Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Gaithersburg
Food is good; server was attentive and skilled but long gaps are end of evening after meal and getting dessert. Shrimp on steak should have been crisper; overall ok.
We got the meatloaf off the regular menu and the pork chop from the special menu and both dishes were excellent. The service was outstanding as always and the manager even came by to inform me that everything that I ordered adhered to my dietary restrictions. Something I was not expecting.
This was our first visit. We enjoyed the open atmosphere and the booth seating was comfortable. Our server was prompt and courteous. The server and manager were aware of my wife’s food allergies and consulted with her to insure that she did not receive the foods that may have caused reactions.
The food was delicious and cooked just right. I had the salmon with the sides of sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes and my wife had the ribs with green beans. We were both pleasantly surprised and happy with our meals. There is a decent selections for wines and cocktails. The one unfortunate part was there draft beers weren’t available due to maintenance but there was some local DC beers available that were actually good!
We will visit again.
Food was fresh and very good. Atmosphere nice and we were able to have a nice conversation with another couple. Appetizers of wings was excellent and onion rings were outstanding. Very nice neighborhood spot.
A very good restaurant. Service was excellent. Every waiter/waitress helped to make sure the food was as ordered and delivered hot to the table. The drinks weren't the best but the meal made up for the bars' shortfall. I would. Go back although I'd probably not order a cocktail again.
Pleasant and accommodating staff. Good food, reasonable prices.
All restaurants seem loud for quiet conversation among friends, this was no less than the average.
Even though the server was very pleasant and knows, the service was lacking. Three of the 4 dinners ordered were either under cooked or over cooked.
While pricing is reasonable for the food ordered.......if it had been cooked properly, the wine pricing for the portion served is overpriced.
every time we visit the Gaithersburg Firebirds, the weak link is the bar service, even when we are sitting at the bar! we can see that our drinks are ready, but it takes way too long for them to be delivered. this time, we had to tell our server that our drinks were waiting at the bar to be served to us at a table. we would likely have had a second drink if the first ones had not taken 15 minutes to arrive. the restaurant itself is lovely and the food was good. I thought the filet was a tiny bit tough and fatty for that cut of meat. the bread is always a highlight at Firebirds.
Food really basic and uninspired, cooked with minimal proficiency - though it has many steak cuts. My father had the filet mignon and did not like.
Our server (Ian) was awesome and the food is always good. We have hosted groups of 12-15 multiple times here and are always pleased.
My friends and I went to eat there for the first time and everything we took a bite of or a sip of was phenomenal. My steak was cooked right to the T and my friends salmon was flavorful. The staff was very friendly, I do recommend go and eat here. I will definitely be coming back for more.
Great service, food and staff. I always have a wonderful experience every time I visit.
I always enjoy going to this Firebirds. It is run well - the service is prompt and friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is nice. On the very rare occasion that something is wrong with my order, they will quickly and with a smile bend over backwards to fix it. That is something that means a lot to me when I go out to eat, and I really appreciate that.
Had a fabulous birthday party there. Was super impressed the manager called me ahead of time to confirm a special request. We love Firebirds and keep returning again and again. LOVE the prime rib!
We go there on birthdays and such. Great service and the manger makes us feel at home. Great food, great time.
Our server was excellent! The food was great. We were seated at a booth next to a serving station and right in front of the kitchen. Not the best ambiance for our 28 year anniversary dinner.
Server got one order wrong. A chicken sandwich was ordered with the only other cheese available plus coleslaw instead of fries. Came with fries and pepper-jack instead of cheddar. Served a burger with cold fries and the menu said red onion which was 2 little rings and not a full slice. Lettuce with both sandwiches was wilted. They serve butter and ketchup in tiny little metal bowls. Not enough for the bread or for a burger with fries. Plenty of restaurants in the area that are better especially for the higher priced menu items.
