. You feel right at home with top notch wine and superb gourmet food. If you’re looking to go out on a date, whether a first or sentimental night out, this IS the place. Grazie mille per tutto!
Waited a long time for food to arrive
This is not the place to go with young children. It took over an hour after we ordered for the food to arrive, and that was at 6:30pm when the restaurant was not crowded. The waitstaff tried to make up for it with complimentary desserts, but it was too little, too late. The food is just okay and the place feels dated and a bit cheesy. Also, one of the air conditioning vents dripped on my shoulder throughout our meal.
Two things I did like were my dirty martini and the bruschetta.
Very nice people. Good food.
Staff was super attentive, food was amazing, and beverage choices were fantastic.
Air conditioning was spotty even on a very hot day.
While the servers were very nice, the service itself was terribly slow. It was almost to the point of being uncomfortable because everything took painfully long. The food was mediocre unfortunately. The atmosphere was cute and cozy. The owner or manager did approach at the end of the meal and offered a complimentary after dinner drink. That was very nice although we didn’t take him up on it because it was already late.
Loved the service, ambience and food! Our waiter was very attentive. Food was great!
The calamari was under-cooked for my taste. The main pasta dish was pretty good, though. Service was great - friendly staff. A bit pricey for the night. Could have pigged out on sushi for what we paid. There are better Italian places that you should consider first.
What a pleasant surprise. Had dinner here the other night with no great expectations. The atmosphere is quaint and lovely. The food was incredible...from the bread/olives to the appetizer and entree. Liked the wine as well and our waiter was just fantastic.
Can't wait to come back again...
Delicious and lovely atmosphere.
The staff was very accommodating.
Would definitely return.
Went for a birthday lunch on a Friday food was superb. Can’t wait to return
Slow service and had to remind waiter to bring a second bottle of wine. Food was about average.
Excellent service. Quiet atmosphere. Food was very good.
1st time here. Very pleasant to sit, eat, talk. Option to sit outside, weather permitting.
Nice presentation of food.
Our family enjoyed our Father's Day dinner at Firenze and we plan to return.
Celebrated my brother's 78th birthday for prix-fix lunch, but also ordered off menu. Restaurant wasn't busy and waiter attentive. Food was excellent. So glad they moved, former location was not as airy.
We dine at Firenze often but this was our first brunch/lunch. We were joined by 4 friends and this was also the first time we were part of a relatively big party. The staff was very accommodating and our friends couldn't thank us enough for introducing them to this lovely place. Food was wonderful, as always. We love Firenze!
Lovely restaurant to sit outside for dinner. Food was good (swordfish and tuna special with calamari). Salad was good too. The bruschetta brought to table to begin was delicious, as was the bread. Had a nice rose wine for a warm evening. Service was great! I will be back.
Such a romantic restaurant! Delicious food. So much attention to detail. Definitely will go back!! Highly recommended
The meal we had was weak starting with cold and old bread . I do not thing these people have been to Italy . Room is pleasant , people were friendly. This Italian cuisine would be acceptable maybe in the mid west not in NYC
This was a horrible experience with kids. We walked in and all the staff were extremely grumpy. Then the waiter was very rude. Waiter did not announce any of the specials, and when we asked for additional plates he went away mumbling under his breath. When we got the plates they were wet. Overall a completely horrible experience.
