   Ricotta Cavatelli was amazing! Braised-beef ragu, English peas, mushrooms, in light, creamy sauce. Tip: Finch on Fifth is tucked away in the Royal Sonesta (formerly Monaco) My new favorite in Portland!

   A hidden gem! One of the best breakfasts I've had in Portland! It's the old Red Star - and while it looks similar to the old Red Star - it's feels more modern inside. Super fast service with amazing food at a great price. Gillian, Hannah and Erin are a rockstar service team.

   Since we were staying at the hotel, we I initially tried it for breakfast, but it was closed as the chef “didn’t come in” that day. Tried for dinner and we were the only party in the restaurant right at a popular dinner time. With the pick of any table, the host sat us at a small booth that was tight for four averaged sized humans. Our server was nice, but brand new to serving, so didn’t know the menu at all, and didn’t yet have a flow. There were only about four appetizers and four entrees on the menu - but an extensive bar list. We had three of the appetizers: warm nuts and olives, which seemed overpriced for what was served, and the warm cheese dish, which needed a review of its bread-to-cheese ratio. For entrees, the chicken sandwich and the burger were fine. Not reflective of the grand opulence of its decor or adjoining hotel. It’s fine if you just need to eat, but not a destination.

   Hello, thank you for bringing this to our attention. That day (and that week) there were unplanned repairs being done in the kitchen, so unfortunately we were not able to offer breakfast service. I apologize for whomever told you otherwise. While we were open for dinner - the menu we presented was an abridged menu, based on the portions of the kitchen we were able to access. I am also sorry that explanation was not given to you. We value your feedback and hope you will try us again next time.
