We had fun there, my husband was happy we took him there for his birthday.
The reservation process was easy, got right in without a wait, our server was friendly enough and brought drinks right away. However I felt the vegetable and toppings selection was poor. I do not eat meat so I was hoping for a large options of vegetables and I only found minimal (no red or yellow peppers, only white onions, only large slices of tomatoes for a few examples) . The salad was limp and brown and mostly iceberg. I could not locate any tofu or soy based “meat” products (there’s a lot out there these days). I made myself a burrito bowl and asked for guacamole and salsa. No guacamole was available and I had to ask four different people for salsa because they didn’t know what it was. Finally I was able to get some from my server who got it from out back. My husband and teenage children only got one bowl of food. They got full and wanted to box up their leftovers but we were told that wasn’t an option. I also got upcharged on my alcoholic drink without being asked. The price of 21.99 a plate was just not worth it. We were really excited to try this restaurant out and unfortunately we were disappointed and won’t be returning.
That last reservation was 9:30
When we got there they were closing in 30 min.. why would they schedule something 30 min before closing so unorganized.
I absolutely love this place & the staff is always nice the manager handles all situation with such a calm & positive attitude but the real stars in this place are the cooks they always keep me coming back for more
Way over priced for an average eater wife can only eat one small portion they should offer a one trip dinner
Watery overpriced drink
Waiting for the food was not fun
Waiting for the time to get food on center was a bit too long
We enjoyed ourselves.
Not bad, but less-conveniently-located than the former Harvard Square location, and the selection seemed slightly smaller. Plus, the tortilla wraps were cold and fragile.
The food was great, but the server should not have assumed that I wanted her to keep a tip of over 30% just because I paid in cash. I actually had to ask her for change after waiting for her to come back for 10 minutes. She then proceeded to drop all of the bills onto the wet, dirty floor and then gave them to me. Not impressed.
Food was great and loved the quick preparation. Loved the variety. It was very noisy so was not conducive to conversation, however, I would return.
This place is wonderful, no complaints , good food, good attention
Our waiter was great, as soon as we checked in we were seated immediately. My 7 year has requested his birthday be celebrated here. After this experience.... it is an absolute yes.
Food is fresh and delicious. Abundant choices. Cooking on grill top is excellent.
This was not what I expected. It is a low-grade buffet. The selections were poor and quailty was terrible. The worst part about it all is that the whole place felt filthy. The service and staff were very nice.
Hi Elizabeth, We are saddened to see your review. I'd like to assure you that we are extremely conscious of health/safety food guidelines and everything is completely up-to-code. With that said, we are currently transitioning to new ownership and management. These changes are a great opportunity for our store, and there are many plans to remodel and upgrade in the future. In the meantime, please trust we will speak with our in-house management team to address the cleanliness you experienced.
We come to Fire and Ice 2 times a year for our daughters bdays. This was the worst visit I had my daughter party there 7 of us. The person cooking the food was miserable did nothing for my daughter for her bday. He was so rude to the girls that they did not want to go back up and get food so we ended up leaving. I was so upset that this ruined my daughters bday. We said something to the waitress and she just laughed, that was very upsetting. Also it was a million degrees in there that made it so unconformable.
I love Fire and Ice! It's great every time we go. Between the different ages in our group (21-55), the vegan, and the no-beef-or-pork eater, it's difficult to find a restaurant where everyone in our party would be happy. Fire and Ice was perfect, though. It's always fresh, yummy, and fun!
Most of the experience was great! Food as always was awesome and so was the service. The only downfall was the seating area of the restaurant was very warm. I understand the grill in the center of the establishment gives off a tremendous amount of heat but there were certain areas of the restaurant that were very cool, just not in the seating area. Made for a bit of an unpleasant experience.
Love the ambiance and the variety of food. It always an amazing experinace.
