Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Gaithersburg
Food was good. The temperature in the restaurant was way too warm. Service not as good as expected. We will go back and give it another try.
Great selection of food. Reasonably priced and all delicious. The bread was a little to hard and stale.
An awesome experience all the way around
First time I was there
Will come back over and over again
My wife and I came in for the national filet day special. Excellent value and flavor. My wife's steak was overcooked and Rasaan the manager went out of his way to get her another one without much wait that was cooked perfectly! We had a great waitress and really enjoyed the evening!
Food and service was better than the last time we dine at Firebirds Wood Fire Grill.
Waited over an hour for food and it was cold and not cooked right
We had a rough start, but the wait staff, manager and chef excelled in the end. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was quite good, and our server was outstanding.
Service was great and the food was perfect. Definitely near the top of our list for steak and wine
90th Birthday celebration for my Mom.
Server was exceptional and greatly appreciated.
Everything is very good, but in special the fry spinach is amazing!!
We had a great experience with our dinner. The service was good, our waiter was excellent and the food was good! I always get a cup of the tortilla soup to begin with as they make a really good one! Then I get the pineapple chicken which I recommend to anyone as it’s so tender & flavorful. The seasame encrusted salmon and the ribs are also favorites!
Family get together was made special with the outstanding service!!!!
Great food, superb service! I will be returning.
I had the Steak Salad which was fantastic. Quality of steak was much better than anticipated, balsamic dressing was perfect. My coworker had the fish tacos. When the server came to clear the table, our plates were clean.
Waited way too long for our meal to be served. Place was half empty and no explanation ever provided about the long wait.
I recommend, but please read on. Open Table worked great. I found someplace new and interesting to try and with a click or two had a reservation for one last night. There was no wait, and I had a nice table pretty close to the bar (hint) but still comfortable for diner. My waitress Christine I think, was very nice and pretty quick with everything. Food came as ordered and my steak was seasoned nicely and cooked as ordered - medium-rare. My waitress did all she could to correct the following, but this is all on the bartender (she didn't "pay" for his issues ;) I ordered a familiar beer to me and what she brought to the table tasted like a flat version and stale. Even the color was off. I didn't even think it was what I ordered. I let the waitress know and she promptly brought another - which did not taste that much different. Later in my meal, I ordered a premium single malt. First time - debris in the dirty glass. I showed the waitress and she quickly offered another. I told her no, could be just cork because I didn't remember if this scotch used a synthetic cork so I asked her to bring a clean glass and two cocktail napkins. I could see she told the BT and I could see him getting upset. I used one napkin to wipe the new "clean" glass and the other to strain the debris out of the scotch all the while I could see the BT fretting - like really dude??". The new clean glass instantly tasted like a mixed drink and I could see it wasn't clean at all. This was before the scotch touched my lips. I think this was a fair review based on my experience. My waitress was great, the place is very nice and the food was almost perfect. This BT either never had it or lost the desire to carry on or protect the craft of being a good bartender serving premium liquor. Who serves a $25 dram of scotch in a dirty glass with debris floating, suspended and also on the bottom? What bartender does not clean their glasses for premium drinks to a polished state???
The happy hour is terrific. The Ambiance is great as a meeting place with friends. The happy hour menu is varied and what we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend the fried cauliflower. Drinks were also very good. After happy hour we went to the dining room for dinner, a party of six. Salmon came out over cooked. The steak salad that I ordered did not come out cooked the way I requested. I ordered medium and it came out almost well done. Another guest ordered the pineapple chicken skewers with vegetables. They were not on a skewer. There were practically no vegetables, just one or two pieces of onion and pineapple. I would not recommend this restaurant for dinner but would recommended for happy hour. On a bright note our server was wonderful.
Nice dinner for two. The staff was very professional and friendly. Made us feel right at home. The food was nicely presented and was the perfect temperature and doneness. The waitress was attentive but not intrusive. Overall a great evening, a little noisy from the kitchen area but not intolerable.
The restaurant was a pleasant and convenient place to have a good meal and catch up with a visiting friend. The menu selections were varied enough that each of us could find something we liked and the cost for the meal was in line with other restaurants in the area. The noise level in the dining area was such that we could converse easily and the staff didn't hurry us when we lingered after the dessert portion of the meal.
we made a reservation for our family to celebrate my husbands birthday. When we arrived, we told our waiter that it was his birthday in hopes that he could bring something with a candle in it to celebrate. Our dinner was fine except we were charged $18 for a bowl of plain pasta with Parm cheese and a piece of grilled chicken. Seems expensive for what came out as a kids plate. Our dinners were heavily salted as well. Be careful when ordering.
