Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Chadds Ford Ratings and Reviews
This was our second time at Firebirds. We came back because we really liked the food and service the first time we visited. We ordered a pasta dish and a burger. We got a chicken sandwich and lukewarm pasta. The waitress was apologetic and immediately took both plates. A male brought the burger and pasta dish out to us and apologized. He may have been the kitchen manager as I noticed he ran plates out a few times. The pasta dish was cold. It went back one more time only to come out lukewarm again. The waitress checked in with us several times and apologized more than once. What I found strange was that the restaurant manager never came over to our table. My husband loved the burger. I took most of the pasta dish home and ate it the next day. It was very tasty. On a side note, the restaurant did not comp so much as the ginger ale we had. We will probably give it one more try as I assume it was just a series of unfortunate mistakes.
Firebirds allows you to decide if you want to eat healthier with many salad options; the downside though is that the salad ingredients aren't all that exciting or plentiful. On the plus side, the kids menu offers many legit options that you don't often see at other restaurants. I enjoy going to Firebirds with my family for dinner but wouldn't necessarily recommend it for drinks with friends. I've been there several times for drinks with girlfriends, and every time the server has clearly been trying to hustle us out of there without asking if we would like another round. It's uncomfortable and makes me only consider Firebirds as a place to go for dinner, not drinks.
I took my wife of 20 years there for her birthday I made a 4:15 reservation online and once there we were seated immediately. The waitress was awesome I wasn’t sure on what appetizers I wanted she recommended the seared tuna, it was awesome my wife loved it as well. The waitress checked on us periodically to make sure that we were okay and the atmosphere was relaxing. The cost was reasonable and once our dinner was completed leaving a nice tip was definitely deserved, even when leaving the door was held open for us both we will definitely return.
The food presentation was undesirable as the dishes were too big for the portions and there was no garnish to complete the plate. Service was too fast. We just sat down and barely had our coats off when we were asked if we were ready to order. We were celebrating a birthday and the non-complimentary desert came with a lit candle while two members of our party were in the restroom. As usual, the food was excellent but the experience was much less than what we have come to expect.
The service is friendly and accommodating. They moved us to a larger booth with no problem at all. The margaritas were especially good. My only complaint was the salmon I ordered was fresh but under-cooked. I know they would have fixed it, but I just didn’t want to bother them. All of the other dishes were amazing!
My husband and I took advantage of the Veterans' special and we were treated very well. The staff was outstanding and the food was Excellent!!! I have recommended this restaurant to many of my friends and all that have tried it have raved about everything too. This is my new "favorite" place to eat. Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
We like Firebirds, however this meal wasn’t the greatest. The appetizers and salads were great, but the main course was cold and the mashed russet potatoes did not taste good at all. The ambiance was great as well as the service. The food missed the mark this time.
Firebirds menu is loaded with great choices and the value is great as the prices are vey fair and there is a choice of portion sizes in many entrees. The only difficulty is the timing of the delivery of your food. On our last visit, our drinks arrived followed in about 3 minutes by our appetizers. Before we had barely started to eat our appetizers, the server brought our entrees. among the most common complaints in restaurants is slow service but some moderation of this rushed service would be a big improvement.
Food and drinks are always good and nice-sized serving. I took half of my meal home to enjoy the next day. Service was very good, but I was disappointed that they did not acknowledge that I identified a birthday celebration on my reservation. I didn't want to say anything in front of the birthday guest, so it did not get acknowledged even when we ordered dessert. It was nice that they had live music.
Firebirds is always a delight. It was the first time there for the friend I was with, and she so enjoyed the experience that she has been highly recommending the restaurant to friends and family. The deviled eggs were unique (with jalapeno and candied bacon) making quite a nice appetizer. As it happened we both had the American Kobe meatloaf and both were quite happy with our choice.
Food was excellent - Service was a bit slow, looked to be short handed.
Acoustics were brutal, music was there, but not discernible, could not carry on a conversation with individuals across the table without leaning 45 degrees and dipping my face in the coleslaw.
We'll probably return on a week nite. Never again on a week-end,
I absolutely love their signature drink and it’s presentation. Bread was warm & wonderful!! The BLT salad was awesome!
My only issue was following the chefs recommendation for cooking the salmon medium, well. It was too dry. I prefer it with some moisture.
It still remains one of my favorite restaurants!!
Great service from check-In desk and waitress. The Manager came to our table and was very friendly and helped my wife with allergy concerns. Appetizers came out quick but the main meal was slow getting to our table and one of the meals was not hot, maybe sitting for some time. However, food was very good and everything else about this place is great. The Manager does a great job every time we have been here.
