Unfortunately the Fire and Fork was on fire when we arrived for our meal! Wishing the owners and staff well in dealing with the damage and hope that they are able to open again soon

We went for the first time here, for our daughters birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, and the service was prompt and friendly, most of us had burgers and was a bonus to find out they had a deal with a drink included with those meals. So couldn't fault the bill either. We would return again. 🙂

Average food, little to no atmosphere for a Friday evening. It was cold inside. The external lights were all off including their sign. Some drinks unavailable. Not great value for money, plenty of other restaurants in and around Abergavenny provide better atmosphere and quality of produce. We won't be visiting again unfortunately.

Service was slow, we ordered before 2 other tables but their food came out first and we had to ask where our starters were. Starters were disappointing but edible and we were starving by that point, had been sat for an hour by then. Once starters were cleared we waited another 30 minutes for the mains. When they came the food was shocking, we both had Double Cheese burgers, tiny burgers cooked until they were like rubber, one small blob of cheese was all I could find, chewy bacon, and a huge stale bun. Fries under cooked, coleslaw had large end slices of cabbage in. There were only 6 tables of people, 5 x 2 and 1 x 4. A third of the menu wasn’t available due to a missing delivery and the front of house staff consisted of 2, one of which was clearly new and nervous and the other looked like they’d lost the will to live. Oh, and the table next to us complained about their food too.

Hi Mandy, We’re sorry to hear your visit with us at Fire & Fork wasn’t particularly a good one and we can only sincerely apologise that the service you received didn’t meet your expectations. We take feedback very importantly as it helps us to improve, which is something we are always trying to do in all areas, especially customer service. We do feel we offer good service to our customers, our waitresses who are trained to a high standard did perform a routine check to ensure food and drinks were of quality, but unfortunately when asked, there were no concerns raised during their communication. Thanks for the feedback with us Mandy, we appreciate it, and as stated, we’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your experience. We hope the 20% off your bill compensated for your experience.

Unfortunately when we visited, they were having problems in the kitchen where we waited over an hour for our starters. Asked the waitress if this would be the same for mains and she stated no it will be 5/10 mins so we waited and when it hit the 20 mins point we decided to just leave. We were offered a free round of drinks which was nice but we were so hungry at this point and some didn’t order a starter we just decided to order a takeaway back at home. Slightly disappointed as the food did look lovely but must have caught them on a bad day.

Hi Georgina We are really sorry to hear your visit to the fire and fork wasn’t what you expected, particularly when you felt the food looked lovely, which we’d have to agree with you on! We unfortunately had power supply issues through the middle of the night you visited us, which delayed the food coming out. All of our food is cooked freshly and cooked to order. The front of house team updated tables regarding the delays and could only apologise for such an inconvenience that was beyond their control and we have since rectified the situation. We hope you visit us again in the near future when things run a lot smoothly, Many thanks The Fire & Fork team

Food tasted burnt, not worth the money. Asked for a cocktail as food was served and didn’t get it. Wasn’t happy at all as I had high expectations. Explained to waitress and gave us 10% off. Would not recommend!

Very disappointed with the quality of food , seemed to be cheap cuts of meat , chicken wings were frozen not fresh , Salad corn and pickles were very nice, just a shame about the meat and expensive for what we had the sharing platter.

I'm local to the area but this was my first visit to Fire & Fork and I just wish I'd gone there sooner. Even though the menu choices are a bit limited, what you get get is beautifully cooked food and presented really well. My quality sirloin steak was cooked just to my liking and all the trimmings were perfect. The service was great too. Really friendly staff and the room had a great ambience. It was very quiet on the night though, so I don't yet know how all that may change on a busier night. I hope they do get busier nights those because these guys need to stay in business. I certainly plan to go back there soon. Just a lovely meal where my high standards were met if not exceeded.

Some food was nice and some was ok. We had the share platter and some other bits. The platter really was not worth the money. Did see a burger going to someone’s table which looked huge and tasty so would only ever go back to try that. Staff were fab though
