Fiorella Italian Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Great food. Everyone in my party of six loved their meals. My Shrimp Alfredo was excellent! The lasagna is a creative twist on a classic dish and the two who ordered it enjoyed it.
The atmosphere is fun with a view of the observation wheel and waterfront.
Our waitress was excellent.
Seated promptly. Served water and bread promptly. We ordered immediately. Everything after that went downhill. The restaurant was super loud; bad acoustics. The waitress didn’t check back. After 1 hour I flagged down someone since our waitress had done a disappearing act. I noted we hadn’t received our meals and it had been an hour. She said she would check on our orders. We had only ordered one salad, one personal-sized pizza and chicken pasta Alfredo. 70 minutes in two people got their food. I got mine another 10 later as they forgot my pizza.
Salad as noted as being flavorless. Pasta was not with Alfredo sauce, more like butter with something different. Runny, not creamy. Not bad, but not great. My pizza was a disgusting mess. Seemed raw, two ingredients were so sparse as to be almost non-existent. There was zero form to this pizza and no flavor.
Waitress was apologetic, when she had finally dropped food off. Thank goodness for the nice manager. She felt awful and comped our meals. She explained she had new chefs and runners. That seemed apparent as my co-worker pointed out 1/2 way through our wait that ALL the wait staff and some runners were in a big group with tickets waving and in heavy discussion. Apparently they had mixed up orders and/or were remaking them.
Note for restaurant: Things wouldn’t have been as bad had your waitress checked back with us and dropped off an appetizer or offered wine or something during the more than hour wait to take the edge off our hunger. But we were left with our one roll and one glass of water per person for 70 minutes after a long conference day!
It took the server over 20 mins to bring our drinks. From the time we sat down our food came out 45 mins after we sat, and at different times, so some we cold. Our server never checked on us. One of our entrees was entirely wrong because our server wrote down the wrong item. Not staffed right and kitchen was really really slow. The food was good once we all got it, aside from temp. We did not send back as it would probably take too long to refire, nor did we order a 2nd round of drinks due to our initial 20 minute wait. Disappointing to say the least.
We arrived for our reservation and was surprised by the noise level in this small Italian restaurant. A lot of locals and young adults for homecoming were eating there.
We asked to sat outside due to the noise level and that helped.
Our ordered drinks took a very long time to arrive, and a few were forgotten. Bread, olive oil cheese and far after our main entrees.
It seemed that service was overwhelmed.
Overall the food was good.
Would give this restaurant another try if I'm in town again.
My husband and I split the open faced lasagna. It was so unique! It is a cross between a lasagna and a pizza with the "crust" consisting of lasagna noodles folded over and tones of ricotta cheese, sauce, sausage and ground meat. Plenty of food for two people. Our server did his best to be attentive but it seemed like the servers had very little help. For such a busy place, they should have staff to refill our water and give us fresh baked rolls, etc.
Ordered Spaghetti w/meatballs and Blue Cheese Wedge Salad. The Spaghetti Sauce was great. The meatballs were not appetizing. The wedge salad was excellent. They bring you bread served from their basket (kind of annoying), but they do serve with olive oil and balsamic. The service made everything better as it was outstanding!
Great halfway place for a friends meet-up from DC/NoVa and Annapolis area. Not too expensive or high end but nicer than fast casual, varied menu, prompt and friendly service - and food tasted good!
All the hard surfaces made for a loud venue, not a first date or romantic setting.
Housemade burrata - sets them apart.
We'll go back.
I ordered the seafood pasta (26$). The food was really good. However the portion size was terrible. After eating there I was still hungry. So I decided to try a different restaurant. If your not terribly hungry it's a great place. But if you are make sure to order two meals.
Have you ever experienced reading a description of a restaurant's entree, in their menu, or saw a photo of it online and then were disappointed when the genuine article shows up at the table. You know just by looking at it that it is some frozen restaurant supply microwave special. Well you will not have that experience at this establishment. You can tell by the unique style and presentation that everything from the wedge salad, to the Lasagna, and every desert on the menu is hand prepared at Fiorella Italian Kitchen (I know because we tried all of them).
When we walked in I gave our name and let them know I made the reservation on, "Open Table," and we were seated immediately. No, "Just one moment Sir." Rather, the hostess grabbed 3 menus and stated, "Of course, follow me please," and took us right to our table. Before she could finish pouring our water the waitress was there to take our drink a appetizer order. The service never slacked off like some restaurants do where they deliver the food and disappear into the Bermuda Triangle. The server continued to return at regular intervals throughout the meal, and the manager also stopped by twice to ensure everything was satisfactory. I ordered the Calamari for an appetizer, Lasagna for the main entree, and the cheese cake for desert. Not only was everything prepared to perfection, but the generous portions were such that I could not eat everything without risk of indigestion so I freely admitted defeat. This restaurant crew earned every start on the five star rating. Fantastic job folks! I will definitely eat here again on a return trip to the DC area.
Our second visit and still very pleased. Easy reservations and our requested booth was
available. Couple little hiccups on our orders but easily handled and no hassles.
The Chicken Melanse was the best I have ever had!! It had been pounded into almost the size of
a pizza! So delicious. The seafood pasta and at the lasagna also passed high inspection.
We were here on a Saturday evening for a date. The atmosphere is fun, rustic, Italian. The server was fine, but not very enthusiastic. The food we had was very good with the exception of the rolls and olive oil/balsamic dip - those were uninspired. We can definitely recommend the homemade mozzarella balls appetizer (excellent) and the baked salmon and the shrimp fettuccini entrees.
This was our anniversary dinner. Overall, it was good...but there were a few things that need improvement. After reading the other reviews, I was hoping my experience would be different, sadly it was not. We we seated, orders taken with no issue. The appetizer (meatballs)warm--not hot. The plate and sauce was hot, the meatballs were a bit warmer than room temperature. Mozzarella balls were very hot, both came out at the same time why was one hot and the other warm? The food came out and was supposed to be hot...it warm at best. Well mine was. Cold...warm pasta is not very good. Especially when the sauce is cold...Baked Chicken Alfredo was a 5 out of 10.
I guess you have to ask for refills of your drink(s), we patiently waited for refills well into the meal. The very attentive server/waiter that took our orders morphed into a almost non visible person. When the refills were placed on the table, the empty glasses sat there. It took someone else to remove the glasses.
If I ever return, I would get the food to go. The service is not all that great and I can warm my food at home since it came out lukewarm at best.
I had such high hopes for this place.
Upside my husband's Chicken Pepperoni Parmesan was fantastic as was the icecream. Only two good things that came from that meal.
We visited here on mother's day for dinner....we were sat right away according to our reservation time. The server wasn't very responsive or attentive from the start....didnt have recommendations or suggestions and couldn't describe the spice flavor the 5 spice ribs besides that they weren't spicy...drinks sat empty until we asked for more water/soda ...the food is really really tasteless....even the pizza is bad. Ledo pizza would have been better, seriously. The calamari is too thick and not crispy enough again with no sort of flavor and the dipping sauce was just as underwhelming. The seafood pasta was also horrible and we will unfortunately not be returning here . Ever.
