We had two entrées, one was a house salad with chicken and the other was the filet mignon. The house salad had too much dressing on it, and the chicken was undercooked and rubbery. The salad was also smaller in comparison with other Firebird restaurants I’ve visited. The filet was tough and underwhelming. It is clear this location has grown accustomed to serving quantity over quality.

Dinner was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. All three courses came out timely. We told the waitress that we would be taking advantage of the Restaurant Week special and she said good choice and went on to explain the special from memory. Very impressive. Now for the problem… the check came with all of the courses itemized with Restaurant Week noted next to each. Including three delicious glasses of wine. However, the total seemed high. I pulled out my phone and started calculating. The itemized total was over $50 higher than The Restaurant Week special. I guess the waitress saw that we were auditing the bill and about five minutes after she presented it, she came over with the corrected bill. I’m assuming she was hoping I would just present my credit card. I feel cheated that the waitress tried to overcharge me. I still gave her a 20% tip, but I don’t think she deserved any tip. We live in a local affluent community (Encanterra) and I will be sharing my experience with my neighbors. William McDonough 480-318-5758
