Great experience. Excellent food. Pleasant atmosphere and attentive service.
My Birthday Dinner was excellent!
Our server was very attentive and patient, making what turned into very good suggestions!
I had the Pepper Encrusted Sirloin (rare).
All the dishes excellent by my guests!
We had a very enjoyable dinner and I would definitely recommend to my friends and return!
Everything was amazing except for our waitress! She was very rude when asking for separate checks, ignored our table, no refills on water for a long time and no bread to start with like the other tables. Everyone else seemed to be friendly except for her. Our experience would have been much better if it wasn’t for that!
Went for New Year's Eve dinner as a last minute option. Cannot complain that they were able to take a table of 7. Service was a little slow, but I suspect it was due to NYE and several tables had bigger parties. I ate the NY Strip w/ Peppercorn (seasonal). Pretty good overall. It's not Morton's or Flemming's, but it's a good place and food.
Love the setting and service. On top of that, the food is fantastic. Wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Prime rib is cooked the way "you" like it and is very tasty. Pineapple martini is simply wonderful.
The prime rib (cooked “medium”) was very tough. I’ve never had such a tough cut of prime rib.
We had gone for dinner a year ago for New Year's eve for an early reservation so we decided to make reservations again for this year. The food was exceptional and we even spoke to the chef.
It was very good and I would return for dinner again.
This was a return visit. Sadly, our food arrived cold after along wait and one of us ordered the sauce on the side which was ignored.
Visited restaurant for dinner during Christmas' Eve. First, the waitress forgot to bring the kids menu we asked for and we had to call the attention of somebody else to bring it to us. Later, she forgot to order the appetizer and then to boot, she brought us the wrong one. Nonetheless, the steak I ordered was good and at a perfect medium doneness. Also, the wine list was notable. The Créme Brulee cheesecake was outstanding and it almost made up for the sub-par service. However, for the prices they charge, service has to step it up a few notches.
Great dinner and service!! Nice place steak was perfect
Christmas Eve dinner with family at Firebird was superb. Service and food exceeded expectations!
Service was excellent for a Christmas reunion of 7 people.
Firebirds is an outstanding restaurant. The service is great and the food is amazing. The cost is a little higher than similar places, but the quality of the food more than makes up for the difference in price.
Their house wine is smooth and tastes great. If you enjoy wine, give it a try.
Great food, outstanding service and awesome friends = perfect!
Always consistently good experience
Our waitress didn't seem to know the menu and was somewhat aloof at times. We ordered the goat cheese spread appetizer that came with baked baguette style bread but when we asked for more of the bread we received the soft bread loaf. When my date ordered her salad with dressing on the side, the salad came already dressed. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she totally misunderstood, then went and got a container of dressing for the side. It took over 40-minutes for our salads to arrive (One Tuna, Two Chicken and One Beef salad). We arrived at 6:30p and didn't leave until approx 8:35pm. You could see the tickets piling up at the cook window and the waitresses constantly checking on where the food was.
The staff was very accommodating and very friendly. The only minor complaint was that we had to send two of our steaks back as they were very raw on the inside. But they did compensate us. Overall had a lovely time.
Reunion with friends
It was a our first time and the food was very slow to come out. We sat down at 6:45 and didn't leave the restaurant till about 8pm. We didn't order appetizers either. Just had the bread they provided to the table.
This was our first visit, and when we arrived we were told there would be a delay as they were awaiting menus. Then, we were seated at the table closest to the front door. This is normally not a problem, but at night, in the winter, and with no system to keep the cold air from entering the restaurant, we had to go from comfortable to freezing throughout the meal. Also, while the food was very good, we had to wait an hour to get it. The long wait, and horrible temperature problem, give this establishment a low rating. All problems noted can be fixed, if the owners truly want to provide a pleasurable experience to their patrons.
I don’t know how the kitchen prepares their French Dip sandwich but now I’m sure the meat comes directly from the freezer. Our sandwich was cold, not tepid. Cold. This is the second time this happened. The cheeseburger was nothing special. Food took a long time for a Tues at 6pm. Waitress was nice. Not coming back.
Grilled salmon and mushrooms were delicious.
