Great food wonderful selection. Noisy but were prepared for that. Would definitely go back.
We loved our first visit here! Sat at the bar and had a great experience!
Food great. Service with a smile!
Clever reservation system.
Very pleasant dining experience. The menu was varied and the food was presented well and was tasty. Outstanding service even though the restaurant was busy. Will definitely return.
Great spot in the Stratton Mountain Village for family dinner...Salads and steaks delicious! Great bar for apres too.
Food was very good. Loved the ambiance!
Our waitress was extremely inattentive and slow. We had to ask multiple times for items such as bread or water. She almost never checked on our table which made it difficult to ask for items that may have been missed.
It was busy for a Monday but it’s still ski season, so I assume that’s why. We sat in what I thought would be an uncomfortable table, a small two-top against a wall next to another, but it worked out fine. My companion had a fiddlehead beer and I had a passion fruit cosmo and both were great! We had appetizers of shrimp with noodles and pork potstickers which were excellent. I love when people use micro greens! We both had steaks which were very adequate in size and cooked perfectly (rare and medium rare) with a nice crust. I loved the colorful vegetable medley as well. I enjoyed that the plate wasn’t half full of potatoes as some places do, and these were good! We shared a pot Creme for dessert. It was very rich (we were warned) but was delicious! The service was excellent. The server appeared to have a very large section with diners at different stages of their meals. He was able to make sure that we had what we needed when we needed it and everything was well paced.
Although we were told our table was not ready when we arrived on time , we were seated quickly. Our waitress was patient and very good. The food was fresh, healthy, and creative. Notable was the Ahi salad app and the lobster and crab cake app. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The wines by the glass might be improved upon. Be forewarned, it’s a loud restaurant. Recommend.
Stratton is an expensive place to eat so we expected for it to be on the pricey side. That being said , we had to ask for bread and it was just ok for a place that charges $30 for an entree. I think it's better suited for their more casual menu choices. The lobster carbonara was very good though.
Fire Tower is a favorite. Great combination of family friendly with legit high quality cuisine. Service is very prompt and professional, they don't keep the kids waiting when they are tired after a long day on the slopes. Great for full dinner or just getting a bunch of apps to share. If you're skiing with family and friends and want a dinner out that's better than regular pub fare, Fire Tower is the call.
We went here for my Birthday dinner after making the reservation on Open Table and we had no wait time for our table and had a wonderful experience. First the server Scott was AMAZING. He was right on point with several Food and Drink recommendations. Not only was he very well versed in all of the menu options, he also took time with us to explain and discuss the options with us, not a lot of servers do this today... He recommended a few special cocktails from the menu which were all super custom drinks and they were all DELICIOUS!!! We then moved on to the Appetizers Salad was the beet salad it was great with a Maple Vinaigrette, we then had the Scallops and the Mushroom Appetizer. He warned me prior that "It's really for mushroom lovers", which I am and i was so happy to have ordered this dish. He also suggested the Scallops they were again... DELICIOUS. Them we had the Duck as the main entree and it was amazing. It was the first time I would even eat it... ! Normally I can taste a slight gaminess in the meat and can not eat it. Not only was it not gamey but the skin was perfectly crispy as well. Dessert was also great with a few select amazing choices!
We enjoyed it enough that we went back a few days later. Very noisy on Saturday night. Terrific service, especially considering how busy it was. Really appreciated ability to make reservations.
Enjoyed. Especially the veggie potstickers!
Food was bland, nothing surprising or worth remembering, felt a bit overcooked or old... At the table where we were seated, my chair was on the corner to the kitchen, so I was hit from time to time by a rushing service staff...
Awesome! Great spot. Drinks, food, vibe all spot on.
This is always a "must do" for dinner when we visit Stratton for skiing. Always good food and service. Recommend making a reservation as there can sometimes be a wait during holiday weeks or weekends.
Tough to get table reservation however we noticed that there were a few empty tables- so question if that is due to staffing or other reasons
Reservationists at front desk is the rudest person I have ever met in Vermont, where everyone is lovely and friendly, especially in Stratton. Will not fine there ever again.
Firetower never disappoints. If you can get a reservation (and that is not a given) you are guaranteed a tasty meal.
