I have been there several time for dinner and have an amazing experience. The food for dinner was fabulous!! I was excited to see Fin & Pearl served breakfast and assumed the food for breakfast would be as wonderful as dinner. The breakfast at Fin & Pearl was horrible. My first indication was that the restaurant was almost empty. My thought was that if the food was as good as dinner, why were there not more people in the restaurant.
In summary, we wanted to order French toast and after ordering was told there was no French toast for the day. We then ordered chicken and waffles. Our waffles were cold (not even warm), the syrup was cold and the 'chicken' included three of the thinnest/skinniest chicken strips I have ever seen! This is Nashville...chicken and waffles implies a piece of fried chicken and not chicken strips.
This was a very, very disappointing breakfast. I had a friend with me from out of town and was hoping to give her a great Nashville breakfast experience and we left the restaurant and agreed to try again at another location the next day before she boarded her plan home.
Fin & Pearl gets 5-stars for dinner and a very generous 1-star for breakfast.
The food was good overall, however it was very understaffed while I was there. My party and I had to wait approximately 15 minutes to be seated for my reservation although 75% of the restaurant was empty. Servers were very nice however the majority couldn't answer specific questions about the menu. We had to wait another 10 minutes after being seated to get our actual server.
Our experience was definitely underwhelming. We had a pre fixe menu that was priced at $75 per person. We order an additional 6 oysters as well as drinks. I will say the drink menu is fun and the drinks were tasty. Our server was knowledgeable and nice but our pre fixe just wasn’t that special. All of our seafood dishes lacked flavor, and I was really looking forward to coming for the seafood! Empty plates sat on the table for way to long. Plates from previous courses stayed on the table with others. It really wasn’t busy. And even if it was you’re paying for a service and experience. The hustle and eye for detail just wasn’t there. Maybe a lack of team work? Bussers would come to set up and clear tables for next service but wouldn’t acknowledge our empty plates. Our server was definitely nice, but for the price we wouldn’t come back.
We did a parents night out here with a group of four and could not have had a better time. The restaurant was moderately busy but the waitress spent a lot of time with us going through the menu and giving us recommendations. We especially enjoyed the poke and the jambalaya. In addition to the great service and good food, we really like that atmosphere.
Great brunch menu in the Gulch area. We liked the diversity of the food and it was very delicious.

Was nice but want a ‘wow’ experience
We were there celebrating the holidays with my parents. We had a great time with good food and the waitstaff were knowledgeable and friendly.
Third time visiting and each time has been excellent. We had a fantastic server and manager stopped by to check in us as well.
Unfortunately the food was average. I ordered the Sea Bass and sent it back as it was very tough :/ Had the oysters as an appetizer and just ok too. The service was wonderful, but I will not be back.
The food was excellent except that the fish (special of the day) was over-cooked for one of our entrees. We declined their offer of a replacement, so they provided a free dessert. Servers were over-attentive, asking us for dessert orders before one of us was finished with the entree.

The hostess was rude when we informed her our party size had just changed due to a family emergency. Then we weren’t greeted by a server with water for almost 10 minutes. The atmosphere is nice. The food is slightly overpriced for what you get
We came here for a Girls Night and it was fantastic!! Our server was awesome and everything she recommended was delicious! Branzini, Scallops and blackened green beans were highlights! Best seafood I’ve had in Nashville!
Service was super slow. Waited about 30 minutes for cocktails. Server was not readily available.

Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The experts at the raw oyster bar helped us find something for my husband to try for his first raw oyster experience. He likes it and we ordered more. The food was delicious and in reasonable portions. I would definitely go again.