Hi, I ordered the largest filet, it tasted great as it was not hidden w/all kinds of garlic and other spices, it was too well done for medium rare and it seemed there was not much size difference between the smaller and the larger. The shrimp tacos were good, I think they would have been great. I ordered fried instead of broiled shrimp/ If I return I will get them broiled. Service was great! Very CLEAN. My filet was just dried out and small for the larger size.
Our family went to Firebirds after a funeral and requested a quiet area. We could not have been more pleased! The two servers were wonderful. Everyone ordered something he or she wished and was satisfied. Desserts were shared and excellent. Thank you for making a sad day more pleasant.
Service was great. The surf and turf was cooked well but the lobster was too salty and the steak not seasoned enough. Otherwise they have a good selection of higher end California wines which my wife and I enjoy.
Very noisy. Slow service. Food highly overpriced. Will not eat there again.
Always great food and service. We have our favorites, but try to select something different each time we go. We are never disappointed. The Bartenders are awesome as well. Very creative.
I always have a good time and a good meal at Firebirds and the staff is so friendly and helpful.
Food was good. The temperature in the restaurant was way too warm. Service not as good as expected. We will go back and give it another try.
Great selection of food. Reasonably priced and all delicious. The bread was a little to hard and stale.
An awesome experience all the way around
First time I was there
Will come back over and over again
My wife and I came in for the national filet day special. Excellent value and flavor. My wife's steak was overcooked and Rasaan the manager went out of his way to get her another one without much wait that was cooked perfectly! We had a great waitress and really enjoyed the evening!
Food and service was better than the last time we dine at Firebirds Wood Fire Grill.
Waited over an hour for food and it was cold and not cooked right
We had a rough start, but the wait staff, manager and chef excelled in the end. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was quite good, and our server was outstanding.
Service was great and the food was perfect. Definitely near the top of our list for steak and wine
90th Birthday celebration for my Mom.
Server was exceptional and greatly appreciated.
Everything is very good, but in special the fry spinach is amazing!!
We had a great experience with our dinner. The service was good, our waiter was excellent and the food was good! I always get a cup of the tortilla soup to begin with as they make a really good one! Then I get the pineapple chicken which I recommend to anyone as it’s so tender & flavorful. The seasame encrusted salmon and the ribs are also favorites!
Family get together was made special with the outstanding service!!!!
Great food, superb service! I will be returning.
I had the Steak Salad which was fantastic. Quality of steak was much better than anticipated, balsamic dressing was perfect. My coworker had the fish tacos. When the server came to clear the table, our plates were clean.
Waited way too long for our meal to be served. Place was half empty and no explanation ever provided about the long wait.
I recommend, but please read on. Open Table worked great. I found someplace new and interesting to try and with a click or two had a reservation for one last night. There was no wait, and I had a nice table pretty close to the bar (hint) but still comfortable for diner. My waitress Christine I think, was very nice and pretty quick with everything. Food came as ordered and my steak was seasoned nicely and cooked as ordered - medium-rare. My waitress did all she could to correct the following, but this is all on the bartender (she didn't "pay" for his issues ;) I ordered a familiar beer to me and what she brought to the table tasted like a flat version and stale. Even the color was off. I didn't even think it was what I ordered. I let the waitress know and she promptly brought another - which did not taste that much different. Later in my meal, I ordered a premium single malt. First time - debris in the dirty glass. I showed the waitress and she quickly offered another. I told her no, could be just cork because I didn't remember if this scotch used a synthetic cork so I asked her to bring a clean glass and two cocktail napkins. I could see she told the BT and I could see him getting upset. I used one napkin to wipe the new "clean" glass and the other to strain the debris out of the scotch all the while I could see the BT fretting - like really dude??". The new clean glass instantly tasted like a mixed drink and I could see it wasn't clean at all. This was before the scotch touched my lips. I think this was a fair review based on my experience. My waitress was great, the place is very nice and the food was almost perfect. This BT either never had it or lost the desire to carry on or protect the craft of being a good bartender serving premium liquor. Who serves a $25 dram of scotch in a dirty glass with debris floating, suspended and also on the bottom? What bartender does not clean their glasses for premium drinks to a polished state???
