Always a great meal at Firefly service is exceptionally live the craft cocktails especially the Zsa Zsa came in for a fish fry which is endless and lovely
We've been here a number of times and come back because we like the food and the atmosphere.
To be honest, this restaurant was a little bit of a let down. We went to celebrate my birthday, and I was just unimpressed. We were seated and were not helped for at least 10 minutes. From there, I was just frustrated. The food and cocktails were good, but it just seemed as if we were an afterthought as a table, so the atmosphere made it feel less than a great meal. I wanted to like this place because it's an upscale restaurant near our house, but I'm not sure we'll be back.
We loved the menu and everything about our experience. I had the stuffed poblano peppers which were amazing.
Our drinks were great! Our meals were delicious! We we given a complimentary dessert which was so good. Our server was perfect! We will be back to try the fish fry. We had such a nice exoerience.
Food was decent. The pork belly was supposed to be crispy and ended up soggy and not enough of it. Were some others that were good but not great. Just can't remember.
We shared some of the shareable plates and they were really delicious! Especially liked the shrimp ceviche and lettuce wraps. Delicious and healthy too!
Server was almost non-existent for large group. Took 20 minutes to get 7 drinks from bar and then to order food. Food came out in reasonable time (salad course and then entree). As the host, I didn’t want to order appetizers for the table because service was already slow. Lost revenue! Server took forever to clear table after meal and, by then, we didn’t even entertain dessert or after-dinner drinks....and were never asked whether we wanted any! Lost revenue! Table was not watered or checked on for additional drinks throughout the meal. Again, lost revenue and poor customer experience.
Before meal, bar tab came with 20% gratuity added to it. I’ve never seen that on a bar tab, even for large groups.
No errors on food prep or delivery but food was only average. Not one person in large group commented positively or negatively on their food.
Restaurant and bar were not busy otherwise (maybe 2-3 other tables with 2 people each) so this was not a case of being over-burdened with customers. If the server was the cook, that would be the only explanation for the person not being in the dining room!?!
Overall, service killed the experience here and the food didn’t make up for it. I won’t be back personally or for a business occasion again...sorry.
The atmosphere was nice, the food was good, and the server was excellent. However, there was no host there to seat guests, just a sign instructing patrons to see the bartender for seating. It took a while to get anyone’s attention at the bar in order to be seated, and it would have been nicer to be greeted and welcomed to the establishment.
Mother' Day buffet brunch. Firefly opened on Sunday for three seatings of a Mother's Day buffet brunch. Fantastic selection of foods, all well prepared. Salads, appetizers, breakfast style food, lunch entres, deserts.
Great food and ambience. Ample parking in two public lots one block away (plus street parking). Safe neigborhood, close to Tosa village and amusements.
I would recommend going to Firefly for dinner on a normal night as long as the bartenders aren't your servers, but not for their Mother's Day Brunch. The price was not worth the experience by far. The buffet was fine, but nothing I haven't had other places before for far less. Service was the worst part. The tables were being serviced by the bartenders who were running around like crazy people. They just weren't able to handle the number of tables that were there with the type of service I would expect for a $150 buffet.
I've had a dining experience in the past on a typical weekend evening where I was seated in the front dining room but service was being handled by a bartender. Bartenders are not servers and they have other responsibilities to take care of besides my table so they just aren't there to handle what I need and they act like I am an inconvenience for being there because they are probably loosing out on tips from the bar by being made to act as a server.
Mother's Day Brunch seemed like a perfect example of a restaurant charging the customers the most money possible while keeping their own costs as minimal as possible. I had hoped the experience would be a good one (because my wife and I typically like Firefly) but the buffet and the lack of servers proved that they were trying to make the day as low cost as possible instead of trying to make the day as special as possible.
Best Brunch I have had in a long time! Fresh, Tasty and Fantastic!
Worst experience ever. 45$ Buffet only. Slow service. Cold food. Bad variety. Extremely overpriced
Excellent food and a very cool atmosphere in the heart of the Tosa Village.
