Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Gaithersburg
I was very disappointed when I told the host and the server that we were celebrating my grandson’s birthday and they didn’t even offer him a dessert or anything. When we received the bill it said Happy Birthday. How tacky is that???
We enjoyed the special so much we went twice in 3 days. Would love to see more offers since I am on a budget but enjoy taking my family to dinner as often as I can.
4/5 of us had the 3-course special. We all has salmon and it was very good but the sauce was very salty. The salads were also very good. The meals took 45 minutes to be delivered and initially we got two of the 5, with the rest 5-7 minutes later. The bread also took that long to come out. Two of the meals came with the wrong side dishes. The waiter was very nice and apologetic and made good on the side dishes. I do NOT blame him as I feel it was the kitchen that was late in responding for both the main dishes and the bread. I think they also goofed on the side dishes. Al in all, it was a very uneven meal in terms of service and getting the order correct. We will be back.....but these issues need to be fixed
I arrived around 6:15 and left about 8:05.
Too long !
Love love the food at Firebirds. Glad that they particpated in Restaurant Week so that we could try a few things that are not on the menu at at a good valued price. Will be back of course since its in the neighborhood.
Restaurant week a good value.
The people food and treatment is always wonderful!
All of our food did not come out at the same time. One person in our party had to wait to eat. Found a hair in the soup. Got free dessert at least.
The manager made a special effort to ensure that our experience was good. His effort is greatly apprectiated along with the waitress who was attentive and did her job very well. Thank you!
The manager acknowledged that the food took way too long to make and be served. The food was tasty and not always served hot. My parents sent their food back while my husband and I just ate as we were starving. The drinks were good. Our server was stretch too thin having to serve to too many tables. We were there for at least three hours to eat our dinner. Not sure if I would return to this restaurant again.
We love the slow roasted prime rib. We decided to take advantage of Bethesda Restaurant Week. Business was relatively slow that evening. The food was brought quickly, but the quality of the roast was not up to the quality of past visits.
Good service in a business where people and customer engagement are paramount. Steak was thin & fatty. Atmosphere was loud. Overall value was not that great and one could do better at Texas Roadhouse.
It is by, any measure roomy Then dining room consist of booths - comfortably sits 6 maybe eight. Tables set for 6 persons.
Always a great meal in a relaxed setting. Great staff makes the meal even better.
Place was swamped. Food was ok. Too k
We always enjoy our time at Firebirds - it is truly one of the better and most fun places in the immediate Gaithersburg area. It was very crowded on a Saturday night and even though we had a reservation, we were not seated for 20 minutes after our booked time. And then the food service was slow as the kitchen got backed up with orders. But the food was worth the wait.
The staff members were all enthusiastic, friendly, accommodating and helpful.
We both had a salmon dinner-- excellently done as always. We are looking forward to having dinner at Firebirds again soon!
The food was delicious but drinks came out slow (or not at all). Our server seemed new and couldn’t provide basic details like soups, beer choices, etc. I ordered a salad before my steak that never arrived. Great potential though.
Arrived for a 6:30 reservation and seated promptly. Waitress was attentive without hovering. Food arrived hot and as ordered from the Prefix menu for restaurant week. Our entree didn't include a green veggie which to me was a bit strange, otherwise a pleasurable very yummy steak dinner with dessert. Hot bread was provided, and the drinks were a reasonable price for my wine and and hubby's beer. Hubby loved the Carrot Cake! It was a busy Friday night and the restaurant full by the time we finished our meal. The noise level from the bar did not carry over into the dining-room which was a plus. We will be back and would recommend this restaurant.
It kinda overpriced
very nice restaurant
We had a very enjoyable meal. Firebirds is one of the few places that still serves Prime Rib and it was very good.
Upon arrival heavy with the smell of smoke. Prime Rib was chewy though horseradish sauce was very good. Mashed potatoes pasty in texture. Chicken to charred as was skin on baked potato. Bar was backed up and drink order was delayed though good once arrived. Never offered to refill water. Spilled sphere of butter on floor mentioned to server 2x finally cleaned up by customer to avoid stepping in. Carrot cake and deviled eggs good. Bathrooms had their own issues.
Family was in town so we took them there for dinner last night.
But food was not good.
Most of the dishes were overcooked - many of us asked for medium rare but received medium well steaks and the chicken was very dry as well.
We had a 7pm reservation so it wasn’t at the heaviest of times; however, the dishes came an hour later, even thou we ask if the kids could have theirs a little earlier...
Caesar Salad dressing was horrible - homemade I’m told but I didn’t come close to finishing which is rare for me. Tasted like eating dry ice burg lettuce even after I asked for more dressing. Sadly the croutons were the best part.
Steaks were over cooked, and our server didn’t check on us after the entrees were served (not until time for the check). We both ordered medium rare and they came out medium well.
(Did also order a shrimp kebab enhancement and they were perfectly seasoned).
Great atmosphere, wonderful food and fantastic service.
Great place for New Year’s Eve dinner. Very crowded but we were seated immediately and all of the staff was so nice and friendly. Service was prompt and the food was great.
Normally the service is outstanding, but this night our server was, unfortunately subpar.
The whole experience was very good. The food was excellent, also the service. Considering that the place was full the food came quickly and was just as good as other times that we visited Firebirds. We will be sure to be back to enjoy another meal at firebirds.
Good service and good good. Would go again.
Good for a meal with the whole family. Make reservations as they get busy.
Great.. love the steak sandwich
The noise level was down from other visits due to fewer customers. Pre-dinner drinks in the bar were awesome and the service on both sides (bar and dining room) were excellent.
Server was great- food was great as always! Will keep going back
This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant and I'm sure we'll return. The food was excellent, as was the service! We truly appreciated the fact that the restaurant was also rather quiet, allowing family members to talk and catch up with all the happenings. Truly love this restaurant and highly recommend it! Thank you!! Wishing everyone a VERY happy new year!!
I visited this particular location for a second time to celebrate my sons birthday as a family. The very first time I dined was in South Florida and the experience was great. Then I dined in October, at the Gaithersburg location, for my birthday and had a very nice time and the meal was great! This time...not so much! It took my server an extraordinary long time to greet the table. When he finally and took our appetizer order it took forever to come out and when it finally came out it was cold. We ordered lobster and spinach queso. No one likes cold queso...We told them server and he offered to make it hot. Well then the chips looked like oil was poured over them when it came back!! Dinner was mediocre and the service was horrible: slow, disheveled, no offer for refills or even to check up on us, and definitely no offer for dessert—and I told him it was a birthday. He had the check prepared and placed on the table despite us asking for the dessert menu. I thought the service was poor because it was the holiday season, but they weren’t busy. I don’t understand how my last two visits were so vastly different... won’t be back.
Ribeye was grisly and tougher than I experienced at Firebirds before.
Enjoyed a wonderful holiday lunch with my work family. Isaac, the gentleman who attended to us was fantastic, engaging and fun.
As always nice place for dinner with friends and family.
Fantastic, and the service made my birthday guest smile!
