The drinks and food were truly superb. My friends and I popped in for drinks and appetizers, which was met with a snooty attitude by the staff, specifically our waitress, who made it clear she was unhappy that we were not eating a full meal at her table. She was a great waitress and we would visit again, but there is certainly an “attitude” in the air.
i paid $90 each for two dinners the only reservation they had was outside . i thought you would be able to hear the jazz outside but couldnt hear anything . the second dinner was takeout , they put all the food in one container all mushed together and didnt give the vegies . not a good experience ,although the wait staff was very nice
Fantastic Thanksgiving meal. Sat right near the stage for the live jazz. Incredible staff, and the food really hit the spot. Would come back in heartbeat, and already planning to do so with friends when it’s possible
Overpriced restaurant. Drinks and food are too expensive for their quality. We sat outside. Inside it is a beautiful restaurant.
Love coming here.
Cocktails are fantastic
The music is delightful
Loved the atmosphere and food. Was great that there was a jazz band. We will definitely be back next time we are in New York again.
Outdoor or indoors (where the ceilings are high, the tables are very well spaced apart, and the staff is always masked), this place just keeps getting better. From the innovative cocktails to the delicious food to the great spirits selection to the impeccable service, there's nothing to dislike about this place. I've been going here regularly since it opened, and let me tell you, they need YOU here now more than ever. If you love good food, good drinks, and good music (there's always a solid band on the stage, but they're strictly for background listening), you need to check out Fine & Rare, and while you're at it, hit up its sibling the Flatiron Room as well.
Great food and the live music was great and a nice treat in these altered times.
Great tomahawk steak, amazing selection of scotches and whiskey cocktails, smoothest old fashioned i’ve had without relying on sugar! Staff is really fantastic and knowledgeable, passed our 2 hour limit by just a little but no one pushed or rushed us which was very classy, would recommend everyone to step out of their comfort zone a little here!
Also kudos to the live jazz band, big new orleans fans here so it hit all the right spots for us
The performers were fantastic! A pleasure to enjoy tasty food, good drinks and live music once again. The service was terrific and we felt completely safe. Thank you to the entire staff for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Will definitely return.
Amazing find in NYC. Live music during the pandemic. Excellent group on Tuesdays. I will return
Fine and Rare is a very intimate, romantic restaurant. The ambiance is exceptional with amazing view to the stage from anywhere you sit. The food is impeccable and the waiters are all very friendly.
Booked a reservation here for me and my wife’s 1st wedding anniversary and I am glad I did. The food was amazing (tomahawk steak was worth the money) and so was the service (our waitress was always quick to refill our wine glasses). When I reserved, I requested to have a good view of the stage and they accommodated that request. By the way, the live jazz was an awesome part of the experience. Would come back again!
Only giving 2 because the staff was nice
Kobe chef's special was good
Crab cake was super oily
How many times can you mess up a potato gratin? Twice and failed
Now not that $21 gonna make me richer or poorer
But to charge a covid fee is insanity we are not responsible for covid why should we pay a fee for that?!?!? Your business is open you have a revenue and your employees are back to work and off the unemployment
Think of all people that lost their jobs and dealing with depression and anxiety and they just wanna dine out to change the mood? Think of that family of 4 or more who wants to take the kids out even tho can't afford it! Pay the food bill add 10% tax add a minimum 20% tip and on top of it you wanna add extra covid charges??????? At least if you're gonna rob people with their eyes open, notify them tell them ahead of their visit that you'll be charging them just like you make the call to confirm the reso,
That was first and last visit to this establishment
Perfect date night or special occasion location. Great Live Music! Stylish Decor.... Food was excellent except for a bit of unexpected spice...... Will be be back soon
Really unique ambiance- not what I expected but absolutely loved it
What a great find in NY. Vey enjoyable. Very cozy and well appointed small place.
Fantastic live music on stage, two wood burning fire places and very comfortable booths.
If the food was a little better this place would be a ROMANTIC must in NY.
The food was so delicious! Got the organic chicken. This had to be the most tender chicken I’ve had! The sorbet was great as well. The live music was a nice touch with great variety from French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Gabriel an Yael were playing. The service and attentiveness were top notch. Highly recommend Fine and Rare for a girls night out, a romantic date, or a classy jazz night.
The restaurant was pricey the food was outstanding as was the music, Given a bill of 1765.00 I thought a surcharge of 130.00 for COVID in addition absurd,
Perfectly prepared dishes, and tasty drinks...and all made from the finest ingredients make Fine & Rare a go to destination.
Great food and music. would definitely come back here.
Food and atmosphere were incredible.
Love this place.
Great experience overall, amazing atmosphere and great service money well spent. If you're doubting coming here, don't I promise you won't regret it
Fine and Rare was one of the best all around dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. First, we felt very safe with all the COVID-19 precautions they had in place. The service was impeccable from the moment was stepped into the restaurant to the moment we left. The music (Brian Newman) was sooo good. It wasn’t too loud and they interacted nicely with the audience. Really top notch jazz. The hand-crafted cocktails were delicious (blackberry vodka gimlet, for one) and the food was just fantastic. We highly recommend the crab cakes and the scallops (which were NOT overcooked, as they are in so many restaurants.) We opted for sorbet for dessert and it did not disappoint. We tried coconut and raspberry. Both were outstanding, although I was partial to the coconut. I give this 7 stars out of 5.
Good food amazing sevice and atmosphere. Strongly recommended
Fine & Rare is one of my favorite places to eat and drink in Manhattan, and our first indoor dining experience in the pandemic era felt like coming home. Social distancing rules were strictly applied, our temps were taken at the door, and everything that could be done to make us feel more comfortable was done. The food and drink were amazing as always — you need to go to brunch there for the crab roll and the Smoking Queen of Scots, a Bloody Mary with vodka switched out for Port Charlotte heavily peated whisky. Can't say enough good things about this place. Even the live music was really good.
Highly recommend for high quality steaks, a date night or any other special occasion!
Impeccable service from my server and all of the staff. the band expertise in playing familiar songs was refreshing.
We had an amazing time. The food was great. The drinks were exceptional. The ambience was exceptional. The lighting perfect. The music level was perfect too. We could have a conversation and hear each other without shouting or speaking loud. The performer was great.
Beautiful live jazz and strong drinks. Very NYC
Even during these trying times Fine and Rare was able to deliver with class and excellence with outdoor dining. Thank you for the great food!
Alfresco dining isn’t the greatest with road noise but live music and food were very good.
Great food, cocktails and desserts. The service was a little slow and too much noise from the busy street. Not the best experience because of street noise but other than that great place.
This was our second time eating at Fine & Rare, the first since the outbreak of COVID-19. Seating was outside, the temperature was okay but there was some wind.
As usual, Fine and Rare never disappoints. Even in this time of pandemic, they manage to serve amazing food along with excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere (live jazz). Always highly recommended.
The hostess is amazing and the music was splendid. Too bad I wasn't on a date because it's the perfect date spot!
The service here is wonderful; they've really done a great job with the outdoor dining experience. It rained and we were perfectly covered.
Wonderful atmosphere, good food and music experience
Okay, This was my first time at Fine & Rare, to celebrate my birthday with a little brunch with two of my closest friends, and believe me, it won’t be the last time. Everything about this restaurant got me very excited about the dining out again, from the staff friendly and attentive Demeanor to the smooths sounds of Jazz players and last but not least, the food and drinks. I had the steak, potatoes, and scrambled eggs, so delicious. Thank you, Fine &Rare, for your Hospitality!
