Welcoming & friendly staff, great cuisine, lovely wines... obviously a neighborhood favorite, as there was a constant stream of locals coming in -- greeting familiar faces. As we're from 'out-of-the-neighborhood', a reservation seems essential. We're sure to visit them again.
This was our second visit in a month, so obviously enjoyed the first experience. Food was OK this time, without being great. Service generally was good, although it took probably 15 minutes to get first drinks after I eventually called someone over. You are not the only restaurant guilty of this, but if I was the owner, I would drum into staff that they MUST take initial drink orders soon after seating guests....with drinks to be served swiftly. That way the evening gets off to a good start.
Wonderful, creative food and very attentive service.
Great place, local, close, nice food, attentive staff. Worth your support.
Food was good but they initially burnt the pizza and it took a really long time for the food to come out. They sent out olives to compensate.
Nice room good service but the food was not great. They need to redo this menu. I’m not a fussy eater but I’m used to much better food at other vancouver restaurants with similar price point. I live nearby so would love to come here often..
Loved it! A mix of families, young children, grandparents, singles and a private party!!
Have eaten here twice and will be back
Enjoyable from the moment we arrived. Friendly attentive staff, nice decor/lighting/ambience, good food, reasonable value. We shall return.
Waited for an hour for an our entree and were rudely dismissed by the server. We paid for the starters and wine and left without entrees. Have not been treated so badly in a restaurant ever
The food's good, the seervers attentative, it's a pleasant experience, albiet a bit noisy due to echoing.
3rd time eating at Fiore... definitely a family neighbourhood favourite
Great local Italian restaurant on the west end. Staff was very friendly and made it a great experience. Food was great! Highly recommend!
Thank you for your kind words!
My second visit to this very welcoming place-- this time for lunch. The menu offers an
appropriate range of options-- and very reasonable prices. I had the "avocado toasts" really yummy
and layered with novel additions. The perky salad partner was also a superior product.
I'd rate at a higher star-- but reserve those for places that are "worth a journey" altho
Fiare Familia is definitely worth a MAJOR detour! We plan to return again soon.
Hey Sally thank you so much for great review! We are looking forward to seeing you again!
The waitress was a true professional. She knew exactly when to jump in and when to leave us be. Very much appreciated.
Thank you Pete! Those kind of words are so nice to hear!
The service was great, and the ambience of the restaurant great as well. However, the food could have been better. I felt that it was not great value. The carbonara was a bit too creamy for my liking - not enough meat or cheese. The bucatini (served with spaghetti instead that day) was okay, but nothing to write home about. Food could have been warmer and more flavourful.
Hi there, thank you for your feedback! I'll relay your comments to the kitchen. Btw. we don't use cream in our carbonara - it's just cheese and egg yolk
Appetizer and main dishes were great. Dessert was a panna cotta which had separated (cream on top and gelatin on bottom) and the two we had ordered were different in size - not good. The service was pleasant but very slow, especially considering the restaurant was very quiet that night.
Hi Smasha, glad to hear you enjoyed the whole dinner and sorry to hear about the dessert. I'll give your feedback to our chef and next time you'll come for dinner everything will be top notch!
Good service and food very reasonably priced I recommend it
Thank you John!
Our favourite local family restaurant. Menu good , service excellent, varied wine selection
Thank you for your review Mick! See you again soon
A jewel of a neighborhood restaurant. Friendly and knowledgable staff on wine pairings. Great menu with yummy food. Great for dates or group events!
Thank you for your kind words! This keeps us getting better every day!
Amazing food! The service was excellent, they treat you like family!
Thank you Angelina! Happy to hear we made you feel like home!
Great service, excellent food! We went with three children who were offered a kids menu but enjoyed the food from the adults menu instead. Kid friendly but with an elegant atmosphere!
Hi Aaron! Thank you for your review! Warms our hearts!
It was packed here tonight but the service and the food were still great! This is a true neighbourhood gem.
Thank you for the support and happy to hear you enjoyed your dinner!
Tries hard but menu could be bit more extensive and some of the classics could be done in a more...classic way.
Thank you for your feedback! We are Italian inspired and we will never be authentic Italian. Our kitchen is very small as you can see if you walk by and that's the biggest limitation for the size of our menu. We do our best with what we have and there are some "classics" on the menu with simple flavors - ask our servers for recommendations next time you're in.
Had a great evening. Will definitely go back.
The manager was very accommodating as I changed the number if people coming just before our reservation.
Looking to have you back Howard! And thank you for your review!
PIzza was very much undercooked. Waiter did remove item from bill. Wine was excellent.