After our dinner was cleared, the waiter came over, asked us if we wanted dessert and if not, there was a check attached to the back. Kind of a mood killer as it seemed we were forced out. Obviously, no special dessert, no candle and basically no motivation for us to order dessert! I'm sure Bruesters was happy to get our ice cream business!
BBQ spareribs were delicious, salad was as usual outstanding, fruit fresh and ripe.
My family or friends and I always have a good time and experience at Firebirds.
Waiter was way too chatty.
The food was excellent and the waiter was very good but what really stuck out was how thorough the manager was. When we had a problem he was right there to fix it and see what else he could do to make the dining experience as good as it could be.
I’ve eaten here often and usually have a great experience. This time was quite the opposite. Despite 9pm reservations and a mostly empty restaurant, I had to wait for a table. The service was extremely slow. We had to wait a very long time to get our order taken, to get our drinks, to get bread to the table after asking for it, and then to be served our food. When our meal did finally arrive, my steak was rare (I had asked for medium). I asked that it be cooked more and waited a long time to get it back, only to find that it was still quite rare in the center. I let the waitress know, although I decided just to box it up and take home because everyone else was already done with their meal by that time. It didn’t even seem to phase the waitress. Instantly, this restaurant went from my family's standard go-to spot to a place we are unsure that we want to return to.
Excellent service during dinner. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive
Outstanding service all around. The wait staff was attentive, but not hovering, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. And the food and drinks were delicious.
Always great service at Gaithersburg Firebirds. We happened to have a large party - 3 generations - this time and everyone was pleased with their meal and how the staff handled our table.
The food and service were excellent as always. I really love this restaurant. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful.
The grill staff is inconsistent with respect to rare, med-rare and medium. It is hit or miss on them getting it right.
Table was not completely clean we had to have it cleaned...service was terribly slow and if it wasn’t for our hostess that seated us we not gave ever been serviced .... the food was good but lukewarm to almost cold. I had to go the bar and get our drinks to include water. No worries, we won’t visit the establishment again!
The roast prime beef was tasty but on the tough side
Was a prime rib special at $19.90 which was a reasonable price point. (alerted by email for specific dates.) Excellent salad and good recommendations/insights from wait staff. Ordered parmesan mashed potatoes. Don't.
My wife and I were disappointed that the prime rib had run out by 7 p.m., but manager (Al?) Honored the discount towards our rib eyes. Gabriel was very accommodating as well. It was nice to be able to get over the bump in the road. Perhaps we'll be able to enjoy the prime rib another time.
Prime rib was excellent and cooked perfectly, medium rare. Mixed green salad excellent as usual.
Ordered my "go to steak", the delmonico with chile rub, and it is usually very good. Unfortunately I got a bad cut and to top it off it was severely under-cooked. Medium rare is not that hard to do but I had to send it back and it took a while to get it to me. The Manager Crystal was very nice but it still took a while, plus it was over charred and basically 1/3rd of the steak was gristle and fat UGH! There is a risk you sometimes get more fat than bargained for with a delmonico steak, but in prior times it was fantastic. I honestly would not have served that particular cut to a guest, especially a frequent returning rewards customer who is on Open Table and buys a ton of gift cards from you.
This had become one of our favorite restaurants over the last year. However, in the last three months they have had major problems with their kitchen. Orders that used to take 20 minutes to prepare take 50. Steak is often significantly under or over cooked and the correction inevitably over-corrects. Management responds - I have gotten free dessert and last weekend did not pay for a prime rib that first came out cold and then came back significantly over cooked. But, getting frustrated that you cannot just go and enjoy a meal.
Firebirds has become one of our favorite restaurants. Never disappointed with the food and service. We are seated immediately upon arrival using Open Table. Great place for date night or happy hour. Just a nice social setting. Some of our favorite dishes - ribs, steaks, salmon, loaded baked potato, veggies, and now Philly steak egg rolls appetizer. Yes! I love this restaurant.
A very nice place for a classy but not very expensive evening. Love the drinks!!
We were celebrating our anniversary and our dinner at Firebirds was awesome. Our waiter was outstanding, the food was prepared perfectly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We look forward to coming back again.
