Located inside The Chabad Loft (Kavanah Space), Fins & Scales Omakase offers a one of a kind exclusively Kosher Sushi Omakase experience. The unique experience features an intimate 6 seat sushi counter with your very own private chef for a 75-minute, Multi-Course Kosher Omakase. Omakase is $118++/person taxes, fees, and service charges. Kosher certification is provided by the IKC (International Kosher Council) as well as by the Chabad Loft. Proceeds go to help benefit Chabad Loft and Kavanah Space in their efforts to provide a rich Jewish experience to those living in the Greenwich Village area.

This was such a unique and delicious experience! As a kosher consumer, we don't get to have this kind of sushi experience normally. It was lovely, interesting and so yummy!

Really wonderful food, and all around really welcoming hostess, who advised us about BYOB or buying drinks there, which was really nice. The time did feel a bit rushed because we arrived a bit late and there was another seating, so I wish, demand allowing, that the bookings be changed to maybe two seatings a night rather than the three currently bookable, to enable a more leisurely environment and experience.

I’ve never been speechless after eating at a restaurant before. Every single course was better than any piece I’ve ever had at an omakase place or any restaurant. The chef was super chill and we had some nice conversation. Overall incredible time and would 100% go back again. The only downside is that it’s only open on Thursdays

Wow! Absolutely delicious. The best sushi I have ever had. So fresh and so flavorful!! The experience is great with a 6:1 ratio. The chef was A+ 10 stars!!!

This was the best Omakase I’ve ever had and I’ve been to Japan! I really loved the miso black cod, branzino, and tuna pieces. The chef explained the origins of each piece in a very intimate setting. This place is perfect for a friends’ get together, business meeting, or a date. There is only 6 people per sitting so it is quiet and a great place to talk. I highly recommend coming here.

Food was fantastic. However, this was our first Omakase experience and didn’t quite know what to expect. Advertised as an exclusive/private experience. Reservation was subsequently made and confirmed as a table for two. In reality we were seated at the venue’s one sushi bar with 4 other people. Apparently this is de rigueur for Omakase but we didn’t know it. Best for a fun night out, not for an intimate special celebration.