This is the second visit and I was not disappointed at all .. the second visit was as delicious as the first. Great for lunch easy conversation level and many lighter options from the menu. Would definitely go back and perfect for out of town guests . Nice and airy atmosphere for lunch .
My wife and I went here for our 1 year anniversary. We were very excited to go for a few months now.
It was a Monday night and not very busy at all. It took our server over 5 minutes to stop at our table to even say hello.
We ordered a bottle of wine, a beer, 2 appetizers and a dozen oysters, followed by an entree each.
The wine was brought out, opened and poured, and then just left on the table. A white wine, full bottle, and no ice bucket.
Next our entrees arrive. No sign of our appetizers. Our server runs over and apologizes, takes the entrees back and says he will have them make new ones once our apps show up.
The cup of gumbo was pretty good, the bruschetta was not really bruschetta, but an artistic take on one. The Oysters- so someone walks over with one (1) oyster on a small appetizer plate. Again the server runs over and yells in spanish at the guy and a few minutes later the 12 come out. They were also prepared well, (they were raw, so not that hard to do)
Finally we get new entree's
I had the pork which tasted fine. It was a bit dry and not very warm.
My wife had the salmon which parts of which were not fully cooked.
They offered us a free desert so we chose the cheesecake. I have never ever in my life seen a cheesecake that was 2 inches high.it tasted fine but was literally the worlds smallest cheesecake
All throughout the server was a little over the top (in a not good way)
Overtime he came to our table he would first say "TALK TO ME", umm no we would rather not...maybe just get our orders right
It was pretty funny when he stated he was cajun but then told the next table he was from Houston.
He seemed to be trying way to hard at having a false personality instead of just being a really good server.
It was really disappointing since we were so excited to check this place out. We will not be going back anytime soon
We went for Sunday brunch and found it to be fairly average. I wouldn’t call it a foodie restaurant but then again we just had breakfast. Great service.

First time at the Fin & Pearl and absolutely a fantastic experience! Well worth the trip and entire experience was incredible! Great bar staff that goes out of their way to recommend and accommodate. Cuisine is very creative and not heavy or overwhelming. Try the crab dip which has a very unique and light approach. Chowder is phenomenal with a great smoky taste that does not come acrooss "fishy". Wine choice are good and complement the entrees well. Don't skip desert! Again, creative, light and not overwhelming. A definite must when in the Gulch!
My wife and I probably dine here at least once per month. The servers are usually great. The staff that brings the food from the kitchen could use some training in terms of passing out food and they could be a bit more friendly. Wine list is okay. Fresh fish and starter selections are always outstanding.
Good and great service. Pricing on raw menu a bit confusing if you want hot oysters.

Hands down, one of my Nashville favorite go-to places. If you like freshly shucked oysters on the half shell, this is the place. I've done brunch, afterwork cocktails [gets busy, be early or you pay for the second round: you know who you are!], and dinner. All of these are superbly executed by a great chef, staff, and waiters/waitresses. Don't like a particular ingredient, want to substitute, no worries! Have food allergies, not a problem... they can and will watch and be mindful of that. Wine and cocktail menu is well appointed, with all the great top shelf spirits. . . even single barrel Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey. I love this place!
The lobster tail from the bar menu was excellent! Highly recommend it.
Expensive, but worth it. Two couples for dinner. Wife had scallops that were huge and tasty. Her potato cake was delicious. I had grouper that was excellent. Both were $36. Other couple had jambalaya and salmon and both said both were great. Our server, Victor, was very good. We went on a Thursday night and it was not busy at all.
Valet Parking is the best bet. It's free. Come down 12th, south from Demonbreun to access the valet. Else you'll have a hard time coming up 12th from the Gulch.

Really enjoyed our experience. My husband wanted a drink not on the menu and he gave the description of wanting a gin drink not too sweet - he was blown away by the cocktail the bartender came up with - with his favorite gin (Martin Miller) no less. They called the drink the last word.
Wife and I went with her sister and husband for an evening out. Seated promptly. The menu is simple and not very large. Just the right amount of options without becoming overwhelming. The raw ceviche and oysters where outstanding. I had the bronzini which was lightly fried, wife had the salmon, both dishes where very well prepared and delicious. We shared the mashed potatoes with lobster and have to admit it was awesome. The service was attentive and professional. Overall, a great seafood option in the heart of Nashville.
Food was not good. This is second time to go to this restaurant and both time the main was not good .
3 days ago, 12:30 Sunday brunch, place is 1/4 full. Food all came out cold, not sure what happened to the Bloody Mary I fell in love with during previous visits, bathroom dirty. All signs that this place is going down quick. I can no recommend the hot avocado shrimp. 2 shrimp, not hot in temperature or in spice, 3 pieces of toast with barely a smear of avocado, mango pieces so tiny and flavorless, literally 3 chickpeas on the plate. If only it could have come together like the menu description!
My family has the hash (fair) and the chicken & waffles (chicken was good but cold, waffle was dry and rubbery). I hate that this restaurant was not as good as the other times we came here.
We thought our food and atmosphere were great. Menu was creative and drinks were really good.
The bathrooms were disgusting - very dirty. However, the rest of our experience was great.
