Great experience! Ahi tuna is the best appetizer. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The music didn’t really match the ambiance, seemed more appropriate for a higher end sports bar but we didn’t care much. It was my husbands birthday so they brought us dessert which was very nice!

Son ordered Cajun ribeye medium received regular ribeye rare to medium rare. I ordered a filet medium rare came back close to well done. Service was just fine and two of the other meals were fine. Overall, very average experience.

Celebrated our 30th Anniversary and had another great experience. We were able to request a quite booth in the back in the app. There were flowers waiting for us with a card signed by staff. Such a nice and thoughtful touch. 💕

We went for a special night out for our anniversary. Great atmosphere, good wine, but by ribeye was very hard to eat. I am an avid ribeye eater so I understand the marbling with them. What a good ribeye doesn't have is that tough gristle throughout the steak that make 1/2 the steak a waste. For these prices and our anniversary I was very disappointed. Probably pick someplace else for next special occasion.

Me invited a couple (friends that moved to Johnston) to meet us there for spirits & dinner. Our server wasn't sure about the rib special and had to keep asking the kitchen for answers. The worst part was fruit flies/gnats. We had at least a dozen flying around, landing on our drinks & food. That was disappointing at the least, since Firebirds is our main choice when we travel to Des Moines. First time experience for our friends wasn't great.

We went for a birthday. It was very nice. They were attentive to the children. I dont recommend mashed potatoes with a balsamic vinaigrette. I love that the kids menu has check marks.

We had a great experience. However one of our steaks was supposed to be cooked to medium, but was very well done. Our server was very attentive and offered to remedy the problem. They brought out another steak that appeared to be cooked to medium. It was just pretty late through the dinner and he took it to go. All in all the problem was taken care of but our experience was affected by the initial problem

A lot went wrong here. Drink order was messed up, but that was no big deal. The food was the big issue. Wife ordered the Roasted Garlic Sirloin. The steak was completely raw and cold to the touch. Wait staff quickly fixed the issue, but when the steak came back, the garlic was raw. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. The fish itself was great, but the rice pilaf that came with it was horrid. The rice was undercooked and was so hard you couldn't eat it. The asparagus was also raw. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I cannot recommend this place. Manager told us that the Sea Bass was a new item and they were still working on getting it right. Service was good...but the food was not edible.

The kitchen did a great job, the bar not so much. A gin and tonic w/o lime??? And it was pretty bad tonic. Asked for a martini on the rocks, but it came in an "up" glass and was watery. On the other side, the food was good. But the restaurant was very noisy.

It was extremely warm inside the restaurant. Had to use the drink menu as a fan. Ordered a bottle of white wine and had to remind the waitress to bring a bucket to keep the wine chilled and the bucket wasn’t even cold. The food was delicious and worth the money.

Food quality was excellent. Our server did a very nice job. But the timing of the food coming out of the kitchen was very slow. There was a fifteen minute delay between the time the first meal came to our table and the last.

Our brunch was mediocre. I had ordered a salmon egg Benedict and the egg was not poached, it was completely hard boiled. I would have complained but our waitress vanished for about 30 minutes. I went ahead and ate, not wanting to wait while the rest of the dish congealed. We were never offered refills on our beverages either. What could have been easily corrected if we had an attentive server, became a rationale to not return.

3 women out for dinner before a concert. 1 had a salad who got what she ordered and enjoyed it. one got a salad that was supposed to come with salmon but no salmon. salad was delish but gone by the time the salmon came out. no charge for the salmon. 3rd person had piece of salmon with side of broccoli and salmon undercooked and inedible in some areas. offered free dessert which we accepted. potential for greatness but never quite hit the mark and for those prices you should be exceeding the mark.

First time at Firebirds, was quiet, casual and got right in even though I reserved a table we were early and got us right in. Water was great and drinks and food suggestions were fabulous. We will definitely go back. Lobster jalapeño queso was great appetizer and Bruchetta Chicken Pasta and Firebirds Woodfired Chicken Pasta was great. All suggested by our waiter. Great first experience.

Enjoyed the dining table with the pillows. It was very relaxing. The food was very good for all four of us. The person who attended our questions, took our order, and assisted in delivering our food. She is very personable and light hearted. We have been at this restaurant before and will attend with our four adult daughters, their husbands and nine teen age children.

I ordered a plain filet mignon. I got a bacon, wrapped filet. I don’t like bacon my husband ordered a ribeye, medium rare. It was way over cooked our waitress. Beth was very good and attentive. It was so darn loud. We had a scream at each other across the table. Much do expensive for what we got. We won’t be going back soon.
