Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Jacksonville
Loved the food. Service was awesome
The reservation was for my wife's Birthday. We arrived about 15 minutes early and was met by a rather rude hostess who confirmed our reservation and told us we would be sat at that time as if we were inconveniencing her by being early. That was the low point of the evening.
Once sat the service was great as was the food.
I would recommend the restaurant, but I would also recommend the manger talk to his hostess about customer service.
It was great!
I had sirloin 12oz and my friend the filet. .... ordered both medium and axplained we wanted slightly bloody/pink.
Sirloin was overcooked but edible. Filet was burnt hard and inedible.
I ate the sirloin but regretted it. My fiend rejected the burnt filet and the replacement was over cooked too.
Used to enjoy the steaks here but may not bother going again.
Our favorite place to dine. Always great service with great tasting food. The attention given by the staff and the quality of the food served has always been fantastic. We have never had to wait for a table which is always available at or before our reservation time. We always enjoy our dining experience there and will continue to patronize Firebirds in the future.
Always enjoy dinner at Firebirds. Service was a little slow this time, but overall an enjoyable evening,
I waiter, Ethan, did a great job in making suggestions about ordering, and then delivered on presentation.
We had a large party and everyone’s food was perfect. The service was excellent. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back.
Wonderful experience! Very relaxed environment and staff was fantastic
Our server, food, attention, and seating was all too-notch. Our server was very accommodating and very friendly and engaging. He seemed very happy to serve our group.
The atmosphere was amazing; beautiful art lines the walls. The service was fantastic; all the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful. Even now, days after our visit, my mouth waters thinking about the delicious food. I purchased the cilantro chicken, while my wife selected the pineapple chicken; both were incredible! We long to return and dine again.
The gift cards offered in the promos do not allow purchase of cocktails. What’s up with that?
Everything was great! The only down side is that our waitress did not offer dessert, she just handed us our checks. We were there for my boyfriends birthday, and we were planning on getting him a dessert. We instead moved to the bar where the bartender was shocked we didn’t get anything and she almost ran to the kitchen to get him a little something.
Steak was undercooked and full of grizzle - took 5-10 minutes to get the waitress to come by - the remake steak came 3 minutes before my guest finished his meal and it was over cooked - boxed it up - manager delivered the steak but no discount on the food -
Logan was on his A game with everthing that we needed to know about from the menu. I really enjoyed everthing I ordered and so did my friends! Get the Big daddy chocolate cake! You won't be disappointed. Fully staffed and attentive at the Jaxs, Fl location.
Great food and atmosphere great service and great price
First time, anniversary dinner. Delicious.
We have been to Firebird’s many times, lunch, happy hour, & dinner and never been disappointed, except for today. Ethan was our server as he was at a Happy Hour several weeks ago. He needs to be more attentive to the tables. Our wine took a long time at happy hour & also for our dinner. I ordered the filet medium well with a baked potato & my husband ordered the salmon. He loved his dinner, me not so much! I asked for medium well due to health issue. I thought there would be a problem when I saw red on the plate. Sure enough, medium rare on the ends & rare in the middle! I ate less than half. The rare was not going down. Ethan never came back to the table to check on our meals. Never saw him to flag him down. Channing, the manager came over to ask how everything was. I explained & he offered several options, as he apologized & he really was making an effort to make me happy. I didn’t want it recooked,as that usually is over cooked & it would take another 10 minutes for another steak. He was very nice about the whole dinner. I know it happens, but my husband almost finished his plate before anyone approached us to check on the food. Too much too late. Since we did come for my husband’s birthday, we did get a complimentary dessert & Channing did remove my entree from the bill & Ethan packed up the rest of my meal for home. I will go back, but may stick to Happy Hours & lunches for awhile.
Good quality food everything taste fresh and made to order. The firebird chicken pasta was amazing.
Food was great as expected. Our waiter was new and was a bit slow. Would leave us often times having to flag another waiter down to help us. Also, we had a party of 5 and the booth was too small. Not enough room for multiple dishes. In the future I will limit to a party of 3-4. However, good food and the manager was great!
I love this place & will definitely visit again. The food was great, drinks delicious. Customer service great & I love my waitress Miranda, she was excellent. Wonderful place to unwind, love it!
We were greeted rather rudely when we arrived 15 minutes early(6 for a 6:15) The hostess REFUSED to seat us despite the fact that the dining room was 50% occupied. This of course was not a good start to dinner. We went to an empty Bar and waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged.
