The food was not the quality I was expecting.
Shrimp starter was amazing.
Sum share ribs and spring rolls were just okay. The smacked cucumbers were very good.
The sea bass honestly tasted like tilapia - very bland and did not have the shape of a good sea bass
Attentive service and interesting ambiance but disappointed the food did not meet expectations at all.

Fine China has been a stop for me each time I go to Dallas, but our service this time was terrible. Our waiter was extremely rude, condescending and inattentive. He brought me a wine glass with a dead bug and blood smear on the side of it, and he was not apologetic when I pointed it out and asked for a new one (and he still charged me for it). At the end of our meal, we asked him for the dessert menu; after 45 minutes of him not coming back by, we had to ask another waitress for our check. I love the food and ambiance of Fine China, but I'm not sure I will be returning after this service. :(

Place was empty but wanted to give it a go. Our Server was very personable and engaging. Great ambiance. Food was 'ok'. Pricey for the amount given.

We had seen the 'dinner' menu when we were choosing restaurant so we were disappointed the Lunch menu was VERY VERY limited. (Wanted the duck). Our server did mention that the dishes would be served 'as they were ready so start eating...don't wait'..... but....3 main dishes came out at same time and the remaining 2? Literally, 25 to 30 minutes later. Our adult kids were done with their meals by then. Did I mention we were the only ones in the entire restaurant? Pork wontons and braised pork belly (very small portion) was very very good.

Oddly, there were also 2 mosquitos that wouldn't leave our table though we were having fun trying to kill them.

Most likely, will not return.

The overall experience was pleasant and the waiter apologized for them being short staffed since management did not anticipate the number of customers on July 4th for dinner. Our dim sum was comped because of an oversight, too.

The food was flavorful but a couple of the dishes were overpriced for the portions. The service was good when factoring in the lack of staff.

We loved the overall retro decor and how they kept original feel of the hotel; however, the little corner with the plants needs some attention. The Christmas Poinsettia needs to be buried.

I had a fantastic birthday dinner at Fine China! My husband and I enjoyed the garlic chili prawns at our server's recommendation, as well as scrumptious sea bass and pork belly with steamed bao buns (another recommendation from our server, I would not have thought to add to bao buns to the order but they were excellent!) We finished the night with a vanilla soft serve sundae with salted Miso caramel, very nostalgic and delicious. I will definitely return to try more from this exciting menu!

Absolutely terrible service. Patrons were few and far between, as it was a Wednesday, but so were servers. Once we alerted our server that we had been waiting 10+ minutes for our three beers, we were blown off; when we couldn't find out waiter for another 10 minutes, we asked to speak to a manager but were told there were none on-site; the head cook kept screaming at other chefs in the open kitchen, etc. etc. When we finally got our food, it wasn't bad. The dim sum was fine and the pork belly was the one great item, but all three of the noodle dishes were swimming in oil and tasted bizarrely sweet. The two vegetarian dim sum items came out after all the other food, which was weird pacing. Such a shame -- this place is decorated well but will probably not last very long, due in large part to staff who clearly would rather be working anywhere else in the world.

Our reservation was at 7 on Saturday - waiter told us Sold out of duck entree. Only reason we went to Fine China . Ordered another entree and they forgot it. Completely forgot to make the entree. Everyone at table had finished eating. Sat us in bar area even though we made a reservation a week in advance on open table. No waiter. Our waiter was the bar tender. Bad customer service. Disappointed for sure.

Appetizers we had dumplings, ribs good; for dinner Soy Chicken with a side of garlic noodles; it was amazing. The skin was crispy and the meat was very moist and tender. I wanted the Cantonese duck but said they had ran out. The very kind waitress told me when making a reservation you can pre-order the duck. I’ll will be going back we all had a wonderful time.

Fun alternative to everyday Chinese restaurants for celebrating adult birthday. Space is open, with lots of hard surfaces, so very loud-but our group of 3 was small enough to still be heard. Excellent chicken lettuce wraps, vegetable spring rolls just ok. Pork belly entree very good. Egg fried rice had an actual halved egg on top- fun twist.

Fine China is a beautiful restaurant with descent Chinese fusion food. Unfortunately the service is subpar. I can only assume lack of training, constant turnover, and unimpressive restaurant management are some of the causes. As a "high end" and "fine dining", there was lack of anticipation from the server. Each server has his/her dedicated tables. Server B would be more than happy to fetch the server who is responsible for my table but would not accept my simple requests (e.g. large spoon, rice bowls, common serving utensils).

We had a great dinner here. We are both vegetarian and were guided through the menu and shown all of our options and what modifications could be made. Everything we had was very good. We were celebrating my birthday and they comped our dessert, a burnt miso vanilla soft serve--simple and delicious. Our server was so helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Was so I’m impressed with our waitress who offered recommendations and provided excellent service. Even told us about the bars at the Statler to visit after dinner. Food was wonderful. Could have eaten a million pork wontons. Wish the chicken fried rice portion was larger. Carb omelette was a little greasy, but very good.

The Wagyu beef was tough which I really hate when that happens. What I mustn’t realize is, that meat is rather tough since it’s SO lean!! I won’t order it again!! We loved our Sake and all the other food we had!!! The matre d saw us looking around the lobby so he offered to give us a tour of the place up to 19th floor so that was Very Wonderful!!!! I’ve been to Fine China twice now and loved both visits including seeing how lovely the Statler is!!!!

Excellent as always. I’ve eaten here maybe 10 times when staying at the hotel. Wait staff is always friendly and cheerful. The food is a good mix of basic asian with some standouts like the beef tartare. The amount of food is almost too much. I always have to get a to go box. Highly recommended.

Delicious appetizers, small plates, noodle dishes and drinks. Very limited selection of entrees. And if you love crispy duck, this is the place to get it. BUT, make sure you place the order for duck when you make the reservation. They will not have any left if you wait to order it when you arrive. Also, ask for a table in the back. The front tables are not very intimate. Plus know if you want to have your own private dining room, they have them available for groups of 6-10.

This was among the worst excuses for anything resembling either authentic or Western-style Chinese food that I have ever experienced. The shu mai was akin to a frozen variety or those in buffet lines. The dumpling wrapping was missing on one of the dumplings, and the filling did not resemble anything remotely acceptable in any cuisine genre. I have had many shu mai in more than 100 trips to Hong Kong, throughout PR China (especially in the Guangdong province) and many authentic dim sum restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. This was a pitiful, tasteless filling wrapped in nothing that could possibly be called a dumpling wrapper. The gailan (Chinese broccoli) was equally awful. It was coated in a powdered garlic/salt blend and was overcooked to the point of the stalks losing any bite. The attempt at a "rice bowl" for lunch was equally disappointing. How can any "Chinese" restaurant make rice so poorly? The accompaniments were not fresh, and the entire bowl was more like a fast-food outlet like Panda Express.

The food was great but the server was off from the get go. Instead of introducing himself and asking the follow up question about us ordering the duck plate prior to our arrival, his first interaction was “Do I have this correct?” I had to ask him what he was speaking about. I also had to ask for his name.

He never brought out the ribs we ordered as part of the appetizer and he forgot to order the duck that we requested and reserved. Though we did get the duck, it took another 30 minutes after our plates were picked up. Though he took full accountability which was refreshing and a 10% discount on our bill, this dampened the dining experience.
