The meal we had was weak starting with cold and old bread . I do not thing these people have been to Italy . Room is pleasant , people were friendly. This Italian cuisine would be acceptable maybe in the mid west not in NYC
This was a horrible experience with kids. We walked in and all the staff were extremely grumpy. Then the waiter was very rude. Waiter did not announce any of the specials, and when we asked for additional plates he went away mumbling under his breath. When we got the plates they were wet. Overall a completely horrible experience.
I figured I would try this restaurant based on how nice it appears both inside and out. The food was very bland and uninteresting. When I asked the waiter for a rose wine by the bottle (there are none on the wine list) his response was "we have one" and brought us the bottle. It was the only one they had so we agreed to try it. Amongst 3 of us dining, we shared one salad and had three entrees. The bill was nearly $200 including tip. We obviously got taken on the wine and were very disappointed with the food (enough to not order dessert). I hope they consider replacing the current chef with one who cares about quality of the ingredients and with some creative talent. Until then, I will not be returning.
A large party was seated next to us, that's always going to be noisy, otherwise very nice.
My husband and I visited NYC for the first time in 4 years. We used to have an apt. there and ate in Firenze frequently. We took 6 of our friends from Florida to eat there on Friday, April 27th. They all said that Firenze was their favorite restaurant while visiting in NYC. Great food and great service.
Lovely ambiance. Great food and service. Will be back.
The food is unbelievable!
I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to after eating at this gem. Everything we ordered was beyond excellent! I cannot wait to make this my local spot!
I went with two friends for a birthday celebration and we were very happy with the experience, from beginning to end. We have long been a fan of Firenze. Highly recommended.
We stopped in for a late lunch, and we we're thoroughly satisfied. The chicken and buckwheat soup was fresh. Our main plates we delicious too. A nice portion of pasta pomadoro and chicken... Two glasses of wine with dinner, and a fantastic piece of Tiramisu.
The restaurant’s Valentine’s dinner was a total disaster. We left after waiting over 2 hours for our entrees-and were told it would be another ‘hour’ before we could even take the food home. The servers had no idea why the kitchen was so delayed. The managerial staff did not make any attempt to keep us happy while we were happy. The only positive -to their credit -they did refund the cost of our meal as we were leaving
They were obviously over booked and couldn't handle the crowd. We were sat at 7:15 and still had not gotten our main course at 9:45. Also, there was a mandatory prix fixed menu for Valentine's Day that was not advertised on their website or Open Table, and they had no prices listed. The service was slow, the food was mediocre, and the dinner was way overpriced (over $90 a head- revealed to you when the check arrives). In addition I found this restaurant to be inauthentic (e.g., the wine list had a limited selection of Italian wine and instead offered California and Australian) and I would not recommend visiting if you are seeking a Northern Italian experience. Very disappointing considering how wonderful the previous Firenze restaurant was.
The restaurant over booked and overcharged for a poor meal on Valentines Day. We had to spend 3 miserable hours.
Pleasant experience. Reasonable prices for a nice meal. Service was attentive.
Very good service, food and menu. Highly recommend for a cozy, quiet dinner!
The food was excellent, but the service was not good most likely because it was New Year's Eve. They also seemed a little disorganized. The restaurant was extremely noisy. It is probably better for a special dinner , but not on a holiday like New Year's Eve.
Extremely poor all around. One meal was barely edible. Very noisy. Veal tough. Preparations not high end cuisine. Poor service. Expensive too!
Fantastic service and the best quality. Reminded me of my trip to Florence.
Good experience. Quality Northern Italian dinner. Quiet restaurant. Excellent service. A neighborhood gem.
Absolutely wonderful. We had ben to the ither location last Christmas and when we came back to town we knew we would go back. It is out of the general tourist area but very easy to get to from midtown by bus. We knew the restaurant would be bustling later in the evening on Christmas day so we booked for an early dinner at 5pm. Service was attentive and not rushed which is exactly what we like. Food was amazing and we had calamari and bruschetta to start which were tasty and a great start. I had the branzino for the main and it was cooked to perfection. Sadly too full for dessert. Will definitely go back when in town again and highly recommend this place.
