Fin & Filet
We enjoyed a fantastic time. Food was fantastic.
An exceptional menu paired with exceptional service. One of Reno's best restaurants.
The service was terrible, we were seated by the kitchen and there was a lot of noise and loud conversations coming out of the kitchen. It was recommended to get the salmon but the salmon was not very flavorful and it was very very soft and mushy.
I had the venison which was not very flavorful and the food portion was very small
It was sad because It was a special occasion and we paid a lot of money for some not very good food
Great atmosphere. Good food. Especially good deal if you get the pre-fix menu that includes alcohol. The only drawback was that the waiter keep dropping the next drink on us in prep for the next food arriving while we were still eating and drinking the previous course. It felt like he was rushing us along even though there were several tables open.
Nice decor, service, and food particularly pre-show at the Pioneer Center. Avery is a very able bar tender, knowledgeable and friendly. He helped make our evening very enjoyable. Very nice wine list both by the glass and bottle, and good happy hour deals. Well located within walking distance of the riverwalk and downtown events.
My favorite Reno restaurant. Always my first choice when holding a business dinner.
Fantastic menu options, great value and wonderful atmosphere!
Very nice 50th Birthday dinner on Saturday night. Our waiter was outstanding and on it.
I ordered the short rib and was cold in the middle, warm on the outside. This was a shock, because it was supposedly “braised all day.” There is only one explanation, it was leftover from prior days and was refrigerated or frozen. It was also undercooked (under braised) by at least a couple hours, and it had absolutely no flavor. The meat was not fork tender and the connective tissue was not even close to done. After an apology, we were to be given free desert. But, they charged us for one of two deserts. Finally, we were over charged by $20 for a bottle of wine compared to the stated price on the wine list. Needless to say, I won’t return. What a shame for a place with so much potential.
Great food, great service
I can't believe this was our first time at Fin & Filet. Incredible food, service and environment. We eat out a lot for business and pleasure, we will definitely be back!
Had to send dinner back once for undercooked rice, should have sent it back again as when I got my plate back with cooked rice the asparagus was ice cold. Food was ok, nothing great. We were substantially overcharged on our cocktails. Overall a very disappointing night.
Great restaurant great menu. I had the scallop entree, my guests had their salmon and the lobster tail over palenta. Service and bar excellent but a Little pricey (around $38 per each entree). We will go back
We had dinner here for our 3rd year Anniversary. The food is very good. I had the Sole. They did a great job not over cooking a light white fish and the portion was a good size. Just had the left over for lunch today. I love lemon capers and a nice Beurre Blanc sauce.
Services was pleasant and knowledgeable. Dinning room attractive and clean. We are able to walk there so that is a plus.
We sat outside which was lovely. The food and the service were outstanding. I would definitely go back.
We had a great family dinner to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent, as was the service. Will be back soon.
Ken and his team were awesome! Food and wine excellent!
Great food, excellent service, and exceptional cocktails.
Service was terrific, everyone seemed to focus on good service. However the food was less impressive. Three of us had Sole Meuniere, and you might have well have ordered fish and chips at another restaurant. Not the typical preparation of pan sautéed sole topped with a lemon caper sauce. Over breaded, and over cooked. Portion way too large. Another diner had soft shelled crab that was so spiced the crab didn't come through. Ceasar salad OK, but soup of the day again over seasoned. Not competitive for either price or food quality.
We visit Reno often to see our family and I did some research to find a new restaurant that we hadn’t been to. What a wonderful find, from the exterior you would never guess how charming and cozy it is inside. We had a great waiter, Mark who answered our questions and helped us make our dinner choices. The food is just amazing, my husband said he thinks it is the best restaurant we have eaten at in Reno!
I had the fish special of the night which was halibut and it was so moist and delicious. I don’t order white fish often because it is hard to cook without drying it out.
My husband had the New York with a side of Brussels sprouts that he said had fantastic flavor. There are so many great sounding items on the menu we need to return several times, we will be back!
This wine pairing with Shannon Ridge wines was awesome. 5 courses over a period of almost 4 hours. I imagine its what royalty experienced! A lot of food but spread out over that length of time it was great. Most of the wines were good, all of the food and the thought that went into the pairing was spot on!
Great job Fin & Filet!
Fin&Filet offered a 5 course meal with wine pairing. The 5 courses were very varied as were the wines. All very good.
A terrific place. We went for our anniversary dinner, and the waitress that served us was awesome. Great service from the hostess to the bartender. Food was reasonably priced, and you could afford to eat here monthly.
Duck breast was well cooked and so was the lamb. Overall, a great experience.
Great ambiance, service was excellent.
Service was just a little slow for the money spent. Still one of my top 3 restaurants in Reno.
Anniversary dinner. I highly recommend this restaraunt
We have been 2x now, the first time was off the hook, second time left mush to desire. Service was good, ambiance was good but the food prep and presentation was sub par. We will give it one more try hoping it was just a freak occurrence. Still would recommend it!
The meal and service was excellent! I started with the heirloom tomatoes salad which was on some pesto and drizzled with balsamic vinegar which great. This set the expectation high for the rest of the meal and I was not disappointed! I ordered the filet which cut like butter and melted in my mouth. The mash potatoes and asparagus were just as wonderful. I would highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant! Can’t wait to go back when I’m in town.
Very good food. The staff is amazing. The seating is nice. The cocktails are very good.
Fin & Filet is a restaurant you can count on for great service and great food, which is saying a lot since most restaurants are not consistent in these two areas. We've never been disappointed. We usually take my son and his fiance with us, both of whom are vegetarians and there are always plenty of menu selections to satisfy all of us. Love this restaurant!
Awesome food and service!
There is ample parking, patio seating in a cool vintage building. Devore is uncomplicated, comfortable leather executive style chairs at each table. Summer salmon salad was beautiful and delicious. The halibut on quinoas was tasty cooked perfectly.
Lemon tart was served generously with strawberries...the only mishear is the strawberries were a bit shriveled.
Waitress was professional and attentive. Though the restaurant wasn’t busy I am sure she could have handled it if it were.
Food was great ! Server was great ! The confederations in the kitchen were distracting and unprofessional. We sat on the patio where the kitchen is open
Nice restaurant. We had a good table. There were lots of interesting options for dinner. I like the menu. I would go back. It's not cheap so be prepared.
Staff is exemplary, leadership is attentive, food is divine, wine selection is thoughtful and affordable, parking is a breeze, and F&F is open Sunday evening for dinner!
We love this place! Food & service are excellent.
Great food and fresh! Fantastic service!
A little dated cooking with no/or little attention to detail. Seafood lacked freshness, acidity and texture. Crime brûlée seemed like some sort of ready custard mix with an all to thick caramel. Seemed like they don’t know how it’s supposed to be or might not care. A little of an disappointment. Standard not up to the pricing.
Great food and service. Will be back!
I arrived at 5p for a 530p reservation and was the only one in the place, mid-week, not unexpected. A few of the menu items weren't available quite yet so they made adjustments on the fly. Bartender fixed a perfect cocktail so a bit of a wait wasn't a problem. The filet was quite large and very tasty, done just as ordered. Im not sure if it fills up later in the evening but mid-week early dinner you could walk in no problem. It is within easy walking distance from the heart of downtown too.