Great visit as always, Ben is an amazing server. The food came out fresh and hot, with the steak au poivre and the chili rubbed del monico as our favorites. Oh and of course, tater totts! Temperature was perfect, especially after coming in from the chilly outside, we had a great view of the cooking fire and the lighting is impeccable. Ben was very attentive, stopped by the table several times checking to make sure things were great and grabbing refills. We will definitely be back, and recommend to everyone we know to visit. We didn't have an opportunity to grab dessert after cleaning our plates, but we'll try to next visit!
In general I've always enjoyed my meals at Firebirds but unfortunately my most recent visit was quite disappointing. Tried the Grilled Tenderloin Salad for the first time - what is described as "mixed greens" on the menu turned out to be just iceberg lettuce. A few slices of beef on a huge bed of chopped lettuce with some diced tomatoes is not much of a salad. The service and cocktails were great but I won't be ordering this salad again.
Great for lunchtime. Good food, reasonable value and nice service.
My birthday dinner! Very enjoyable and good food. Only suggestion would be to dim the lighting over the booths where we sat for more ambiance. The brightness and glare were a bit too much.
Night and day difference from the prior evening to last night.
The food was perfect, the service was great and the Christmas decor in the Town Center created a great ambience.
Arrived at 7pm, ordered at 7:30pm, food came at 8:30pm. Waitress was very slow and our table noticed she spent all her time talking to coworkers with hands on her hips. She took one drink order at a time and second round came about 45 mins later (which we loaded up for fear of not seeing her again) Ordered MW ribeye and it came out looking like asphalt. Sent it back and requested the salmon instead (I’ll save my steak fetishes for Eddie Merlot’s). Wife ordered the cilantro-grilled chicken (was lukewarm and over-cooked). Onion rings were very good though. Overall, not the most horrible place I’ve eaten, but it was enough to make me frown. I may go back when they are a bit less-crowded to see if the food comes out better.
Service was great. Had a small mishap in one order but was fixed very quickly.
Great meal and beer, the run around about a medium rare 12 oz prime rib not being available and then asking for the 16 oz as an option. At this point, we have no medium rare prime rib though advertised and on the menu find a bit disconcerting. At most restaurants, the wait staff tells the customers during the introduction specials and what you're out of, atypical for this chain as I'm to a few in various states and never ran into this issue.
Firebirds has gone down since opening. We have been many times. This time, the waitress spilled our wine while trying to poor it. My wife’s chicken was so dry and over cooked that it was inedible. Her chicken was also cold. The bread was stale. We were very disappointed in the entire experience. We will not go back.
Firebird's Grill is a chain that acts like a local only restaurant. I've eaten in NJ plus other Virginia locations, all are consistent on the entree, always have a good wine selection that's acceptable for most. They are also extremely generous, their annual Veteran's Day treatment for Veterans is another reason they continue to earn my loyalty. Well done.
Firebirds' menu has lots of choices that look great, but almost without exception we end up ordering the prime rib. It's a house specialty, and is just awesome. There's very little fat, and it's served at exactly the temperature you order. My wife prefers an end cut with lots of spices, and they're always very accommodating. We've paid twice as much for a cut that's not nearly as good. Although prime rib is a "while it lasts" item, Firebirds has only run out once in all the times we've been there. Comes with a choice of side -- we usually go for the loaded baked potato, but all of the options are good. It's hard to fight off the urge for their desserts, especially the Key Lime Pie in the summer months.
They can get pretty busy, especially on weekend nights, so best to make reservations via OpenTable. There is also outdoor patio seating when the weather is decent. Overall, one of our favorite places - highly recommended.
The food was fabulous--best grilled salmon and grilled chicken I've ever tasted!
The broccoli was done to perfection--not too crisp, not too soggy, tasted great!
They have Chateau St. Michelle Reisling--on par with any Reisling I had in Germany.
The server was fantastic, helpful, friendly, and seemed like a real person--no scripts!
Food, service and ambiance is outstanding.
The appreciation of Veterans service was so thoughtful.
Food is always good but service was really bad. We waited way too long for drinks, ordering and receiving food. We are frequent visitors and usually no problem but this time was not enjoyable, ruined our evening with friends :-(