It is always a pleasure to eat at this neighborhood favorite. We are treated well and the food is wonderful. There are always daily specials and a friendly staff. You can pop in for a drink as well. The bar is cozy, service is great and you can eat at the bar as well.
Not for everyday meals owing to prices, but otherwise very good food and lovely atmosphere.
I would love to tell you about Firenze but when we went to the restaurant at the time of our reservation there was a sign in the window saying they were closed due to a gas leak. Neither the restaurant nor Open Table informed us about the closure and we were forced to scramble to find another restaurant that could take us on such short notice. While the gas leak was out of their control, calling the people who had confirmed reservations to alert them Was NOT. Very very disappointing.
Third time there and finally was seated at the right time. Service was slow, meandering and uninspiring. Food was good but not better than any other Italian place in the neighborhood. Average all throughout.
This place overbooks its reservations. Had a bar full of angry guests being seated more than 30 minutes after their reservation.
This was our first time at Firenze. We were a party of four and everyone enjoyed their different meals. We were there on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full. Service was very good and not rushed. The waiter apologized for dinner taking a little longer but none of us noticed. We will certainly return.
This is my favourite restaurant on the Upper East Side. All the staff are extremely welcoming. The bar area is great before dinner and the food is always consistently delicious. Love it!
Since the fire destroyed their former location, this FIRENZE was extremely disappointing. We had always been impressed and pleased, but all four of us were in agreement that there was a major problem from beginning to end. Though apologetic, minimal attempts to rectify the situation were insufficient. We were saddened as we looked forward to returning. It is very unlikely that we'll return. With the experience we had, we don't expect this restaurant to be around much longer.
Been coming here for 25 years for the Veal Lambrusco! Everything else great too.
Our automatic "Go-To" place for Anniversaries and Valentines Days especially.
Still remember our now 22 year-old in a portable car seat next to our table being fussed over by the warm staff while we ate our Lambrusco many years ago. Great food and great memories here.
I was disappointed when the original Firenze burnt down. I was delighted to know it relocated. The food as usual was superb. The staff was very attentive
Good to get back to Firenze. Food as good as ever. The special green bean/mozzarella salad was superb and my Vitello Lambrusco just hit the spot. Took friends who love veal and they raved about their meals. My wife's halibut was also terrific. Keep it up Firenze!
Love the new location. Could easily pretend I was in Italy. The food is delicioso!
Wonderful services and decent food.
I live around the corner and this was my first time there.
Lovely ambiance and candlelight with great music.
Food was good if not wonderful but the service and ease made up for it.
I will go back!
Firenze is wonderful. We are so lucky to have it in our neighborhood. We wish them all the best in their new location!
We had a wonderful meal. All dishes were prepared perfectly and well seasoned. My compliments to the chef! The ambience was attractive and romantic. I'm looking forward to a return visit.
This was a pleasant find. Obviously a neighborhood place although a bit upscale. Excellent food and service however. Would absolutely return.
Nice atmosphere, good food, had to be off nite for service.
Loved the new space. A very comfortable neighborhood place. Excellent food. Large drinks and attentive service. A quality restaurant. Never disappoints.
Fabulous. Highly recommend. Prices reasonable.
Our waiter, Jack, was wonderful! He was attentive without being distracting. He described all the specials and allowed us time to review the menu. We ordered our drinks, which were also very good! I ordered the stuffed squash appetizer, which was delicious!! My husband ordered the thinly sliced carpaccio with arugula and shaved parmigiano cheese. Wonderful!! For our entrees, we ordered the swordfish piccata over spinach and chicken sorrentina with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Both were served hot and had an attractive presentation. Now for dessert. If you are a fan of zabaglione, then you must order it! It was prepared in the kitchen and brought to the table in the traditional copper pot. It was then poured over thinly sliced fresh strawberries. Absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
