Firenze Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent, but the service was not good most likely because it was New Year's Eve. They also seemed a little disorganized. The restaurant was extremely noisy. It is probably better for a special dinner , but not on a holiday like New Year's Eve.
Absolutely wonderful. We had ben to the ither location last Christmas and when we came back to town we knew we would go back. It is out of the general tourist area but very easy to get to from midtown by bus. We knew the restaurant would be bustling later in the evening on Christmas day so we booked for an early dinner at 5pm. Service was attentive and not rushed which is exactly what we like. Food was amazing and we had calamari and bruschetta to start which were tasty and a great start. I had the branzino for the main and it was cooked to perfection. Sadly too full for dessert. Will definitely go back when in town again and highly recommend this place.
It is always a pleasure to eat at this neighborhood favorite. We are treated well and the food is wonderful. There are always daily specials and a friendly staff. You can pop in for a drink as well. The bar is cozy, service is great and you can eat at the bar as well.
I would love to tell you about Firenze but when we went to the restaurant at the time of our reservation there was a sign in the window saying they were closed due to a gas leak. Neither the restaurant nor Open Table informed us about the closure and we were forced to scramble to find another restaurant that could take us on such short notice. While the gas leak was out of their control, calling the people who had confirmed reservations to alert them Was NOT. Very very disappointing.
This was our first time at Firenze. We were a party of four and everyone enjoyed their different meals. We were there on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full. Service was very good and not rushed. The waiter apologized for dinner taking a little longer but none of us noticed. We will certainly return.
Since the fire destroyed their former location, this FIRENZE was extremely disappointing. We had always been impressed and pleased, but all four of us were in agreement that there was a major problem from beginning to end. Though apologetic, minimal attempts to rectify the situation were insufficient. We were saddened as we looked forward to returning. It is very unlikely that we'll return. With the experience we had, we don't expect this restaurant to be around much longer.
Been coming here for 25 years for the Veal Lambrusco! Everything else great too.
Our automatic "Go-To" place for Anniversaries and Valentines Days especially.
Still remember our now 22 year-old in a portable car seat next to our table being fussed over by the warm staff while we ate our Lambrusco many years ago. Great food and great memories here.
Good to get back to Firenze. Food as good as ever. The special green bean/mozzarella salad was superb and my Vitello Lambrusco just hit the spot. Took friends who love veal and they raved about their meals. My wife's halibut was also terrific. Keep it up Firenze!
Our waiter, Jack, was wonderful! He was attentive without being distracting. He described all the specials and allowed us time to review the menu. We ordered our drinks, which were also very good! I ordered the stuffed squash appetizer, which was delicious!! My husband ordered the thinly sliced carpaccio with arugula and shaved parmigiano cheese. Wonderful!! For our entrees, we ordered the swordfish piccata over spinach and chicken sorrentina with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Both were served hot and had an attractive presentation. Now for dessert. If you are a fan of zabaglione, then you must order it! It was prepared in the kitchen and brought to the table in the traditional copper pot. It was then poured over thinly sliced fresh strawberries. Absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
One of my favorite spots on the UES. Exemplary food, service and atmosphere at a relatively reasonable price. Perfect for a romantic date. The service is attentive without being obtrusive. A delicate balance that only the most professional wait staff learn how to master.
