Amazing food and atmosphere. One of my favorite spots in Wauwatosa!!
Too dark to even see my food...which just looked like a pile of brown...very uninteresting visually. Waitress reluctant to even give an opinion on entrees, didn't know what they were out of till I ordered and she had to check. She brought no value-add to the experience. Martinis were not chilled enough. Highlight was the calamari appetizer. Overall, not great for the money.
My boyfriend and I went for an anniversary dinner. This was my choice because my boyfriend would never have picked a restaurant that is considered "trendy on his own. I was really hoping he'd like it. Obviously, I was hoping I would as well. Good news! We both liked it very much. He would even like to come back. That is something Firefly can brag about. LOL. My spinach and quinoa salad was one of the best salads I have had in quite a very long time. It was fresh and tasted delicious. I ate every last bite. Had I been alone, I might have led to the plate. I had the salmon dinner and I really loved the chickpea and goat cheese that it was served with. Those are all some of my favorite things and Firefly did them very well. I don't often have old Fashions but I chose a black cherry old fashioned and I'm glad I did as it was refreshing and delicious. My boyfriend loves to the short ribs and enjoyed his wild mushroom soup very much. We both felt comfortable in the atmosphere. Our service was very good. As a server myself, I really appreciate good service. Thank you!
I was going to miss my good friend’s baby shower, so I made a reservation for us to meet here to celebrate instead. It was just the two of us but I asked for a larger table to accommodate space for gifts. It was a Wednesday evening so they happily accommodated.
The Firefly Mojito is seriously AMAZING and is included in happy hour, so a great deal too. My friend loved that they also had non-alcoholic cocktails, so she also got to have a “mojito.” We ordered a bunch of appetizers (all very yummy) and then a chocolate cake to end (plus one to take home for my kids, which again they happily accommodated.)
Beautiful location, fabulous atmosphere. Great service, our server that night was wonderful.
Party of 8 was unimpressed with the offerings from Firefly. The food was average to good, but there was no bread or pre-dinner food. I guess you must order an appetizer. Additionally, I was not impressed with the automatic 20% gratuity charge. Yes I read it on the menu beforehand, but our server did nothing for us!! She checked on our entrees AFTER we finished eating. She never came around at all, again banking on the automatic tip. I have many other restaurants that will provide great service, I will not return here.
Appetizers were great! Meal was ok. Main entree served before we were done with salads and appetizers
Loved the fireplace room. The skylight would be great during the day.
I hate writing a bad review. I do this in hope that as a small business owner, their ownership takes this to heart. My youngest daughter requested Firefly as her birthday dinner for the second straight year. My two youngest ordered off the children's menu, which is fine. Nothing too special. My wife and I ordered appetizers to share. The sliders were over-cooked and very dry. We also had the flat bread, which was pretty good. One of our choices never made the table and was listed on our receipt. Our server was very nice. However our kids were not offered any drinks other than water (we probably should have said something). Our food order, which was mostly off the kid's menu, took almost an hour. It was a Friday night, however the dining room was not packed, so we felt with three kids, the wait was not worth it. Even our nine year old birthday girl had a sense we just paid a good price for a below average experience. We do like to dine in the village and would go back; just not with our family. I think we'd give them another try at the bar over drinks.
The restaurant was nicely decorated and roomy. The happy hour is very limited and our waitress failed to mention that the slider appetizer was a minimized version of the full price one. Two of the people I was with had to send their dinners back because they were served cold, We ordered dessert and coffee and the coffee arrived a full 10 minutes before the dessert. Fortunately, they had made a fresh pot, so the coffee was good. The fish fry was pricey, we thought. One person in my group thought that all the meals had too much garlic. I like garlic, so it was not a problem for all of us.
Nice menu with lots of meat-free options. Appetizers and main dishes were served exceptionally hot, straight form the kitchen (yum!). Draft beer selection was limited ... would like to see it expanded with local craft brewery offerings.
