Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Jacksonville
While the service and food were excellent and we will be back the menu is a little pricey. The price for a good steak was in line with other restaurants but a side salad was $5.25 and a potato choice came with the steak but if you wanted to add broccoli it was $6.00! And $6.00 for a small glass of beer. And try cutting your steak on one of the tables and your plate slides the tabletop is so slippery
It was my daughter’s birthday and we had a fantastic night. The service and the food was excellent. Special thanks to Craig Hunt, the bar manager and our server Jamie.
Leon was an amazing waiter. He knew the menu and suggested awesome dishes. The food was great!
Absolutely wonderful prime rib! They even split the entire dinner from the salad up! Great service and gluten free selections too!
We went to Firebirds for a business lunch, I was impressed by the quality at a good price. I would definitely recommend.
This was a birthday celebration (mine) & I visited w/my family (4 of us, all adults). It was the first visit for all of us. Such a delicious meal. I had the prime rib that was cooked to perfection. I loved the flash-fried spinach. My sweetie had the fillet (also cooked as ordered). One son had the meatloaf kabobs (excellent) & the other son had the salmon (not overdone & moist). All meals & their accompanying sides were so good.
I appreciated the military discount on my meal & the complimentary cheese cake bites (creme-bruleed). Different & delicious.
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this place so had high expectations. I met my two sisters on Sunday. Two of us ordered the Firebird Pasta. Neither of us liked it at all. The pasta was thick and not cooked thoroughly. One of ours was drowning in sauce and the other hardly had any. We asked for more sauce and it took forever. Then it came out cold and ruined her dish completely. My other sister asked for more butter for the bread and it must have taken 20 mins till we received it. Her wings had a terrible flavor. Our server was very sweet but maybe too busy. Don’t think I will return.
Friendly staff. Very good food but not amazing. Over priced. Nice decor
Excellent food and even better service.
This is now our favorite date night go-to! We had a fantastic experience from the moment we entered the building. The bar staff are friendly, exceptionally skilled, and determined to get everything right. After a couple of cocktails, we headed to our table and were immediately (and warmly) greeted by our server Kayla. She thoroughly explained the menu and because we were first timers, suggested several of their signature items. We settled on the bleu cheese and port wine mushroom filet and the signature pork chop in a mustard, shallot, garlic reduction. Both were cooked to perfection and perfectly succulent and brought to our table by our second server Jamie. We were checked on just the right amount of times without interfering with our meal. As we were finishing up, Channing, the manager stopped by to ask about our evening. As we were waiting for our dessert-to-go, we explained how much we enjoyed our experience and were already planning to come back. He listened to us intently and asked what dessert we were taking home before he thanked us and moved on to speak to more guests. Next thing you know, a plate arrives at our table with two samples of the dessert we were taking home. Kayla explained that even though our to-go dessert would be fabulous later on, Channing wanted us to try it fresh from the kitchen. I can honestly say, that I've never experienced anything like that before - ever! I'll finish this very lengthy review by saying that there are many choices when it comes to dining in the Town Center area, but this one should be on your list.
Food was very good. Server was not available for most of the meal. Salad came out wrong twice but when corrected it came with the main course but was actually a very tasty spinach salad. She must not have been having her best day.
Service was horrible. I had to get up from my table to track down our waitress and the place really wasn’t that busy. Food was good, maybe a little pricey
As usual, this place is fantastic. Only issue was that the AC was set so cold we had to move tables and still were cold. Restaurants need to learn to set temps where the patrons are comfortable, not the staff.
It was a business lunch, we had the patio to ourselves so we were able to make announcements, mingle and have a very nice time. The food was amazing and our waitress and waiter were also amazing!! Everyone was happy with their food and went back to the office excited to tell the other who weren’t able to make it!
We took our adult daughter and her son for her birthday. His hamburger had to be sent back because it was rare instead of medium well as ordered. My filet was supposed to medium and it was also rare. We have been to this location numerous times and this was the first time the steaks in particular were just not up to the standards we expect from Firebirds.