Service was great but the food was average with a high cost
Amazing food and service! Love the design and layout of this restaurant. Very friendly employees and amazing amazing amazing x100 food!! Highly Recommend.
Great setup, great people , great experience , had an amazing time with the friends and family
Food was unique and delicious. Service was slow.
Food was good, but the service was slow.
We needed to grab a reasonably quick dinner before the Billy Joel concert and the server was very attentive to our needs. Got us in and out as quickly as possible. The ambiance was very nice and the drinks and dinner were delicious! The salmon was spectacular!! We will definitely be back soon!!
Started in the Lounge with large bar then to the dining room. YUMMY goat cheese croquettes, shrimp and mushroom risotto, and chicken paprikash. Nice craft old-fashioned and Happy Hour house wines. Max was a wonderful server...we will return!
pricing does not reflect quality of food. the menu offers quite a few GF/V options which is greatly appreciated and notes such options which is also quite beneficial. The drinks were all lacking. Mojito tastes like an Italian soda and the second drink ordered looked and tasted quite similar to the mojito. A lot of seltzer is used in both. Quite lackluster. The Brussels were fantastic and others at our table raved about the dates. Ambiance is beautiful. I love the mix of industrial and romantic chic. I would absolutely come back for appetizers with friends and hope to see a better offering of higher quality cocktails in the future.
Good service, good food, easy parking, quiet. What else is there?
The Brussels sprouts should've been crisper. I had to give the server the recipe for a Dry Rob Roy. And more than once, our drinks, and everyone else's in the bar area, had empty glasses for more than 10 minutes.
I was hoping to impress an out of town guest, and I was a little embarrassed I chose this restaurant. Too bad, I loved this place 2 years ago. Not sure what happened.
Good dining experience on a busy Friday night.
The waitress and the kitchen helped me with my food allergies (dairy and gluten). Great food. My sister and friend also enjoyed their meals. We will be back.
Love coming here when I get the chance! Service is always great.
Was nice place to meet-up with some girlfriends to talk.
Great service. Good food. Good variety on menu
From the minute we came in. Everything was 1st class. I enjoyed the ambient feel of the restaurant. We chose a high table in the bar area for our meal, but I don’t believe there was a bad seat in the house. The private dining areas are a nice touch. We enjoyed the fish fry and we were treated to some of the tastiest cod that I have ever experienced. The garlic fries were a delight. I wish I had ordered them. (Stole some from the wife). The seasonings were understated but delightful. I would recommend to anyone. Beef tenderloin tips are next on the agenda. Can’t wait!
Nice place for a date night. We picked the dining room to have dinner. A good room just to talk and enjoy dinner with out the background bar noise.
Excellent as always!
Great service, food and cocktails. We will definitely be going back.
We had a great birthday dinner! The food was melt in your mouth! The leftovers we just as good the next day! We sat at the bar for a drink first and were not rushed to our table nor rushed from it.
All was fabulous!! I will be there again soon!
This place has SO much potential. Yet they find ways to frustrate and disappoint. Make a valentines day reservation for thee--asking for a hightop in the lounge area. When we arrived the lounge was only about 1/3 full. The host seemed flustered as to where to put us despite the fact that the high tops were all empty. I said any nice place is great. She asked if we could wait while we cleared off a table and proceeded to put us into a table tucked into a cramped corner of the lounge. Here's the thing...no one else came to claim any of those other table. Truly a head scratcher. Service was okay...but the brussels sprouts were woody and not up to their ordinary standard. I ordered a Maker's Mark, neat. The drink was hardly a shot and I was charged $11.50--more than the signature mixed drinks for my wife and daughter. Our server and the host were both in the lobby on our way out, but both seemed distracted. I had to go out of my way to say goodbye. These, of course, are all correctable management and training issues. So much potential. Hope they figure it out.
Quaint, cute restaurant with ample seating. I recommend the short ribs!
Great food, atmosphere and service (thanks Caitlin). Made for a memorable Valentine’s Day