Quaint space, well spaced tables. Fantastic seasonal food as well as comforting favourites. Drink menu is imaginative while being familiar. Delicious takes on the classics. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.
Everything was phenomenal, from the service and the food. What a wonderful treat to have this spectacular restaurant in kits!
Hi Maegen, thank you for kind words!
Had a group of women in on Friday night. Reservation was for 7:30pm.
Service was great, and amount of food suggested was great.
Unfortunately the two spaghetti carbonara (which I had on a previous visit) was almost inedible. VERY salty. One of them we barely touched, and the server noticed but said nothing. That person, had to share pizza with others at the table in order to be full. By the time the end of the meal came, we were the last table, and it was difficult to give our server feedback as the chef was still their prepping and could hear us.
As well, I do appreciate the restaurant slows down and usual closes at 10:00pm as it states on your website, but our dinner was a special occasion - my 40th birthday. The server put up all the chairs around us on the tables, turned on the lights in order to have us leave asap, even though we were still having dessert and coffee. This left a bad impression on all of us at the table, and unfortunately none of us will likely dine again with you, as we felt so uncomfortable. Had it been midnight, I would have understood, but 10:30pm was a little early to usher us out.
I am really sad to send this review, as I had such a lovely meal this time last year for my birthday, and was hoping for the same. I do hope this helps give feedback on the food and service for future diners.
Hi Alison, I'm really sorry to hear about your experience and I would like to apologize for unprofessional behavior of our server. It was his last shift and we thought we are able to coun't on him after a year of working here... I would like to reach out and get in touch with you and make this right. Would you please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you again for your feedback Jakub Palous, Manager
Undercooked ravioli—edges still hard; pizza OK; salads good but overpriced relative to experience, as is whole menu; service adequate; had to ask for plates for pizza, no offer of Parma or pepper with pasta, patio door wide open on cool windy evening making the place quite chilly; why is the bartender waiting tables when the place isn’t busy? Super nice guy but having to run around which caused him to forget things. Overall, a confusing vibe—pub level service with potentially excellent but flawed food managed by evidently caring people. Not quite there yet.
Hi there, thank you, we really appreciate your feedback! Will be discussing you feedback with our chef as well as the bar manager. Please next time mention it immediately to your server and we'll make sure to fix everything straightaway (remake the dish or offer you anything else). Pricing is being kept at lowest level possible but there is a lot of labor behind every dish and with labor cost, rent and all other associated costs customers is Vancouver will have to adjust.
Great food and service! Very glad to have this in our neighborhood!
Thank you so much for your review and for your visit! We are here for our neighbors and your words warm our hearts!
Great room, excellent Italian wine list, amazing pastas and desserts!
Thank you Angus!
We had a wonderful dinner. We would come back again.
Looking forward to having you again!
The antipasti was kind of okay, even though a bit boring. The mains - pappardelle and toleto - was the worst I had over the last 40 years. Both of us had tummy aches
I'm sorry to hear that your experience wasn't great. Pappardelle is one of our guest's favorite pasta and that's why it's been on the menu since we open ... not sure what you meant by toleto. All our cooks are Food Safe certified and our kitchen has all food safe procedures in place! I feel deeply sorry if you felt like we didn't do a good job and I hope you'll give us another chance. Jakub Palous, Manager
I keep wanting to love this restaurant. Their appetizers are delicious, but this is the second time their mains have been underwhelming. Good flavors, but the pasta was undercooked. It was tough to eat..
Welcome addition to neighborhood
Definitely will return
Good wine selection, lovely menu, nice ambiance. 100% will go again.
Fabulous food and even better service. Abdullah was perhaps the best server we’ve had in Vancouver! Absolutely made our experience.
The restaurant phoned an hour or so before our reservation to explain the pizza oven was out of service. There was only one pizza on the menu we had looked at on line that appealed to me. The main menu lacked any thing that appealed to me. I am 84 and prefer traditional soul food. Stuff piled up on a plate with unknown substances squirted on and all forms of strange greens do not appeal to me or my friends.
I went along with going to this restaurant because Trafalgers was a favorite of my wife & her lunch friends. The only thing on the menu I was prepared to try was the beef shank what ever with smashed potatoes & mushrooms. The funny beef patties were so dry, I was only able to eat two and left half the smashed potato a decent helping of gravy might have helped. The potatoes were lumpy - I guess I imagined nice 'mashed potatoes'. The wine was very good - only had one 6 oz glass as I was the duty driver. We were guests of a friend from London so I don't know how much the bill was.
Great value for the money and service. Food was a little bit on the salty side. Good cocktail selections. I will return again to try the pizza next time.
Food was tasty, noise level from music was too high.
