Food was underwhelming! Scallops were small and tough. Reminded me of Red Lobster at twice the price. Southern tomatoes toast had burnt bread with overripe flavorless tomatoes and barely a hint of Ricotta cheese. The octopus was like shoe leather. The best dish was the Mahi Mahi. It just was not enough to make up for the other dishes. One big positive is that the oysters from the raw bar were fantastic. Would probably only get those if I ever came back.
What’s not to love about oysters? They have 15 or so to choose from at $3.00 each. Very fresh and tasty, although a Lilttle on the small side. Only complaint is that there none from North Carolina or the Gulf of Mexico. We are partial to plump, sweet and large oysters from the gulf. Service was very good and it was a little on the noisy side.
We did the “treatment” menu where your server picks out the dishes based on your preferences. Caitlin did a phenomenal job pairing our tastes with dishes. It was a great value and allowed us to sample many different plates. We opted for this since we couldn’t decide which dishes to order. The cocktails and wine were superb too. We will definitely return and order “the treatment “ again. Thank you Caitlin and staff for making our evening unforgettable!
Seafood tapas done right! Unusual preparations that add flavors to the seafood.
Good, moderate priced wine list with many unusual choices.
Enjoyable evening before the show at Knight Theater.
Food was very good but ran into two problems. The first was that our dinner dishes were not cleared in a timely manner. The second and most upsetting was that the surprise dessert tray I ordered was never delivered (it was to contain 7 or 8 variety desserts - an option suggested to me over the phone which I happily and clearly accepted). In addition to the phone order, I spoke to two hostesses about it when I arrived at the restaurant and then whispered to the waitress about getting the dessert tray when she tried to take our dessert order. When it never arrived, I finally gave up and let my party order dessert as I did not want to make a scene. The final result was that our dessert was served one HOUR after our dinner was served but no one seemed to notice the delay, except me and my guests. I then had to race to get home on time. Overall, it was a very stressful experience. The morale of this story is don’t try to order a dessert tray.
Wonderful seafood themed, small-plates format. Great location for theater and sports venues.
The service and waitress was great. Pretty warm inside, felt like AC may not have been working. Limited Prosecco/sparking wine options to a special menu with 3 $100 bottles. Food was good but not as good as I remember in December, (e.g., Pasta was too al dente for my preference). I very much appreciated and enjoyed the off the menu basket of bread.
I did not like this restaurant, extremely noisy, Tapa's style portions but at full portion price.
The quality was only average. The restaurant does have a wide choice of oysters but $3 per is expensive. I would not return.
Everything was great! Loved the raw bar with ousters.. we will go back for sure!
Terrific service and delicious food. Eclectic menu at a great value. Very attentive wait staff.
The highlights of our visit were the Cocktails and service, which was an example of perfection. The food was very fresh. There was only one dish at our table of eight that was not loved.
The food was good but the service was excellent! Frannie made our evening by giving us service we all crave when we dine out.
The food was awesome especially the Lion fish!
Tried this location for its proximity to Knight Theater. Nicely decorated but dark. When we got there, a group was having happy hour and it was so loud we had to shout into the hostess's ear. After they left, it was still loud so a lot has to do with acoustics. Dishes were tapas. Prices are misleading on OpenTable since one has to order more than 2 plates for 2 people, so it should be more in line of $$$ not $$. Two of the dishes were flavorful and the other two were forgetful.
The Bar area was sooo noisy that the rest of the restaurant was too noisy
Food was great, service was great, very high noise level.
I loved F&F the first time I dined there. This second time, not so much. Food was great, service was good but the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed by the pre-theater dinner crowd. I waited an hour for two scallops (for $16, no less). I'm happy to pay good money for good food, but an hour wait for two bites? My beet and goat cheese salad was tons of lettuce and three quarter-slices of a beet. About two carrot slices and some very hard croutons. The goat cheese was good, but still. The tomato toast was great. The waitress was doing her best to see that our food got to us, but to no avail. Things are slipping a bit at F&F. I'll go to other restaurants for a while.
Our waiter, "Earl", made our experience so much fun! Chef Scott also came over and talked with us. We really enjoyed both the food and the experience and we will be back!
Great atmosphere and some really good dishes. The flavors are great at Fin & Fino. We also like the wine selection.
The food was delicious, the Treatment was a little too pricey, in my opinion, for what was offered (we were 2 people, asked if we could share it, were told yes but then were billed for two treatments). Probably a misunderstanding, still it gave us the opportunity to taste delicious plates that we might not have tried otherwise, so I would definitely go back and order them again from the à la carte menu. Good service.
The food was mostly great, though the server and/or the kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed. The server disappeared for long periods of time, but would make up for it by bringing over multiple free plates, courtesy of the chef. The server also suggested we each order 2-3 dishes, and it ended up being way too much food. Not to mention the food came out at weirdly staggered times. All that aside, the food was tasty and I plan to go back.
Get The Treatment!! For a nice night out, it’s best if you order for 4 or more. $60 a person (10% goes to charity) and they bring you a sample of a lot of their food. We counted it up and had 12 different dishes. Service was phenomenal. Highly recommend. Tip: bring your appetite.
Great location with very nice décor. Highly recommend The Treatment. All of the tapas plates where delicious.
Wasn't really sure what to expect besides seafood when I arrived. Be prepared that this is tapas/small plates and fairly pricey. The food is delicious though. Was there to celebrate my birthday with friends and it was an excellent way to enjoy each other's company while sampling different very well prepared dishes. Wasn't disappointed by anything I tasted. Enjoyed my cocktails. Had excellent service. Only reason didn't give a 5 for the whole experience is because there was a little bit of back up in the kitchen that made some of the process slow BUT again the food didn't disappoint. Also our servers kept us up to date on the delay as appropriate and even gave a coupon for a future visit. I'll be back.
Great service. The Treatment was outstanding. All 5 disks were Delicious.
Food was amazing as always but we didn’t have the best server.
The server broke a champagne glass and spilled it on my client. Two of the people in my party were celebrating and anniversary. The server brought out 4 glasses of a below average champagne for us to toast. Between the broken glass and the anniversary, I would have expected a little more.
Our second time and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. We had a play to get to and they kept everything on track. We really enjoy this place and plan to be back soon!
Our waiter was great, hope they enjoyed our chocolate cake leftovers!
Fin & Fino was a great date night spot. Although a little dark, the mood of the restaurant was exactly what we were looking for - quiet, trendy, and delicious. We had an amazing server, Charles, who was able to guide us through the menu and made sure we had all the best picks. Highly recommend!
Menu can be hard to follow but the servers are very knowledgeable, their recommendations did not disappoint!
We had originally organized a group of friends for restaurant week specials, but our waiter, Earl, talked us into “The Treatment”. We are so glad he did! There was much excellent food for the table to share, and really allowed us to sample most of the menu. Excellent food and service- we look forward to returning again!
Our server was exceptional, from his knowledge of the menu to his timely service. He made out first time dinning there a memorable one and we will definitely be returning. The food was cooked to perfection, there was nothing we didn’t love.
Worth the money.
The food was great, but the service was even better! It has been hard to find a restaurant with good service in Charlotte. Andrew did a fantastic job at fin and fino. We will return because of him!
Wonderful experience! Our waitress was phenomenal & the service was fabulous! They even surprised us with champagne & dessert for our anniversary! Food was amazing & delicious! We can’t wait to go back.
Came for restaurant week but I will definitely want to return. Andrew was our amazing server and his suggestions made our meal that much more delectable. Definitely a must visit again.
Brought a group of 6 and everyone left happy