Amazing experience, great server, A+ for the server, sadly i don't have her name.
it is such a unique experience, you have to eat there to experience it! no one can really describe it to you
We had a great experience at Fire and Ice. The atmosphere is hip and classy but casual and welcoming at the same time. Staff are very attentive and really seem to enjoy what they do. Lots of food options to build your own dish and all you can eat. The shrimp, in particular, was fresh and delicious. This is a unique and fun dinner option. We will definitely be back!
I took my daughter and niece here for a special brunch before a big day of back to school shopping on Newbury Street. The decor is dark and dated. The selection of food, although plentiful, was all low quality. My croissant (more like winderbread) had a stale garbage taste. One of the gentleman behind the grill was very bothered that he had to attempt customer service. Lots of staff hanging around doing nothing. We only did one trip to the buffet. There was a fly around our table the entire time we ate. Disgusting food and cost me over $100 for brunch.
Is a place for a young crowd, and if you don't mind waiting for a long time to cook your food in a very hot room, then is a good place to get a lot of food/options. However but the place is loud, run down and not very clean.. floors are sticky...
All was great- accept the temperature of the room- way too hot and it was cool outside finally. Need to improve AC system
Way to hot ac was not working uncomfortable to eat.
Lots of variety of options and a fairly good value for an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but the place was so hot & humid that it was hard to be comfortable. I felt as though everyone was sweating. It was very crowded, but the cooks do a pretty good job of keeping things organized at the grill area. Food isn't the highest quality, but if you want to splurge on lots of food, this is a good option. Just be careful going in the summer as it's very hot & humid up on the 2nd floor.
it was amazing, great service and food
I felt all my food was under-salted. Since I saw that they do not sprinkle salt during the grilling (the way hibachi steak houses do, then I am guessing they need to add it either to their ingredients or to the sauces. Either that or start sprinkling on the grill. Also, the mac and cheese sauce did not taste like any type of mac and cheese sauce and was simply not that tasty for me. The pesto sauce was also not flavorful either. Finally, on the ad I see a fire as part of the cooking but there was none when I went to the restaurant. They also need more vegetable options!
The lineup around the griddle could be more organized with direction as to which way the line starts.
Enjoyed this restaurant very much. Only thing that would be better would be to lower the music, struggled a bit to have a conversation. Great food, fresh, fast, many options!!
Always a great time. We make sure to stop here every visit to Boston.
Friends of ours had recommended this restaurant to us. We were visiting Boston for the weekend and gave it a try. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The service was great. The food was delicious. The price was a good value for the experience and quality and amount of food.
Very good and unique experience! Not too expensive, and options for all types of eaters.
We brought a group of hungry youth from our church ministry. They loved the food and enjoyed their time. Since it was during lunch time we didn’t get the full show. Also, the ice cream bar attracted their attention but cost almost as much as their meals. Aside from that, food was great, fresh, and with every penny.
Great place,we visit often. There has been a recent changeover of staff, we only notice because this is a place we frequent. The only down side is that the grill cooks tend to talk alot to each other and not interact with customers. I asked for my food well done, to be cooked a bit longer, but instead they chopped it up and it became dry.
We went here for the first time with some friends visiting from out of state. We had three kids with us, one only being 5. It was a fun experience and we all enjoyed being able to view the choices and make our own customized meal. The sauces choices were great with something there for everyone. And there was a great mix of choices for everyone in our group. Everything was fresh, and was being replenished very often. As busy as it was when we were there at 7:30 pm it was very organized and moved quickly. We will definitely be coming back.
Family members had a wonderful time and we would return in the near future.
It's always fun to be able to pick exactly what food goes in your meal! Food was cooked perfectly and was reasonably priced for how much myself and my fiance ate!
Unique eating experience, where you pick out your food to be cooked on a large round metal grill. Wide assortment of fruit;vegetables; meats & seafood to choose from. Varied assortment of sauces & spices to add from mild to spicy. & you can keep going up & refill until you are full. & Very reasonably priced.
Great food. Quick Service. Casual and fun. One of my favorite places.
