We were late on reservations, however did call in the morning, only to have them call back in the afternoon and ask if they could move us later8:45 or even 9pm. Because we’re considerate, we said no on 9, but would extend to 8:45. Got there, it was 9:05 before we got our drink order. 45 min to get our first appetizer, had to send enter back cause it was not cooked properly. They did give us a discount, so we’re willing to try again
We have been to this restaurant several times and always had a wonderful dinner. This time they had a smaller menu. Only one person out of 6 in our party was completely satisfied with their food. The risotto was bland and had large clumps. The brussel sprouts in another dish were so undercooked that a knife couldn’t even cut through them. The rice in two of the dishes was so undercooked it was crunchy and totally inedible. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll be back.
All good Christmas dinner
First impression was nice atmosphere, classy yet somewhat casual. Our waiter was quite nice and informative. The appetizers were small and simple, yet pricey at 14-16 dollars. Our entrees were quite pricey and although tasty, did not live up to their high price tags. Cioppino was $42. Good thing we shared it. The taste was good but the presentation was lacking big time. Broth was a dirty redbrown, not appealing. Seafood was also the same color. Not a vibrant looking cioppino. Steak and elk steaks were good, but again, very pricey. In the end we felt it was nice/okay food at a high price.
Great food and service
The lobster bisque was to die for. Loved the blackened salmon. Great meal!!
We were treated well and enjoyed a delicious meal. We shared kangaroo appetizers, and I had wild boar for dinner while my family ordered filet and halibut. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday night so the wait was a bit longer than we would have preferred- both the noise and the wait for drinks, salads, etc, but our server was lovely.
Excellent food and service in a great atmosphere. Awesome menu too! Highly recommend.
First time to eat at Fin & Filet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Before dinner drinks were very nice. Great Manhattans! Shared a Coconut Shrimp appetizer and Wedge Salad to start. Had the Sole Meuniere and NY Steak entrees, both of which were very good. Finished with the Chocolate Lava Cake. It was a very nice dinner in a wonderful steakhouse atmosphere. A bit more than we usually spend on dinner, but worth it!
This is one of our favorite places to go when we want a nice dining experience, whether a special occasion or just a dress up weekend.
Our waiter was exceptional. My filet was quite on the rare side. I ordered medium-well. He was beyond accommodating. Our meal was perfect. Thank you
This was on Thanksgiving Day. Our table was on time. The restaurant was full. The drinks and the food was excellent. A little pricey but for a special dinner it is fine.
Love this restaurant. It's very low key from the outside but great ambience, fabulous food and good reasonable wine. One of my favorites in Reno
Food was great quality and it was nice to see a vegetarian option
Our waiter was very professional
We enjoyed a fantastic time. Food was fantastic.
An exceptional menu paired with exceptional service. One of Reno's best restaurants.
The service was terrible, we were seated by the kitchen and there was a lot of noise and loud conversations coming out of the kitchen. It was recommended to get the salmon but the salmon was not very flavorful and it was very very soft and mushy.
I had the venison which was not very flavorful and the food portion was very small
It was sad because It was a special occasion and we paid a lot of money for some not very good food
Great atmosphere. Good food. Especially good deal if you get the pre-fix menu that includes alcohol. The only drawback was that the waiter keep dropping the next drink on us in prep for the next food arriving while we were still eating and drinking the previous course. It felt like he was rushing us along even though there were several tables open.
Nice decor, service, and food particularly pre-show at the Pioneer Center. Avery is a very able bar tender, knowledgeable and friendly. He helped make our evening very enjoyable. Very nice wine list both by the glass and bottle, and good happy hour deals. Well located within walking distance of the riverwalk and downtown events.
My favorite Reno restaurant. Always my first choice when holding a business dinner.
Fantastic menu options, great value and wonderful atmosphere!
Very nice 50th Birthday dinner on Saturday night. Our waiter was outstanding and on it.
I ordered the short rib and was cold in the middle, warm on the outside. This was a shock, because it was supposedly “braised all day.” There is only one explanation, it was leftover from prior days and was refrigerated or frozen. It was also undercooked (under braised) by at least a couple hours, and it had absolutely no flavor. The meat was not fork tender and the connective tissue was not even close to done. After an apology, we were to be given free desert. But, they charged us for one of two deserts. Finally, we were over charged by $20 for a bottle of wine compared to the stated price on the wine list. Needless to say, I won’t return. What a shame for a place with so much potential.
Great food, great service
I can't believe this was our first time at Fin & Filet. Incredible food, service and environment. We eat out a lot for business and pleasure, we will definitely be back!
Had to send dinner back once for undercooked rice, should have sent it back again as when I got my plate back with cooked rice the asparagus was ice cold. Food was ok, nothing great. We were substantially overcharged on our cocktails. Overall a very disappointing night.
Great restaurant great menu. I had the scallop entree, my guests had their salmon and the lobster tail over palenta. Service and bar excellent but a Little pricey (around $38 per each entree). We will go back
We had dinner here for our 3rd year Anniversary. The food is very good. I had the Sole. They did a great job not over cooking a light white fish and the portion was a good size. Just had the left over for lunch today. I love lemon capers and a nice Beurre Blanc sauce.
Services was pleasant and knowledgeable. Dinning room attractive and clean. We are able to walk there so that is a plus.
We sat outside which was lovely. The food and the service were outstanding. I would definitely go back.
We had a great family dinner to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent, as was the service. Will be back soon.
Ken and his team were awesome! Food and wine excellent!
Great food, excellent service, and exceptional cocktails.
Service was terrific, everyone seemed to focus on good service. However the food was less impressive. Three of us had Sole Meuniere, and you might have well have ordered fish and chips at another restaurant. Not the typical preparation of pan sautéed sole topped with a lemon caper sauce. Over breaded, and over cooked. Portion way too large. Another diner had soft shelled crab that was so spiced the crab didn't come through. Ceasar salad OK, but soup of the day again over seasoned. Not competitive for either price or food quality.
We visit Reno often to see our family and I did some research to find a new restaurant that we hadn’t been to. What a wonderful find, from the exterior you would never guess how charming and cozy it is inside. We had a great waiter, Mark who answered our questions and helped us make our dinner choices. The food is just amazing, my husband said he thinks it is the best restaurant we have eaten at in Reno!
I had the fish special of the night which was halibut and it was so moist and delicious. I don’t order white fish often because it is hard to cook without drying it out.
My husband had the New York with a side of Brussels sprouts that he said had fantastic flavor. There are so many great sounding items on the menu we need to return several times, we will be back!
This wine pairing with Shannon Ridge wines was awesome. 5 courses over a period of almost 4 hours. I imagine its what royalty experienced! A lot of food but spread out over that length of time it was great. Most of the wines were good, all of the food and the thought that went into the pairing was spot on!
Great job Fin & Filet!
Fin&Filet offered a 5 course meal with wine pairing. The 5 courses were very varied as were the wines. All very good.
A terrific place. We went for our anniversary dinner, and the waitress that served us was awesome. Great service from the hostess to the bartender. Food was reasonably priced, and you could afford to eat here monthly.
Duck breast was well cooked and so was the lamb. Overall, a great experience.
Great ambiance, service was excellent.
Service was just a little slow for the money spent. Still one of my top 3 restaurants in Reno.
Anniversary dinner. I highly recommend this restaraunt
