   Our little family always enjoys a night out at Firefly Grill. Bread service & crab purses are always a great way to kick off a meal. The crab purses are very crab forward which is perfect! Light and delicious way to kick off dinner. Our toddler loves sprinkling Parmesan on his Cheese Ditalini. It’s creamy, buttery and adding a little Parmesan gives it the bit of salt he loves. The choice of ditalini pasta is great! The stubby tiny tube shape pasta is great for babies exploring finger foods, easy for them to pick up with their little hands…for toddlers, super easy to scoop using a spoon or fork… the flavor is simple, clean and loved by all ages. I had the 4oz filet prepared medium and it was amazing… paired with a fresh veg mix- al dente, seasoned to perfection with a creamy buttery whipped potato that was simply perfect. The rest of my little family ordered the shrimp cakes which were a fantastic, very generous portion, plate of yummy. The lightest crispest fry on the shrimp cakes allows for that yummy crunch you look for when you bite into it without taking away from the delicate delicious shrimp flavor.. served with truffle fries… yum! Nothing but praise for the perfect meal once again. Our waiter was amazing! His attention to detail was fantastic, service was on point allowing for our little guy to enjoy the experience. We had planned to have dessert but with all the amazing appetizers and dinner we were pleasantly stuffed. We ended our dinner by going outside on the deck, watching the sun begin to set, while feeding fish food to the turtles, koi and catfish eagerly swimming by for a snack. It’s this wonderful combination of amazing service, atmosphere, delicious food and adorable fish and turtles…. that will keep Firefly at the top of our list for dining out!

   The food and service were amazing, and I found the prices to be fair for fine dining but I resented the 5 percent “service charge” added to the bill for our party of two. You can rationalize it any way you please, but the fact is, it runs people the wrong way. It does not appear on the menu anywhere. If there’s a cash discount—totally understandable—say so.

   Mother's Day brunch was lovely. They served a 3 course brunch with croissants and deviled eggs, and choice steak and eggs, duck frites, chickeen and waffles, salmon, just so many choices. All delicious. Service was exceptional.

   Everything was wonderful with the exception of the coffee. The last 2-3 times we’ve visited we have ordered a cup to drink with our decadent dessert. It is machine -made coffee and very bitter and tasteless. We miss the brewed coffee we enjoyed at Firefly for years. Coffee should be final flavor profile to top off a great meal!

   First time visiting Firefly Grill and we were very happy we did! Great place for dinner with many excellent choices. Server was excellent and delivered food and drink in a timely manner. The ambiance was very vibrant and relaxing at the same time. Hope to be back in the future!

   Dinner was fantastic. We have not had a bad experience here. The food is amazing. I like that the menu changes. The Thai fried chicken was wonderful as was the braised beef bao bun. We had the orange shortbread for dessert, was light and refreshing. Definitely recommend restaurant.

   Steak, Seafood, a burger or vegetarian meal, they have something for every palate. They have a full bar with specialty cocktails. This is a special restaurant at the half way point across the state of Illinois. Well worth the stop.

    This is impossibly the best restaurant I ever ever eaten. From April to October I’ve eaten at this restaurant twice a month since 2019 traveling from Texas to Michigan. Shout out to Sam he’s out with his back. I would say this is the best of the best of the best. Worth traveling from any point in the US to visit.