Excellent dinner. Sirloin Dinner Salad for me. Husband had delicious filet mignon with extra broccoli. Great service, food, and atmosphere. Will return again, and again, and again....
Waiter was inattentive. We ended up not ordering food and going elsewhere.
Very good will return
This was my 2nd visit to Firebirds and it was much better this time.
The food, service and ambiance were fantastic. I chose the perfect place to celebrate my birthday.
Excellent first time experience. Food was delicious and the staff was superb. We never had a empty glass on our table. Refills were brought promptly which is a huge deal according to my husband. We will definitely be back!
It is a beautiful place, but the menu is limited
Our food was great! The service exceptional and the entire evening wonderful! Thank you!
The food was absolutely delicious, from the appetizer to the dessert. Great wine and cocktail selection!!
Service was excellent. Food was very good from appetizer to dessert. Atmosphere was great.
Four of us with a open table reservation for 6:30, happy for no issues on the reservation. We had 3 different steaks and one person had the meatloaf. Steaks were all very good. and a lot of compliments about the meatloaf, whipped potatoes and green beans. My rib-eye was cooked perfect (medium rare) and very tasty. The steak fries were not as crispy/fresh as I had hoped but they were still good. One person got the Pineapple martini and said it was outstanding, my dirty martini was also very good.
I've been to this Firebirds twice before and it was good but we had started going to J Alexanders because the ambiance is just a little better and the valet is a nice option, prices pretty similar except at JA you get a nice refill with any martini.
Only thing keeping this from 5 stars on value is that it's a little more expensive that I thought but there were certainly less expensive items on the menu. Overall very good and will go back.
Great restaurant, great food and great service! Deviled eggs and onion rings were amazing appetizers. The filet was cooked to perfection and the steak salad was yummy! Highly recommend.
Not a terrible experience but they need to work on service. We ordered a sandwich without tomatoes and it arrived with tomatoes. We were about half way through our entrees when the waiter arrived with our dessert! I sent her back and said we'd like to finish our meal first (and then even have a little break!).
Food was good. We were there at noon on Saturday and very few tables were occupied.
The food was very good, but very much overpriced! The service was excellent and so was the location and ambiance. However, it took 20 minutes to get out drinks throughout the night and it took forever to get our food.
It was my 3rd time going and I'm ways amazed by the food and staff.
My husband and I chose Firebird’s for our 4th anniversary dinner. I’m going away for several months for work so I made a reservation and asked for a cozy booth in a quiet corner, and boy did they deliver! The host seated us right away, our waitress was extremely friendly and took good care of us. The manager checked in often to make sure things were okay - even topping off my fries (the portion seemed small) before surprising us with an anniversary treat for dessert. We had a truly wonderful experience tonight. The steaks were seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. I can’t wait to come back for our next celebration!
Excellent experience and Jamie is best server ever.
Service was excellent! We came do to a email special, and definitely was not disappointed.
I enjoyed a superbly made lemon drop martini at the bar followed by a surf and turf dinner which was cooked to perfection.
I took my family to lunch. The bar drinks were very good. All of the food we ordered was good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I particularly liked seeing the manager meet and greet the customers and ask about our dining experience. The waiter was attentive, knew about all the food and made recommendations. I can't believe that I haven't been here before. I would go back anytime.
Awesome place to enjoy a lovely dinner with your love one. Great food and the service was out of this world. Love it!
From beginning to end of our experience was absolutely fantastic. The service and the food were incredible. This is a must do for a date or even a proposal.
Birthday dinner. Very enjoyable and good food. Waiter Cody was wonderful and very responsive and personable.
This was a return visit to Firebird’s. Our initial visit was mediocre, but unless something is absolutely horrible, I always like to give a place a second chance. We were not disappointed. The service was stellar. Our drinks, appetizers and dinner were right on point. We all had steak and each one was prepared exactly as ordered. A very nice evening. We will return!