Once seated at 6:15, the waiter tried to hurry us along. Came half way through the meal to talk about desserts.
We were 3 adults with an average dinner bill of $55 plus tip (plus Bar tab). I would say, that for what we were willing to pay, the service should have been better timed and the hostess smiling and pleasant in her greeting. We're not in any hurry to return as there are too many dining options in the area. BTW, we frequently dine out !!
For our party of five, this was our first time at Firebirds. We were initially seated at a curved booth in the dining room; however, a member of our group suffers from claustrophobia and it was not suitable for her so we asked to be relocated. We were placed in the bar. Our waitress seemed to be the only server handling the bar area -- at 5:30 on a Friday afternoon. She was clearly doing the best she could so nothing against her. Our drinks and appetizers were delicious - the appetizers were nice and hot. Wish I could say the same for our dinners. Everyone ordered some sort of steak except for one person who ordered the meatloaf. Her meatloaf plate was the only one that came out hot. The food on the rest of our plates was just warm. The mashed potatoes had been under the heat lamp long enough that they were beginning to have a crust on top. Not a stellar first impression.
More expensive than I like, but worth every penny. It was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was nice. I could actually hold a conversation and not feel like I was yelling. Again, the food was AMAZING!!! 100% recommend the Lobster Queso. Service was amazing as well. They also had eco-friendly straws that were plant-based plastic instead of oil-based plastic meaning they will break down. Their take-home containers were sturdy and eco-friendly too.
The food was great as well the atmosphere was amazing. Jamie was our server and she was very helpful and pleasant.
No flavor, no taste. Over priced. Third time should be a charm. Will not recommend or be returning. All 5 at the table felt the same.
We really love visiting Firebird's. We have to travel from Fleming Island, but it's always worth the trip. The atmosphere on the restaurant is really ideal; never noisy, but still lively. You can come here with friends and eat and talk without being drowned out by a crowd, music or televisions blaring.
The food is top-notch. They carry a good variety, everything is prepared extremely well and our meals always taste wonderful. The staff is attentive and always makes you feel welcome.
The cost for Firebirds is a little higher than many local restaurants, but we've never been disappointed, which makes our visits worth the little extra we pay to eat there.
I strongly recommend reservations, especially on Saturday evenings. We made one and didn't wait long. We saw others come in without and they wait for up to an hour.
Food was delicious. Large portions. Good value.
Service and food were both EXCELLENT!!
Went for lunch. Great bar only specials and craft drinks.
Joseph was our amazing waiter. This was our first experience here. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted terrific!!! The Chile rubbed delmonico and the jalapeño deviled eggs were truly exquisite. We will definitely be back.
First time there and it was excellent
Great food and great service
Great !!! Our food was delicious
Food was very good but service was not good. We had a very nice blonde server but she was not very attentive.
The rule is generally you come back to check on everyone within 2 minutes or 2 bites. She never came back and we were short a place setting so I couldn’t eat. A manager never stopped at our table but he stopped at every other table to check things out. She came back and my sister was done with her potato but needed ore butter. She brought it when she was completely done. She cleared our plates and then leaned against a wall and talked. We were waiting and waiting for our checks and she never came. I finally had to stand up and signal I needed a check.
Food was wonderful, service not so much.
Would I recommend this place? Maybe... The location and atmosphere were very nice. But I was quite disappointed with the food. I expected better quality. My daughter's "smoked" chicken wings were really "quick-fried". My steak, ordered medium well, was tough as leather in some places and medium in others. I've had much better steaks at lesser establishments. Our waiter was a bit aloof also. He didn't seem to remember we were there at times... For example, it was about 15 minutes after he took our order before he asked if we wanted any bread. Overall, they did not make a good first impression. I will usually give a place one more try before I discard them forever.
My wood grilled salmon was outstanding and I loved how they cooked the bottom with a crust. It was a little higher priced than other restaurants in Town Center who offer salmon entrees. My husbands baby back ribs was melt off the bone delicious.
A great Fathers Day lunch!!!!
It was a first time visit for most people in our party of 6. All said they would return.
Took the family out for a Father’s Day dinner. Food was great. Our server was good and very pleasant, but there were times I felt we waited longer than we should have for her to return. It was hot in the restaurant which made me personally uncomfortable, but overall we had a good experience.