We were looking forward to our dinner as the menu descriptions looked intriguing. I called to say we were going to be late for our original time as we had a 3 1/2 hr drive to arrive to Stratton village. The reservationist said It was sold out for the evening, and absolutely could not accommodate a later dinner. As we were getting closer to Stratton, I went on OpenTable for availability, and it was wide open. The reservationists lied about the restaurant being booked for the rest of the night. I set an 845, and around 815 the reservationist called that our table is ready. I said we were on our way, arrival 845. She warned me in no uncertain terms that the kitchen was going to close at 9 PM As soon as we arrived, we felt pressured to order and that already did not bode for a enjoyable dining experience. In terms of the food, the experience was mediocre at best. The entrees were bland, and the presentation pedestrian. We felt rushed, and could not order a bottle of wine or appetizers in order to enjoy a nice meal as we felt time pressure. However people were being seated well after we arrived and well after 9 PM when the reservationist specifically warned me about the kitchen closing. We had reservations again for this evening which I had planned several weeks in advance. I passed them along to our friends who needed a place for dinner. When they were a few minutes behind the reservation the reservationist called me and reprimanded me. She is very rude, and a terrible representation for the restaurants owners to have a reservationist with her attitude as a gateway to patrons. She turned away our friends who needed a place for dinner after again 3 1/2 hr drive for them. I will never dine here with my family again, nor ever recommend this establishment to anyone that I know again. I hope people read through this long review and see how the service is when patrons have a choice of where to spend their dining$
Overall service rude, food mediocre at best.
Excellent food, very good service. A bit pricey. Had there been white table cloths and candles, it would have been perfect.
The food was good, especially the lobster carbonara, but some dishes could be taken up a level.
Great food, staff, service, and selection of craft beers. Ahi nachos not to be missed!!
We went expecting a wonderful experience and left very underwhelmed. Our server was very nice and seemed quite capable. We were given different menus and the one small plate entry we wanted was a cheese platter. That had been taken off the menu, creating the first disappointment. The wine was fine. We waited for the main course and were puzzled about the lack of a break course. When the waitress stopped for questions after the entrees were eaten, she told us that unless a patron specifically asks, they don't serve bread. She offered to bring it then but it was too late to help the meal. The pork porterhouse was fine, the salmon was properly cooked but underwhelming in its taste. A very disappointing experience when the management doesn't serve bread with a meal, probably just to same money and the server doesn't mention its availability as a matter of course. I would not recommend this as a dining experience for people looking for an upscale meal.
Great food and friendly staff, but things took a very long time to come out of the kitchen even though it was far from a capacity crowd. Not sure I would attempt it with a group this size on a busy night.
We have enjoyed eating at Fire Tower numerous times and this time did not disappoint. Delicious food and good set.
I had the grouper which was done to perfection, accompanied by greens and other cooked vegetables. My friend had the wiener schnitzel and loved it. I also had the wine tasting and lived the Pinot Noir from Oregon.
Very nice for a family dinner without having to travel away from the resort. Our only complaint was the level of noise in the dining room due to the proximity of the bar.
Specials werr tasty, but salty.
Great tasting food! A little pricey, but good flavor. Also has some nice cocktails.
Server was fantastic and food was delicious. We got the margarita pizza and salmon and the burger. Delciious!
Another excellent meal and experience at Fire Tower. Food is innovative and tasty and wait staff is professional as well as really personable and nice.
We dined early - 5:30 (it can be hard to get in if you don't reserve ahead), it was quiet at that time. Great food, service, ambiance. Home run - have been wanted to eat here for the past few years but didn't try to make reservation timely enough in the past.
Good food and service. Great alternative to the bar food/ burger/fries joints in the area.
Average at best....The kid’s food came out in under 15 minutes while the adult’s food came out about 30 minutes later when the kids were done and ready to leave. The chicken curry was over cooked and had no curry flavor. Fortunately, our waitress handled the issue very well. There are much better restaurants in Stratton for the price.
Everything was great! From the service to the food.
The staff was very friendly. The food was great though the price was definitely high as it is on the resort. But it was very convenient and good to get there early in the evening.
We come from the burgeoning restaurant scene in Philadelphia so our expectations are always high. The Fire Tower did not disappoint. Twin lobster tails were delicious and my husband’s steak was excellent. We had the wine pairings, which were both very good too. A great spot for tasty food apres ski!
